google lens has decent translations, but you need to ensure that you keep blocks of text separate in the frame sometimes, since lens can sometimes interpret 2 separate lines as a part of the same context, which can give really bizarre translation results. otherwise, it's fine. i say "machine translation sucks ass" when compared to just having a native friend (im blessed to have a bro in discord that i met years ago in VRchat that can clarify korean translations if i ever need it), but tbph google lens/gemini gets you 90% of the way there most of the time, japanese or korean or even mandarin - doesn't really matter

It's crazy how far machine translation has come in just a few years. Images (like manga and PDFs) are a bit harder because the LLM doesn't get the whole context, but I imagine you could have it parse a set of images first and then translate the text for you.

1. Have 2 layers with the same pic. 2. Use Brightness and Contrast to remove Color depth, contrast to max, and then adjust Brightness until the page looks good. 3. Use multiply on that layer so it mixes with the one below for the most subtle grays, and maybe also remove color depth from that one. Ta-dah!
