>Are they magnets? Infohashes?
>What the hell do I do with them?
No, they're not magnets or infohashes; they're just plain old URLs that have been encoded. We're doing this to keep bots and scripts from recognizing them as URLs and harvesting/reporting them. The recap posts at the top of the threads have GIFs or WEBMs explaining how to use them. Also, some of the encoded links *may* have multiple layers - like ogres ... or onions! You might have to "peel" them more than once to get to the good part.

These are not rough sketches though. They are literally the keyframes of thaf anime.
Try searching for “sketch” on e-h. Or gengashuu 原画集 if you want more like that one. Also “design” and “design works”. Perhaps search on amazon.co.jp first then find the pirated version.

At this winter comiket, a lot of useful (or just nice) books are being published, such as the animation material books for Nukitashi and a guide on using CSP specifically for manga. Would be neat if people could stay on the lookout for those

Because some of them are from creators I've been following and thus I know what they bring to the table.
As for hoarder mentality, I do actually scan through the contents of whatever i download to see if I can gleam something new from it, wether that be actual content I hadn't encountered yet, or simply a more accessible explanation of things already somewhat familiar.
If I dont find anything useful, it gets deleted again. Even if I end up only really gaining something from a few pages of a book, hat makes it worth archiving in my eyes. Sorry you dont feel the impulse to preserve

Is anyone else having this problem with annas archive? I downloaded a few books from annas and all of the images in the book were so fucking compressed. I tried every free link to download and every download had awful low quality images when a few weeks ago the images were high quality.
And archive.org seems to have put book pdfs back into open library, I was trying to download a book, got busy and forgot about it, and when I tried to download it it said it was in the open library and so it couldnt be downloaded anymore.

Just got Framed Ink.
Same like my Bert Dodson's Keys to Drawing, also printed in China. It just feels cheap. The glue binding doesn't seem durable. It's glossy art paper. Basically can't be compared to older art books. I guess all of the cheaper (not that cheap really) artbooks will be like this.
I wonder if it's the same with hard cover Loomis, Scott Robertson, etc. I don't want to spend much money for this kind of quality.
I have morpho books. And those were nice. Just small.

1. Learn japanese.
2. Move to Japan or countries that get amazon.co.jp's free shipping.
3. Buy loomis, scott robertson, morpho, framed ink, 3dtotal, etc. JAPAN edition.
I guarantee they will be much better quality.

Glue seems the same as 90% of my books.
Marco's books are all in high gloss while Scott Robertson uses a low coated matte paper. It's the authors preference.
Many art books uses the same paper in their softbacks as their hard backs so you will definitely be disappointed if buy hardbacks. Plus I think you are more of a collector so breaking the spine to lay it out flat will emotional traumatize you. Stick to softbacks.
>>7850791
LIES! Yes English versions are printed in China and Japan versions in Japan but I have never noticed a difference. At least comparing the English versions I have at home to those they have in the store.
Regardless of where it's printed, the author choses what type of paper, coating, binding etc.
Framed Ink is still in the same high gloss coating and is the same if not similar to the english (china print) version. Only difference is the Japan print has a dust jacket.

Are you super young or something? Like you haven’t seen a good quality artbooks? Like visit a library, Taschen, or something.
I was being nice. Both Keys of Drawing and Framed Ink book are garbage. They are disgusting. It’s very close to amazon print-on-demand quality. You should not spend any money on them.
I don’t know the quality of modern artbooks printed in Japan. But my older stuff both Japanese and not were much nicer.

So... Are you recommending that I read american comics or did you just feel like saying that.
For reference, I take inspiration from classic art, Greek and roman sculpture, rennaisance era art, (some) manga, romanticism, and semi-realism in general, but my subject matter is mainly fantasy and religious (any religion)
>>
>>7859105
I don't have a particular book recommendation, but I think you'd benefit from some references: dancers and birds in flight. Did you know you can step through paused youtube videos frame by frame with the period and comma keys? This might help you catch something similar to your intended pose (or elements of it).
I think you have some great elements there that go together a bit awkwardly in places. A good photo would help you join up the parts of the human body more easily. As for wings, look up how they're really formed in birds and your result will be more convincing and beautiful. There are a few reasonable diagrams and images here:
https://falconsongstudios.com/bird-anatomy
John Muir Laws' Guide to Drawing Birds may be helpful if you're headed to the library. It's got some decent wing diagrams and a section on birds in flight, but if it were me, I'd just dig up some photos of herons landing or stretching while wading.
>>
Hello, everyone.
So I decided to learn how to draw, and a lot of people recommended that book "Drawing on the Left Side of the Brain" or something like that, I don't even remember if it was the left or right side, I just know that I bought the book, but I couldn't stand that pseudo-scientific nonsense about "sides" of the brain, that's pure garbage according to my worldview.
So my question now is: what material should I follow if I really want to learn how to draw? I want to be able to draw a hand, a simple character, an animal, but when I try these things, they turn out kinda bad, and I'm kind of embarrassed by the end result because there's clearly a severe lack of technique. I want to start training to develop technique, but I want material to follow.
Thank you.

Are there any jp books purely dedicated to drawing scenery, backgrounds, and just mundane objects in general? even with regular study i find it a bit hard to produce results similar to picrel.

Loli:
>Drawing the human body and girls | 画力デッサン 人体と女の子
Colloquially called the "Loli Loomis book", teaches the proportions and such from a more academic approach, should that suit your learning style more.
Oneshota:
>Chotto Doki Doki Suru Onnanoko no Shigusa wo Kaku Illust Pose-shuu
[サイドランチ] ちょっとドキドキする女の子の仕草を描くイラストポーズ集
This one isnt necessarily focused on oneesans specifically, but it highlights certain feminine gestures that you can pay attention to when drawing your girls in certain situations. Regardless of wether you're drawing loli, oneesan or whatever really, it helps in bringing out their femininity. It's not a tutorial or anything, just a nice reference book if you can have it for free
Both can be found on E-H
I checked my art books folder, but seems i actally dont have anything oneshota-specific. I'm sorry fren...
