The new rule truly is terrible. The other threads on this board also became even lower quality, as if it wasn't bad already. I wonder if /blog/ can stay alive at this point if a new thread has to be made this often.

what rule are you guys talking about? i don't come here too often. part of the appeal of /jp/ for me is that i can let a thread sit for a few weeks and return to it...
>>
>>50639068
Maybe someone else can show exact, written proof about this rule but I've seen it myself with this thread and others on /jp/ where it'll just autosage and die after 14 days, especially without activity. This is bad because the point of /jp/ for many is exactly what you mentioned.

Heard they're not doing well too. New gen understands that it's retarded to pay for piracy..

Anyone remember this when it got cancelled 3-4 years ago and reemerged with crowdfunding? Wonder what happened that caused it to be canceled

Staff-related matter is usually the reason. Small production teams can't really afford to replace staff so if the founding people decide to leave then they usually just close down.

It's a very tiny number of posts (like single digit from what I've seen). Admin says they are trying to separate real people from bot accounts or people there for scraping and reposting links. There's some weird system where spammy posts like the "count to 1000" threads count against you. Supposedly this is being used to prototype a system for the rest of the site, but I can't see that ever working.
Uploaders can set a required post count, but I've only seen one person doing it, and that was before the new system started.

Why don't they just use the vita emu to play it?

Yeah, cartridge sales that made it on the famitsu top 30 weekly sales ranking. Otherwise they don't release a specific count, so it can get kinda funky schrodingery with stuff that didn't get on the ranks. For example Tierblade carts definitely sold less than 1857 (sales for game ranked 30th that week), but who's to say it didn't sell more than Hiiro no Kakera (1439)?
And for otome games, this generally only covers release sales, since it's like the only time there's enough bulk sales to get on the ranks.
All in all, not exactly the best metric but it's also all we've got (?)

It's because they're women. Not a misogyny post but women in general are taught to be moralfags, so they moralfag. They're probably scared of torrents too

I used to be partially anti piracy myself, until I realized that the money these so called otome companies make is often funneled into funding moid slop projects, with only whatever is left being used to produce a cutter cookie otome title. Otomates CEO saying [Let’s make otome that appeal to men too] really says everything.
And Rejet using AI now was the final straw. I am not giving them a single cent. If I could pirate merch too, I would.
>>
It's interesting to scroll through Twitter and see discussions about Rejet's use of AI. This goes for more than just otome games, but it's a lot of westerners going "grr ai bad" while the Japanese side is more mixed ranging from "grr ai bad" to "i dont have a problem with it but they should publicly say they're using ai" to "people are idiots for complaining about this, there's nothing wrong with ai"
Rejet would never care about western gaijin opinions anyway, so maybe they'll just keep using AI going forward. I wonder what the chinese opinions are like, since rejet has a cn audience too.

>Otomates CEO saying [Let’s make otome that appeal to men too] really says everything.
They just want to appeal to a wider audience and I don't blame them. It’s always been a problem not exclusive to otome that women are willing to consume all kinds of media while men are often unwilling to engage with media made for women.

>Japanese side is more mixed
Only people whose jobs are directly affected by AI are against it. Unfortunately the use of AI are completely normalized by the average person in Japan, they really use ChatGPT for everything.
