Also what do you guys think of my friend? I wasn't sure what to do with the background so I just used a textured brush that I found in the drawing program but I think it looks nice! I'm not quite happy with how the rendering on the skin is turning out, but I'm happy that I learned something from this piece :)

I think I'm going to study more basic rendering techniques and do some studies of fruit or smth before I try another piece this complicated again.

Try to draw your OC with as few lines as possible thinking more in terms of your silhoutte rather than roughing it out. Compartmentalize - think "What is the minimal/efficient insinuation of my design?". Lean into that.

I once daydreamt a psychological horror anime version of NiGHTS, where kids in some region start tweaking out sharing the same dreams - they bring out a specialist and for the first couple of episodes they don't show NiGHTS, upon the reveal (through experimental therapeutic technology used to transcribe dreams) it is a depleted creature trying its best to hold together the collective psyche by itself and failing.

Figured each episode would focus on an emergent social anxiety of the 2010's retroactively predicting the now and speculative future, maybe in the tone of Lain or Paranoia Agent. Not sure of how I would approach it, but I think I might draft a few storyboards.

Oh wow, that head really is an issue, huh? I spent a long time redrawing the face - I'm pretty faceblind - so I didn't consider that the proportions look strange. I really should stop drawing them from such low angles - I never know where to put the cranium. I tend to draw people ganglier than they exist in reality, but I'm not sure if I overdid it here.

Thanks for the input. Mehitable's arms in particular are very long - just part of her character, though people keep pulling me aside and saying they're wrong, which I can't tell is because they think I'm doing it wrong by accident or if they just think it looks bad. Por que no los dos? Will work on those legs, and in fact, it's time for a full redo of all my proportions. I studied them hard when I started but that was years ago, and I've let my know-how slip.
