Best FICTIONAL sports team logos?

Supa Strikas (a popular comic book series in Kenya and Tanzania)
>>
ah yeah (2021 design was kinda ass)
>>
I'm surprised how few I can find that are full-on logos and not just stylized text
>>
I worry this thread peaked with the OP... but maybe so many are plain or bad because lots of real sports teams' logos are plain or bad, meaning they're actually "great" (at recreating that failure)
>>
Like this sucks, but a crappy low-rent college would have a crappy logo. So how much of it sucking is intentional sucking?

lol i forgot about these, it backfired so bad they should've started selling them; anyway have another underwhelming logo helmet signed by an actor
>>
okay in a split-the-difference kinda way but doesn't really spark joy for me yknow
>>
now THIS... THIS is a good logo! what do we think about... THIS fictional sports logo? should it come back? (also fuck that guy from 6 months ago who got people's hopes up and then ghosted; if people wanna see the return i'm only gonna caretake, but i WILL do it)

Strike First. Strike Hard. No Mercy.

Yes, do it, there's not a lot of time left.
>>
>>459968
I'll give it a few more days to get support (board being what it is) but I'll take whatever PoI we have by the 30th and submit it for the deadline on the 4th.

Does Racing count?
>>
>>459980
huh... weird case; I'd say "yes" if the fictional auto company has an established, depicted-in-universe motorsport team... but THIS one also isn't fictional anymore because I guess it's been on real livery now... so maybe this Vaillante in particular doesn't, or at least would have before 2017?

(btw if you do wanna see /gd/ revive, *specifically* reply to that post saying so, that's what the organizers wanna see)

Yeah, but you really should have made this its own thread instead of hiding it like this.
>>
>>460019
Yeah, I know... I was playing it coy because the jannies came down hard last time.
>>
Well: I did go through the proper channels and was told to expect a decision by the end of... yesterday UTC.

So it doesn't look GREAT but the jury's still out. If we get in I think it's probably best to leave polls and updates until after a cycle of being back. And if it's not accepted, well, shit... I/we can try again in 6 months. Maybe one of the original guys will come back with milk and cigs...

Damn though when I remembered this one, they did a pretty decent/believable job on this one. Shame about the title of the movie.

Ooh nice; for some reason I was all-in on movies. There's probably some gems hiding in Mario Kart and F-Zero. Oh, and Blitz The League.

On the team front: I've got a few years' worth of the team's old models backed up locally and I've already gone through the music and "remastered" the audio export. (Mostly improved-quality sound files, a new song or two, but all the classics accounted for.) Will see if I can track down one of the two main OG managers for their warehouse of rare Kernings, but since we're autopilot and not making any big changes this time out, we should be more or less good to go. Will probably give the wiki a once-over as well after the qualies but before the cup, too.
>>
The site is alive, the cup starts in 6 hours, and our first group stage match back is tomorrow! As a function of convenience (and me being admittedly a little inept) the team lineup is a slight "retro reboot" but a vast majority of team is recognizable, classic players. Same goes for the music (with some tweaks here and there), and everything else about the team is timeless. We hit the pitch, see how it feels to be back, and after it all we can talk changes for next cup. Day 1 kickoff in 5 1/2 hours, check the wiki for our full schedule (/co/, /wg/ and /pw/ await) and also a link to the stream once it's live.

It's time. The first match is our later opponents in the group (/wg/ vs. /pw/) and right after it's /co/ and us. Intro already rolled but you can rewind while they do setup for Game 1. There may even be a new match-specific Kerning I found on some sketchy free download page... c'mon and tune in.

...well, that's what I get for only signing up as a "caretaker" and not giving up the chance to do any of the tactics. That matches the worst result in the team's history from... 2014. Granted we took every curse we possibly could (Hank's unlucky, that free Kerning was a virus, etc.) but still, jeez. Just gotta hope we make it back next weekend on Friday and Sunday. At least we're back, right? (...right?)

It's game 2 of 3 for the group stage today; we've got /wg/ to deal with and, well, hopefully it goes better than last week. Dunno where I'll be for kickoff but click this link in about 10 hours or so and it'll probably be the back end of the match before ours! (We're the end of the day.) Come enjoy a new Kerning at least!

Oh and I remembered the link to the stream that doesn't activate the spam filter.

It's starting now!

And now it's over. Well, uh... we scored MORE THAN ZERO goals! And we may be locked into Autumn (which gives me time to better oversee things) but maybe we can still dodge the qualifiers? If we just... beat... /pw/... alright probably not.

Anyway. If you've been watching: a) thank you, b) I'm sorry, and c) I'll do a poll after our last match as to options for the future. Maybe I'll grab the reins more in earnest, maybe we'll take another long nap, maybe something else happens. Whatever we do, I'm sure as SHIT not letting someone else make us an autopilot again! See ya Sunday.
>>
It's match time for our final game this go-around, and /pw/ are in a very emotional state today... so they're probably about to take it out on us. Hardcore style.

The future is unwritten... but the present promises pain. Let's take our lumps and live to fight another day. Hard times, daddeh. Here we go.

It was pretty gud. Seek normal place for more thoughts

Well, hot damn! What a last-minute turnaround! Not enough to advance, mind you, but maybe that's for the best. More time for me to finalize some draft proposals and generally get my act together across the board.

Hope you enjoyed the Pet Shop Boys, we're going home with our heads high. If you're down for it, I'll be around and back in Autumn.

Sorry about missing the announcement for our game on Friday... but we got shut out by /fit/ 3-0 anyway. The price you pay for fluking your way into the Elites and getting a group of death.

Today's game is us probably getting violated by /d/ in about 90 minutes! We'll close out against /tg/ next Saturday as well. Win or lose it'll still be a good time.
>>
UPDATE: 8 -1 loss... goddamn that was worse than I thought. I should've stayed away. See you Saturday I guess!

Well after getting shellacked by /d/ we have one last shot to escape with a shred of dignity against /tg/ and dodge the Wooden Spoon. It's in the hands of fate; tune in if you're tuning in because we're up next in the last game of the day, giant skull and all.

Have you seen The Last Boy Scout? The logo helmet for fictional NFL team the Stallions opens the movie and perfectly foreshadows a black all-star receiver opening gunfire against white defensive chads in a hyperbolic floodlight downpour lensed by Tony Scott, and then the receiver suicides after muttering "Ain't life a bitch?" In the original screenplay, he suicides by saying "I'm going to Disneyland" but imho that line would be fantasy overkill compiled with the Stallions high test minimalist animal logo.

Aesthetic is why Last Boy Scout btfo Any Given Sunday's similar fictional pro leagues setting and attitude

Not exactly sports team but I really like the hero's custom baby dragon skateboard logo at the stoopid end of that 80s movie Gleaming the Cube
