Trying to create justification to draw the characters I created. This is as good enough of a reason as any.

That's fine. I don't mind the statement. I was hoping people would say it's more of a "Yume Nikki" or "OFF" copy but those things ARE dwarfed by the Undertale.

You'd think making artwork about a shut in, with a dark mysterious uboa like creature and a portal that takes you to an alternate dimension would be far more telling about the inspirations.

>>823831
No no I completely understand where you're coming from. You are 100% correct and I have no doubts that people will say it's an Undertale copy. In my heart all that matters to me is that I know where I pull my inspiration and for the pure fact that I've never played Undertale. (Though I've played Deltarune and enjoyed it so)
Hopefully I can continuously put out work. I have no real massive hope for this to go anywhere. It's just a vehicle to put my love for all those weird vibey games into my own thing. (Ena, LSD Dream Emulator, Yume Nikki, .Flow, OFF, "The Concept of Web1.0")
End of the day of the day I have no grand aspirations. It's just an outlet because the stuff I normally draw for my money isn't all too fulfilling on an experimental/artistic level

Pretty good shit! Thank you so much! Funny enough I got some early fanart of him but it's of a female variety. I think that's what I enjoy about having a gender ambiguous character in appearance.
>>824074
I'm glad he has appeal!
>>
>>
>>824078
The concept is that they ARE gender ambiguous. I hope people see them as ambiguous. As the creator I know what my own intention for their gender are and here on 4chan we're doing a little Meta shit because it doesn't really matter I'm probably not going to talk about their gender at all through my material.
Also please go ahead I do not mind whatsoever! I'm glad you enjoy them enough to draw them!

Yeah as it stands nobody knows enough about my shit for me to justify asking people of things. it'd be like asking someone to draw some intricate inside joke. I should draw the interactions between my characters more so I can get a good baseline for their relationships. That way I won't feel like you're doing heavy lifting for me.

Anon, I really love this project. The characters have personality, and you can tell they have a backstory to tell. The fact that it 'resembles' Undertale isn't a bad thing in my opinion. Undertale was inspired by Mother and Yume Nikki, and it's not a bad thing to borrow concepts from other franchises as long as you give them your own unique touch. Do you plan to make a video game? Do you have a story in mind, or are you just experimenting randomly?
>>823735
Also, what program did you use to make these sprites?

Yeah, I've been a creator who has feared making derivative material all my creative life, the moment I learned that everything that anyone creates is just a spin on something that's be done from their unique perspective lessened the fear in my heart. I know what I love I know what I pulled from and I know it's different enough,
I allows have a grand illusion that I'd be able to make it a game one day, but I know myself enough that for that to be the case I need to make myself a stronger artist so I can dedicate the time to learn. As it stands I do want it to exist as a "My first practice" game where it operates far closer to Yume Nikki where you just explore the zones and talk to NPCs, but eventually I would start building off of that with more elements that I'd learn and introduce, but for now it's just a concept.
As for the story, it is also just concepts. As it stands I wanted it to be a episodic type thing where you explored the world and different users and their creations, daily hijinks with a focus on uncovering a deeper mystery to the space, eventually turning into a more serialize situations with grander goals within the world, but as stated this can't be my main focus for I have other responsibilities elsewhere. I still think it's one of my SFW ideas that deserves to be drawn.
I used Clip Studio Paint, but I do own and plan to learn Aesprite. The visual pixel style I enjoy is Eastward so it'd be interesting what that eventually ends up becoming.

Oh no no no, I feel like even the pornography should be the will of the people. As someone surrounded by porn on the daily I really use this as separation from my routine, a chance to expand my brain in other area's beyond just lewd.

It's the Alternet(Alter). To explain it as plainly as possible it's a "Metaverse" or "Gamedive" space. Pretty much imagine if VR Chat/Second Life was able to teleport you into their worlds, but you had to pay a blood tithe to get in.
The general concept is like VRChat/Second Life and even Yumi Nikki (Or YMO's Collective Unconciousness). Users generate content, create NPCs, and craft themed zones and experiences, all within an alternate dimension connected to Earth via terminals created by a company within the world (Bronze Hand Incorporated). Atlus is just one of the many users given access to this space (They often look for a particular type of person/people to give access to this space in the first place)

Are some people creators and others users? Or is everybody just an user with the ability to create?
I see Npcs are slightly more monster-ish.
Can Users tell Npcs apart from other users?
>into their worlds
Seems like he went into 4n0n's red board world. Talk about paying a bum tithe...

All users have the capacity to create if they know how to manipulate the systems within the dimension itself. In reality a lot of this can easily be seen as "Blood Magic" using sigil to create constructs that move autonomously based off of given command. However, to ease the users into something more digestible it's explained using "Code" or "Blood coding" and given a interface to match.
Users interface with the system to create NPCS, Buildings, Items, Cosmetics, ect. The more advanced the users understanding of the system the more they can do. Whether it's creating more advanced NPCs with better functionality, or creating better items and or functionalities to their individual zones/hub.
Everything in the world cost blood, the amount of blood you give when you "Log in" is pretty much the currency in your wallet. You can trade it with other users for goods and services. It's also your time allotment in the world as well. The more blood you give the more time you get, but eventually it will spit you out so your body can recover in the real world (if that makes sense.)
>4n0n's red board world
Never heard of it!
>>
>>824565
That does makes sense
As long as its blood its a little more manageable. Guess addicts to the system would be taking lots of iron supplements.
IRL we do take a while to "regen" our blood. To make it feel more grounded I suppose youd need to setup a system based on how often and how much people can donate and match that to a basic "feature" like creating an item.
Now if it was Plasma, itd be hell lol
I can see where it can get dangerous, with removing limiters and all that.
>Never heard of it
Just a cheeky joke based on the last 2 fanarts here.

Okay so how it directly works is that, you give blood IRL and your body gets transported into the world the direct process looks like Picrel or like >>823740 Once there the blood given by the user it's converted into an in world token called Ichor.
So here's how it works. You declare an amount you want to give lets say 1.5 pints. The entity controlling the terminal will look for the point on your body where it can extract the blood and take exactly that amount. It will then open a portal and you will be sucked into the Alter. Once there you will be in a completely white room that is pretty much called 'Your room" it is in intermediary space between the Alter and Earth. This space will be a home for all your trinkets and bobbles and can be customized with the things you've gained from users or anything of that nature. From there you will be given the equivalent of the blood given in tokens . (In this instance it would be about 15k Ichor) You can stay in this space for as long as you have Ichor to pay the in world daily tax (About 500 per day) From your room space you can truly enter the Alternet based off of where you last left (Or your first entry being the Hub a small city made of other users plots and buildings and services and things created by the entity that controls the space)
Wanted to mention that there is also a maintenance fee based off on user generated creations that persist such as user created zones, user created buildings, user created npcs. This amount will normally be taken away from the entry fee, but if your making money in the world it will just take it from that and bank the ichor you made.
Also time works differently in that work. a week in there is a day out in the real world type of energy.

Thank you! You're far too kind, I've sorta falling back into the motions of my usual work so it's difficult to post anything for this thread, but still it warms my heart to know people seem to enjoy what I have produced so far.
