most asian countries are purposefully devaluing their currency by massive amounts to tip the trade balance and to reduce budget deficits (pay people less if government revenue is derived from things sold on the global market)
russia and kazakhstan make more on resource exports every year than their entire money supply, china has like +1.2 trillion dollars yearly. basically the governments are swimming in money but the people suffer, on the other hand western governments and especially those in the eu are living way beyond their means and have insane debt but at least the people are rich. uk, french and spannish economies are basically dead now
