I would argue that microbiota count as "creeping thing[s] that creepeth upon the earth", with regard to mankind's dominion over them, but I suppose we could discuss it further if you'd like. Also: I really, really don't think the Lord would be upset about grand efforts bent towards the care of the sick and the preservation of human life.
