Would it be easier or harder for (you) to start and maintain a large family in Gensokyo?

I wouldn't be deprived of my human rights for loving the woman I love in Gensokyo, unlike here. I would just be with Her

>Most youkai are really immature
It's not like human women are much better, you can't really call Reimu/Marisa/Sakuya/... mature either.
If anything the Youkai have shown the some maturity, at least compared to humans.
>possessive
I fail to see the problem.

Well, you'll probably regret that when your youkai 'wife' sees you talking to any women

Easy question, it would be easier. In most countries today children are an economic burden on their parents. You have to pay for their food, their clothes, their shelter, and so forth but have few opportunities to economically exploit them. In the past and still the present in some countries today like Ghana children are generally economic boons. If you’re a farmer more kids means more hands to till your fields and harvest your crops, and if you’re a worker in a city laxer child labor laws means another potential source of income. Through their labor which you compel them to do children bring you more food and more money than you spend on them. They’re profitable. In a modern country like the United States child labor is officially outlawed with very few industries they can work in, and much of their waking hours are already spent on school so the parent has very few opportunities to exploit their labor. Even if the parent attempts to do so they will get diminishing returns because the child is already exhausted from school.
The temple schools report low attendance and Gensokyo is a capsule of Japan’s past, so they are likely in an area where children are profitable rather than economically burdensome.

how would you buy groceries?
or how would you spend time im Geidontei?

>how would you buy groceries?
It largely depends on which Youkai is your wife.
In my case though, even if I was allowed it wouldn't make much of a difference since I'll live so far away from the human village anyway.
So either she'll get them, or maybe the tengu have their own market?
>how would you spend time im Geidontei
I wouldn't, though maybe you could ask your wife to take you there after-hours with the other youkai.

You guys wouldn't really be okay with just getting locked up in some youkai's basement because that's what she expects a husband to do, would you? Remember, you won't have internet access or even a computer.

Do you think your kids would ask questions when they grow up a little? Then again, maybe the youkai genes would win out and they'd see this as a totally normal relationship.

Anon, you're still outside of the human village.
She's just going to capture you for her own purposes.

Maybe it's better to entrust yourself to the Moriya Shrine? Sanae is a nice girl! Kanako and Suwako will definitely protect you too from any weird youkai or suspicious humans trying to take you away. Plus, what kind of idiot travels alone and chats with youkai? Sorry, but Sanae can't have your death on her conscience. You'll have to take responsibility.

Sanae is a nice girl, but she must know what would happen.

I don't speak japanese, I can't get a job, I can't buy food or a home, and I need food and shelter, so I have to make do with the creepy forest and their rabbits, rain covering trees and lakes that host mermaid freaks that want to drown you.

You're just fueling Sanae's hero complex even more! Clearly, you're better off staying with her. Permanently.
