It's basically the same skill you need to do good action scenes. It's fucking hard. Most hentai/porn artists skimp on that stuff or cheat in any way they can to dodge the need of actually drawing multiple characters in a complex intertwined position.

I’m getting my head around in-between cut-out and drawn animation. It’s quite simple when I’m only animating a parent object, but it quickly becomes daunting when multiple child objects have ease in/out, follow through, and drag. I don’t really have a clear workflow for this yet, and while I’d like to keep using Krita, I’m not sure how well I’ll be able to make it work.

I think the concept is good, but I'd think about the perspective and composition. The figure feels a bit flatly position in the frame so the angle is a little stiff and lifeless. You may have to play with proportion and foreshortening which can be hard to do, but that's where references can be a great help.

I really like the idea, but I think you would benefit from watching more magazine covers and thinking more like a photographer. The main issue for me is that the angle shot of the limbs doesn't match the one of the torso. The torso looks taken on a straight on shot and the limbs look more like a 45 high angle shot.

Take more time sketching and playing around with the idea.

No curvature to the spine makes the pose extremely stiff.
Rear leg is a lot longer than the front leg, it looks like you drew the legs on without considering the angle of the hips.
The breasts look like they connect to her shoulder bones rather being attached to the pectorals.
Torso proportions just off in general, wide shoulders but literally no hips despite having a big butt.

I disagree radically regarding hips. I don't understand what hips you expect to see with a pose like this, the hips sink into your body in an any arrow-like position unless one is a skeleton. I am no anime-girl but when I do anything like this my hips disappear

Other anon here, values look ok to me. But there are issues with inconsistent soft and hard edges when moving from light to shadow. Consider if a shadow is a cast or form shadow (+ is it sun light, a studio light etc.). For example on the right boob the strip of cloth is casting a hard shadow which is correct but the actual form shadow should be soft, like you've done on the guy's thighs. If you want to render further check if you have all the basic light information on each of your forms (picrel)

Light values = shadows. You struggle with shadows on characters. There's nothing else to explain, the only way to improve here is to produce actual copies and understand technique through your own muscles, not absorbing theory and sitting on ass. Here's an example of flat shading by an experienced guy. He has better understanding of shapes, hence why his shading will be better even if he uses only flats. And the picrelated guy is still far from pinnacle, there are very high pros who can achieve excellent depth on a picture using only flats

I guess you could say that but it's very nitpicky, usually when values are discussed it's about the relation ship of the shadow and light families. Something good to understand as well is that the terminator decides when something is in shadow or in light. Even if a surface is at 89 degrees it's still lit by that light source. Your pic also has very by-the-feel shading, it looks nice but the lighting scenario isn't "correct" similarly to anon's art, which I think is totally fine but kinda undermines your point. Also if that's far from the pinnacle and you know some master, just use them as an example, no?

As an outside observer if you're going to be so laconic and rude with your feedback you should at least do a quick paintover. Part of the reason people are confused is because you're misusing terms. When people say you need to work on your values, they usually mean compositionally, like light groups and dark groups. You're talking about shading and 3-D structure, which is a different thing altogether. Anyway, I think the biggest reason the left breast looks flat is because the clothing isn't draped on it properly.
