Why DDC? It's the most generic Touhou game. Nothing about it is particularly memorable. Even ZUN seems to have memoryholed it.

The most generic Touhou game is EoSD, DDC has a super fun collection mechanic that rewards aggressive, risky movement. Not that you'd know though, you gotta play the games to know this stuff.

Seija's flipping gimmick was pretty unique. And like the other anon pointed out, you're heavily incentivized to play forward to get bonuses from the point of collection.

Personally I didn't like that mechanic, once you got the hang of it the game becomes trivial.
Not the DDC is too hard in the first place.

02/02/26(Mon)16:05:25 No.50640688 Both the stage 4 bosses really ruin DDC for me. They're probably the least fun bosses I've come across throughout the whole series so far, though I haven't played every game on Lunatic yet.
I don't mind difficulty, since Kagerou is in the same game and I found her fun, but both the sisters just have too much boring overly RNG heavy trash alongside strange hitboxes for their bullets.
Rest of the game is fine, Shinmy is probably one of the more fun final bosses for me.

But I bet there's fun in optimizing your stage routes for the early game. I never did no bomb for DDC so I didn't have to care much to farm resources well.
