Can i grow my online presence without using twitter?
My issue with twitter, is how full its artists sphere is of: politics, trans/gay activists, pornography, furry garbage, rage bait. I dont want to mix myself into these people… i use instagram already but that doesn’t seem to do much.

ik twitter is annoying but just give less of a shit and go anywhere u want. if u dont wanna mix in with those people, then dont. being on twitter doesnt automatically trans u or some shit and you dont HAVE to interact w people u dont wanna. and so what if one of them likes ur post or follows u or whatever. "i went online and saw fags, furries, and porn!1!!1!!" ok you cant escape that so just get used to it

Instagram is full of female retards who circle jerk their trash art into oblivion aimlessly hating on ai when it could actually help them improve
Just post yourself in the socials thread and hope for the best, the Renaissance of internet art is on the horizon if you're good enough you will "blow up"

>Can i grow my online presence without using twitter?
Yes. But I'm guessing your actual question is:
>Can i grow my online presence to twitter numbers without using twitter?
And the answer is NO. Almost everyone uses or browses X/Twitter to some extent. And even if you somehow become famous outside of that platform, eventually your fans will ask you to make an account on it so more people discover your art.
>My issue with twitter, is how full its artists sphere is of: politics, trans/gay activists, pornography, furry garbage, rage bait. I dont want to mix myself into these people
Don't be retarded. Almost everyone uses or browses the platform. X/Twitter is for people from all points in the political spectrum: from fascists to communists, from hippies to ancaps, from LGBT activists to misanthropic doll fuckers, from sparkle gay furries to HMOFA furry chuds.
Everyone is on it.
The key for them to coexist is to choose who they associate with, and to block and ignore those they can't get along with.
Tl;dr: Use X/Twitter, follow the people you like, block whoever attacks you in the comments or in QRTs, and ignore the people you don't like.
It's really that simple.
"Guilt by association" is a spook, a fallacy. Besides, X/Twitter is for everyone.

checkmark gives you a big boost, art mutuals are kinda what's gonna put you out there but since you hate gays and you draw nazi shit I don't know how that's gonna go since most artists lean left, maybe if you had an anime style it would be easier

I can draw anime… I have a deep resentment for what the liberal progressive did to the beauty of the woman, and what more they did to the traditional art style. I can draw anime but I just hate how boring it is. It’s not innovative you’re right though that it will be a very difficult for me but to be honest I would rather take that challenge then have to change my whole art around for them to like it more.

>Can i ask what to do for the growth?
1. Post art and often, preferably finished pieces. Most people browsing are not artists and thus don't understand or appreciate the process like an artist would.
2. Follow and comment on the posts of artists you like and would like to establish a pseudo friendship/tacit association (mutual promotion) with. Retweet their art too, but be measured (posts with art that isn't yours shouldn't heavily outnumbers posts with your art).
If they reciprocate your attention consider making a really good drawing of one of their OCs (QRT one of their drawings) and see if the artist reweets it.
3. Unless your plan is to draw political comics or aim for a specific political group within X/Twitter, avoid talking about politics and politics related news.
Otherwise, you could either go full chud (Overtly political art), moderatelly chuddy (subtly but noticeably political art), or low-key chud (E.g. Western comics about anime girls doing doing conventionally feminine things and acting in a traditional or conventionally feminine way. Or being silly and cute while occasionally signalling a chud wink).
4. Become aware of the current art trends and memes on the platform. Every couple weeks or so a new art meme takes over part of X/Twitter and it gives artists the excuse to partake in it and possibly gain a lot of followers and engagement from it.
5. From time to time draw fan art of popular characters. Don't only do that (otherwise your audience will come to expect you to do it constantly), but occasionally fan art helps and can bring new eyes on your page.
6. Don't engage in online fights. They're stupid and can only damage your reputation (even if you win an argument it'll put a lot of people off). The people who follow artists for their art don't give a flying fuck about drama or their personal problems, so don't make your page a boxing ring or a place you litter with things the viewers don't care about.

7. Avoid talking about things that aren't art or related to art at all.
E.g. Don't do like many japanese artists that litter their page with all kinds of random shit like gacha pulls or whatever they ate at a restaurant for lunch. NOBODY CARES. Whoever is looking at your art at the moment is there for your drawings.
Commenting about video games or cartoons or things like that COULD be related to your art if you're interested in making fan art based on it. Otherwise it's better to refrain from wasting space with that. Which leads us to the next point:
8. If you really want to talk about other things, make a separate X/Twitter account for non-art related stuff. Then again, unless your intentional is making political stuff, avoid talking politics.
Likewise, if you make NSFW and SFW art and want to have them separate, consider making two accounts (This however assuming your output is so high you could keep the interest of the followers of two accounts, otherwise it's better to keep it in one).
Good luck.

>preferably finished pieces
ehh... debatable, doodles and wips sometimes do even better than an actual finished piece, I would also say that captions can even make people rt or engage than just posting the art piece alone.

might not be a popular answer but i have drawing people on reddit for and 3 months and have 100 followers + a discord where we talk about games and drawing. i lifted and shifted along with this 100 people to twitter, and retained about 10% in the move, 3 months later, up to about 1,200. the process is basically to just spam draw in the drawme subs while putting personal work on your page, that's all. yes you don't about the things to want to avoid by default, but you can curate your experience.

It depends on the case, but fair enough.

9. Beware of people on X/Twitter trying to bait you or force you into talking politics or making a political stance.
E.g. Random people (even followers) asking you "What do you think about (current politically charged news)?".
Either ignore them or deflect their attempts by stating you don't watch the news or follow politics. It's always better to pass off as ignorant or apolitical than to express a political point or stance.
Why? Because if you express a political opinion then those posters (or others) will keep inquiring and trying to bait you or push you into making a more extreme or controversial statement and "taking a side" between them and everyone else, which of course would be detrimental to you.
Also don't fall making a moderate statement either. The baiters will then call you a "centrist" and continue pestering you to move towards one end of the political spectrum.
Besides, all talking politics would do is ALIENATE part of your potential audience and with no gain for you. Because even if an artist decides to be a bit political, eventually their new politicized followers will try to POLICE the artist into following a certain ideological stance, and try to cancel the artist if they deviate from it even slightly.
Political activists online always seek to force consensus between their ranks, they DON'T CARE about the individual or nuanced or moderate takes.
Tl;dr: Always avoid politics.
Another more subtle example of baiting:
Commenter: "Your character looks trans"
Best answer (assuming the character isn't): Say nothing and ignore. And if they keep pestering you about it and directly ask you if they're trans or not, say they're female (or male depending the case) and nothing more.
Whatever they do with their life is none of your business. You get to decide what your characters are. If they don't like it they can draw fanart.

10. Always be cordial when dealing with people through your X/Twitter account. Be assertive rather than aggressive.
Depending your chosen image as an artist (E.g. If you're amateur it makes sense your communication style would be more personal/informal instead of cold and professional), adjust the way you write.
If you're presenting yourself as a learning artist you should act in a humble way. Even if you're pro level it's always better to not get it to your head and never act as if you're above the rest.
Everyone loves the underdog and humble experts. Nobody likes arrogant people even if they're super competent at what they do.
11. Avoid "audience capture". I.e. Your followers railroading you into only drawing certain things.
This is difficult but necessary, otherwise you'll end up becoming a one-trick pony and eventually everyone will get bored of it.
12. Always keep learning. Just because your art is perfectly good enough for you audience it doesn't mean you should stay where you are. Don't fear your style changing, it's better for it to evolve with your technical skills than to stagnate and keep its audience content.
You can always get new followers in the future.
13. Don't stress over the follower count or other metrics.
As long as you get better at drawing and creating and telling stories (the main appeal of art) your art will sooner or later reach its potential audience.
When you reach high int and pro levels many of the artists you're currently following will probably be happy to cross promote your art.
It's just a matter of technical quality and visual appeal.
That's about it.
