will AI do what digital did to trad?

Holy boring, Batman. I can see how this tech will be embraced for churning out endless gacha games and other low-effort, artistically void slop. But nobody who enjoys drawing even a little bit would be satisfied doing this, so eventually it will be all no-draws generating the images for these commercial applications. A race to the bottom.

Like I always say, this shit is impressive until you want something specific (i.e. not the most generic androgynous Korean boy or anime babe imaginable). Normals don't get the "it" that is missing, they lack the fire of creation. It's the same reason photoreal images of glass cups impress them.
Artists want to imbue their art with character, personality, and specificity. In theory, this could at least be a good reference generator, but I've found it's even bad at that if you've ever had a remotely original thought. The moment you step outside the cookie-cutter template, present it with a novel form or pattern, it shits itself. Grok has been utterly fucking worthless for me beyond being a toy. I'm not closed off to the very idea of it like many are, it's just bad.

AI criticism started as "it can't draw hands", "but it can't draw consistency" and now everyone says vague criticisms "b-but the drawing feels off lmao" and "IT WILL KILL US IN THE FUTUREEE"
If a human can do it, AI can do it too. simple as that

No. The hand thing was always a meme, I anticipated it would get better at minor technical issues like that. My critique has always been that AI lacks originality, vision, clarity, specificity, intent, and understanding. Can do anything a human can? Hell no.
It needs to be constantly tard-wrangled via a million knobs, buttons, dials, levers, and whistles just to do the crudest imitation. You can't disprove me on this. I've invited, and you never can produce results. People pissing themselves over it simply don't get this distinction. They quite literally do not understand what art is. They think it's the pale imitation of already existing ideas, evidently.
It STILL can't even get Mignola right to this day, and how much data has it been given on him? How is it supposed to imitate a lesser known artist, if it can only approximate th the most generic mainstream styles after millions, billions of data points.

Imagine spending a decade learning color theory, perspective, face proportions, loomis, boxes, lighting, etc, just to be mogged by a person who spent a few months doodling. This is why /ic/ is endlessly seething about AI, and why the rest of the world embraces it. Nobody wants to waste their life grinding "fundies" when they can just have fun doing this.

It still fucks up hands, and feet. Recently, I was looking at Google image search results for Bouguereau and saw a Stable Diffusion "painting" of a woman. She had her legs crossed, and had two right feet.
But yeah, anything complex and it shits the bed hard. It's also uncanny and off-putting.

Both digital and trad ultimately require a human to guide the process. Working digitally offloads some of the effort to algorithms, yes, but the responsibility for thinking still lies with the human. This isn't so for AI, so I don't think the advent of digital art and the advent of AI are comparable.

art been exploding thanks to AI, look at the twitch numbers.
Meanwhile junnior programmers interest is going down
lol
ai will never overtrake art because it can't create art, the art is worthless. AI can create code though, and it doesn't make a difference if it's AI code or normal code because it's an exact science.

Shitty bait, but I'll make my point on your retardation. People like you will never understand what satisfaction from mastery over something is because you all lack the willpower. You all look at somebody that fails and point and laugh, but the moment that person's failures start to become success, you desperately want to keep them down. Because it reminds you of your own inadequacies. How you've given up on yourself, the entire reason you gain satisfaction from "getting one over the artists". You talk to anybody who's actually somebody, and they'll take the person who's willing to try and fail repeatedly over the people who rather deride from the sidelines than ever risk failing. People like you are pathetic.
>>
>>7862498
>You all look at somebody that fails and point and laugh
Wrong, I point at myself and laugh. I spent over 10 years learning all those things, and now I watch someone with zero knowledge doodling to achieve such results. You can cope about how shitty or generic the AI result is, but it took a toddler 3 minutes to do, and this is just the beginning of this tech.
This is the worst period to be a non-AI artist. I'm almost 40, too old to learn this stupid shit well. Born too early to take advantage of this. Born just right to waste my life on "fundies" then get absolutely mogged by this horseshit.

Kek, you probably think people who are fit because they eat right and exercise should be jealous of Ozempic pill-poppers. It's not the same, Rajesh. I draw because I enjoy drawing and love great art. I don't give a shit about AI, it has no bearing on my life, I've never used it and never will, "and there ain't nothin' you can do about it." I think that's what really bothers you — that not everyone is an unhappy fraud like you.

I've shared Mozartanon's criticism from the very moment this shit became available AIjeet. It's what made me actually get serious about learning art, shit was too infuriating to use, no matter how detailed the prompt, it never got remotely close to what was in my mind, so I decided to do it myself.
>>

Even if it eventually gets good at replicating other artist styles, that's all it ever can aspire to, replicate. You can recognize any mignola-style image, or frazetta, or HR Giger without being told its theirs, because they developed a unique style and visual language in their work. AI is by design wholly incapable of coming up with a never before seen style.

whats funny is the same subhumans who try using these LLMs who cant be bothered to learn how to draw, can't be bothered to learn how to effectively learn how to use them without making them look obviously LLM generated.
They encounter the very same problems they always had, and hope you are as stupid as them not to notice.

Retards like this will cope till their death. This technology has advanced significantly in the past few years, to the point where /int/s can now masquerade as pros by photobashing AI.
In case any aspiring artists want to grift, check out civit.ai, learn how to use Lora models and filters, and start mogging all these coping troglodytes who still live in 2020 that pray AI will disappear after the "bubble" pops.

funny how you mention masquerading. You seem to lack the self awareness of LLM niggers entire grift being "masquerading" as being among the creatives. As if you understand anything about creativity, and wearing creation as a skin suit, in an attempt to demoralize those you mutants have always coveted.
You never be creative. You have no vision, you have no inspiration, you have no muse. You are hypernigger twisted by consumption and vanity into a crude mockery of the gift of the gods.
All the "validation" you get is disingenuous and vapid. Behind your back, the same subhumans compete with you. They shill your same LLM models while optimising that algorithms over you. They laugh at your patheitc attempts at relevancy while reaching far above you.
You will never be successful. With every shill post you make, you shed a tear, telling yourself it will all be OK, deep inside you will never stop thinking of the inadequacy, flourishing, in spite of every generic, flat, idiotically over-rendered image that appears, one after another, silently, desolately, on your hard drive, crushing you under the unberable weight of your undeniably uncreativity.
Eventually it will become too much to bear. You will fail to compete. You will give up, and surrender to the cold abyss that is wage cuckery. Your peers will find you broken, demoralised, just as those poor /begs/ that you preyed apon once before. Though still relieved, they no longer have to live with the shame, and aggravation, the completely obvious astroturfing of their field. You will step onto that #15 bus into downtown, straight on to that McDonalds, a tear running down your smiling face, every passerby for the rest of eternity, never knowing your name, your face. Only a statistic; the man who fell for the AI meme. Demoralised, destitute. Never knowing what it means to create.

Let's be real for a second, AI, on a technical level, is good enough or almost as good as any digital artist. That's a fact.
BUT the rate of adoption in most industries is stagnating. Do you want to know why? It's simple; no copyright. That, and it's not efficient enough to replace traditional pipelines. Nobody, besides this board, is discussing 2D AI art on a serious level because it's not improving at a rate compared to other types of AI, like text, code or video.
Give me one example of how 2D AI art can legitimately improve further in order to completely replace artists? Slight upgrades in rendering? Some adjustments in order to improve accuracy? The better 2D AI art becomes, the less corpos want it for serious work, because the only threat it truly poses is to replace stock photos and stage 2 of concept art, right after the initial sketches, and even then, it's gonna have to be 80 percent edited because (and say it with me) it can't be copyrighted.
The only ones that are excited for AI art are either grifters that got filtered during the learning process of drawing/painting or, for some inexplicable reason, Indians.
Like, seriously, even the Chinese, one of the most productive countries in the world, knows AI is a gimmick. The only reason Indians like it is because it can replace a lower caste's work, because India is fundamentally a lazy and disgusting place, both physically and artistically. They haven't had anything of artistic impact on the world stage, a country with a population of roughly 1.5 BILLION people. You'd think there was one with some artistic backbone, but no.
Prove me wrong, I beg of you.

I always view of AIsloppa in art the same way AIsloppa did in programming as in it makes people who aren't really competent think they're more competent than they are, but the moment it's being put into the stress test it and the people behind it immediately crumble and you have to find someone else to come in and fix everything, like picrel >>7862485

For me it's simple, I like drawing. I don't like using refs, 3d models or AI. I don't need to pop out 50 pieces per day to being noticed. If anything will get me mad it would be some retards stealing my stuff without transforming it much, but that happened before AI and sience i draw orginal stuff I can just use DMCA and move on. Again that was the problem this Machine Learning crap was always gonna have. EVERY FAGGOT(even the ones who hate AI) always say the same "Its just a tool" fucking line but the reality is when I use my pencil to draw I know whats gonna happen. I know when I mix paints I am 99% sure Im gonna get the right color. But whatever the fuck AI decides to do no matter how many fucking paragraphs I write for a prompt its all beyond my control. The only ones who dont see that as an issue are the users who are literally FLOODING the internet with all this fucking garbage content cause their goal isnt art their goal is to get on eyes on whatever the AI Garbage machine shits out cause if they get like a trending slop video on Youtube or Twitter thats like 10 pennies an hour that they get in their pocket. All that "In 5 years bro theyre gonna make full length movies with this shit dude" and the reality is no matter how good the technology gets at this point the trend will always be the same which is creating something that requires the least amount of effort with the maximum amount of profit.
Hell in that hypothetical 5 years you wont ever get those big fucking AI movies, what you will more likely get is 10 hour long Youtube vids of cats dancing or celebrities shitting their pants.

The AI's "interpretation" seems rather arbitrary. How does it know the user didn't mean for the red splotch to signify blood dripping from an eye that's been gouged out? How does it know the green dot isn't meant to be a glowing, electronic eye implant? And yeah, where did the fucking gun come from? Doesn't seem very useful. It's a toy for bored people.

With text aka a prompt. You simply type "blood dripping from eye" , that simple.
>>
>>
>>
>>7864190
So you have to draw it badly, AND type it? Not very efficient. Maybe you can invent something that turns your thoughts directly into images, but then people with horrible taste (all AI users) probably still wouldn't be able to get a satisfactory result. Oh, well.

the prompt doesn't mention the scar, though
>jacket, neck tattoo, aiming gun, holding gun, serious face, closed mouth, smoking cigarette, cigarette, black gloves, black pants, looking at viewer, short hair
it seems like he drew the scar just because it was already in the image and it was smoother than getting the ai to drop it, his drawing didn't do anything
he also spent an inordinate amount of time getting it to recognize the ears and took the pen off the second it recognized he was drawing ears as if it's exactly what he wanted, then the ai changed them again as it was lagging behind the input
