Much of the Dirlewanger Unit has been heavily mythologised either by Germans trying to divert attention away from themselves or historyslop-writers wanting to make a quick buck.
However, his actions in Lublin are very well documented and indeed true which was the rape, poisoning and killing of Jewish women, including minors.
