2 was excellent mechanically, even for non-2hu fans. Though the "dungeon" itself was very boring, a literal white grid with some hazards occasionally.
3 massively improved the look/feel of the dungeon but I haven't gotten to play past the demo yet so I can't comment on its long term depth.
>>
While I am excited to play another game in this series (the first two were great) I am sad to know that my favorite almost certainly did not make the roster.
So I probably won't be as motivated as I could be to finish this time. I owe the guy at least a few of dollars after thousands of hours in the prequels.

Man he really went all out with the random UI effects. Glad he at least added an option to turn off the hitstop from the demo.

It's just icons and backgrounds I have no fucking idea why 3peso decided to do this, he could have just reused BGs from 2 and icons can be whatever. Game is great but now whenever I rec it people go "AIslop aaaaaaaaaaaaa"...

Kinda disappointed that after all the delays we didn't get new artwork for everyone.
Also is it me or are normal enemies harder than they were in 2? I'm returning to base much more often and even got defeated a few times because I couldn't deal with multiple transforming enemies in time.Renko is very cute and I hope I can keep her after I get Reimu back
>>
>>
>>50624653
The AI is only used for a handful of backgrounds and icons and even then they are being replaced by real art in updates. Played for 8 hours and didn't even notice anything looking off.
>>50625764
Glad it isn't just me, some enemy spawns just beat my ass. I love it, makes my asshole pucker every encounter

Alright the upgrade system is cool but I might have fucked myself for lunatic cirno starting out.
If you make an item +1, it consumes that item and all future items will now be +1. So if you had like 5 power bracers, now you have 4 power bracer +1s
Though if you only had one... well, goodbye for now power bracer.

That's a nice info.
I'm playing Hard now and already on the 3rd floor. The skill effects are too flashy for me just like Pachinko, but I found the system quite enjoyable like 2. Hopefully the bosses are more fun.

Boy howdy Marisa was a tough fight and this is still pretty early in the game, too. I do like how these games, on Hard/Lunatic, just show you a bullshit situation and tell you to figure it out with the tools provided. In this case the puzzle ended up not being too hard but it still feels satisfying to put all the pieces together to win. In this case the solution to the puzzle ended up being "Stack Patchy's MND as high as possible" but still.

Cirno is raping the shit out of me on hard mode. What am I supposed to do when there's level caps and literally no options early on? Just grind money for stats? I am assuming that those stats gets capped due to hard mode as well
Alice does some awesome damage but the fight is still RNG, my best attempt lost with Fagrno at just 4% HP

She's good enough she's considered an "elite" character, of which you can (initially) only have one of in your party at a time. I haven't used her much because of this since Hecatia is a lot easier to use, but she seems to have a strong gimmick based around WRY, which basically means she's an expert at making hitting an enemy's weakness hurt even harder. She also has a very specialized pair of spells that reduces the value of Damage Taken Down and Damage Inflicted Up buffs on enemies, which is EXTREMELY useful when it comes up. Looking at her future skills she gets a very funny ultimate spell that hits every single element at the same time, and can be enhanced to deal 2% of max HP as fixed extra damage which sounds like it's going to be super powerful in the late late game. Because of her weakness hitting gimmick she also gets a lot of elemental coverage even before her funny ultimate.
>>
>>50633761
She was adjusted in the newest patch tonight along with a shitload of QoL and performance boosts
>[Balance] Further adjusted a certain Lv 27 Hard/Lv 23 Lunatic boss.
> This boss's final attack should be less difficult to survive compared to how it was in ver1.005. However, in return, the rest of the fight leading up until that point has been made a little harder.
>>
>>
>>50635564
Her other damage spells also do extra damage if the enemy has debuffs or ailments while also extending the duration of the ailments or power of the debuffs. Her purpose is to bully bosses.
All the elite characters are very strong and honestly justify the party limit.

Theres invisible paths where you can just walk off the map into other areas/chests.

You get Kanako pretty soon who can be built like a brick house.
Momiji later is an obvious choice who will my favorite pick.
I see Mokou and Tenshi also comes much later and Mokou was a really gimmicky tank in 2 but very good at that gimmick. Haven't gotten far enough to get them yet.

Oh god, 3Peso basically nuked Satori out of orbit. She grabs random spells, random element is buffed every turn, she CAN remove spell conditionals but only up to 30 Mana cost and only on lvl 90 even then.
At least the game's drop values are mental so it should not be too hard to get there even casually.
>>
>>50639724
Her offensive stats are very high though. She usually does more damage than most of my party and her own skills are good enough so I almost never have turns where I have nothing to do with her. I like her.

Wow, I didn't think anyone would still be around on the board that'd be interested in playing the game, especially since the thread about the demo bombed. Figured once the hacks happened and also the /v/tourists made a homebase on this board any interesting discussion would be dead forever but I guess not. Nice.
>>50638551
She's shockingly good in this game. I was expecting her to be an ok meatshield, but even when I only stacked her full of HP she was able to at least do some degree of chip damage with her spell's damage calculations being as good as they are. If Nitori didn't exist she'd be my Ouroboros user easily, or maybe stacked with... I believe it was Ogre Club's with 50%ATK and 24% HP? Momiji having the counter and damage reduction just barely puts her out over Meiling for me at the moment, but I imagine that'll change once I start digging deep intothe last of the three "mini" dungeonslater today.
>>50638439
Early on the big stopping points are Sunstones and Bronze Ingots. Even if you go in knowing you should never craft any sub equipment unless you desperately need it for an unlock or major stat improvements for a boss, you'll still end up getting shafted. Moonstones are used waaaaaay less.
>>50636161
The invisible paths are usually marked and by a certain point the markings become more and more obvious, even without getting into the part where you've cleared out a map but are still missing a chest. THAT specific floor has a chest that's a fucking bitch though because it's one of the only two I've seen that has an unmarked teleporter pad. Thankfully I haven't encountered any teleporter mazes yet but that thought filled me with fear and was only doubled down on once I got to Swamp 3. Dear god, Swamp 3...
>>50639724
>>50639850
Personally haven't started using her yet but she feels like a character who starts really ramping up after level 64, or whatever the unlock is after level 50, at least from a glance at her skill tree. Just having that one skill at 36 I think it was where it pumps her POW of any cloned spells by 16 already immediately makes her an insanely powerful character. The only thing I wanna know is if her spells will carry over passive unlocks, like those skills that add a SHK effect to spells, since they are technically a different character's passives but they also modify the spells themselves. I imagine that they would but again, haven't tried her yet.
>>
>>50640222
Shit I only noticed this post after I wrote up my autistic essay. Anyways, the thing to keep in mind with Swamp 3 is making a mental or physical map of the different areas and how many blocks they have, because generally speaking you can carry over pretty much any block from any part of the map to other parts. So for example, if you spend 2 blocks to get to an area that has that arrangement of a "checkboard" of 4 holes and 5 blocks, you can push in one of the corner blocks to the top hole and the middle block into the bottom hole and give yourself access to 3 extra blocks. So you get +1 block. If you figure out where to spend blocks to get access to other areas to let you get more extra blocks, you can solve basically any part of any puzzle on the map. I believe at one point I was moving three blocks across the entire map as my extra's just because I was retarded and wanted to turn a one block passageway into a square that'd allow me to push a block a different horizontal direction.
It doesn't seem required for any chests but it immensely helped me when I was trying to solve some of the puzzles because as mentioned, I'm fucking retarded with sokoban puzzles. Also, if it's the bottom right, I BELIEVE it's a set of Atelier Tools, so you have to do it anyways.

Unfortunately not, she only copies the base spell. If she did she would honestly be the best character in the game, especially since her own skills and passives are already pretty good.

I haven't gotten to Sakuya myself yet, but based on anon's post about low damage AOE's another alternative you might wanna look into is stacking defense against that attack type specifically and using Momiji, who'll cut the damage by I think it was 15%?
>>
>>
>>50640277
In general on Lunatic I've found that the basic winning strategy is designate one character as "the one who will do the damage", based on what the enemy is weakest to, and everyone else is dedicated to making sure that character stays alive and buffed while dealing with any gimmicks the fight presents.

Any idea how to get to this Lava area chest? I've been trying to clear out every Nightmare's floor/dungeon before I fully move onto the next since there doesn't seem to be any ladder shenanigans but this one has me completely stumped. I know it's not a Dream and pretty sure it's not an Atelier Tool upgrade since I've already gotten both of the ones on this floor, butice, or in this case fire, sliding puzzles without the map saying exactly where the obstructions areis fucking with me so hard I gave up.

Damn, some real crazy players on here, I'm still in lavatown. Hey, spoil me, does this game have anything like the generic additional skill trees the previous game did? I really liked the added character building complexity those added, but they would probably not be strictly necessary with the increased skill tree complexity and I feel like I'm already well over the 50% mark of the game, so...

What items specifically do you need for the seal onTenshi in Sakuya's nightmareto unlock? It says apple, cinnamon and wine, but I've brought Sunny Apples, Homemade Wine, and I think a Berry Cinnamon Sangria or whatever it was called into the area and the seal still didn't unlock for me. Likewise, I checked to see if there was anything that could be made from those items in case she wants something that's a combination of all three in one but I couldn't find it, since I've still gotta unlock about half of the menu.

Hope you like her, I find her extremely fun in Tri. She is still built like a brick wall, only now even tanker, spams Provoke, has a plethora of delayed Spells so you have time to buff her and you can throw Skill Points to give her a pretty disgusting HO growth.
>>
>>
>>50644750
Builds are flexible but obviously some characters are better at a job than others, like you're not gonna make Marisa into a left side tank, at least not without a comedic amount of money spent pumping her stats.
I ran Keine as my early game tank rather than Meiling because she has cheap DEF boosts and formation swapping bonuses which were more useful than Meiling's self healing that kinda sucked anyway.

Is Wriggle's kit just badly conceived? Half of her spells need stack(s) that you only get through poisoned party members and almost every upgrade she has is working against upkeeping it (the mechanic itself eats it, resistance up on the left, the one self-inflict has effect removal mid-tree), and there's no passive gain
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>50645869
Her kit's mostly fine, I think the only really problematic node is the self-poison immunity
Toxic Absorption doesn't completely remove poison so you'd still want to mitigate it from your party members as much as possible with the left side nodes
That said, she's really good as poison is extremely strong against bosses that aren't immune to it, that immunity node really needs to go though
>>50645932
Nah I think you're just poisoning yourself
