WIP bump. Need to get out of the house and clear my head a bit before I come back to it. Really like the way the light hits the eyes in the reference. Having trouble guaging how dark to make the shadow side of the face and how light to make the light side.

also if i'm being honest a bigger part of it is that I just tend to drop the basic principles of rendering after 10 minutes. Tried it again and actually took my time, keeping shapes/values/edges/light on dark in mind and it already turned out a lot better. not good by any means but better.
