I purchased my helmet liner from at the front. It's alright, it just seems a bit oversized. I'm going to try shrink fitting it. For utilities I hear SM wholesale is the best, they made the uniforms for The Pacific. I purchased my poncho on ebay though. You can get originals NOS for ~$150.

Unironically this gun has reignited my passion for BRs and guns in general.
It kicks like a mule, but has nearly no muzzle rise (?) and the entire gun just feels like it was made with an extra level of detail/care, like a semi-custom shop pistol that is non-existent anymore. Not to mention all the swiss army knife details like the captive takedown pins, swiveling trigger guard, etc.
Suisseniggers get my applause, 5 star niggas, this shit literally makes HK looks cheap.

What is the difference between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 Galil? There is a Gen 2 on GB with a starting bid for 2k, and a Gen 1 with a buyout for 2.25k but it looks like the owner put some money into it. Or maybe I just don't know any better because I think Galil's with their regular furniture are fucking hideous.

Not that anybody here cares, but I almost want to go out and shoot my SL7 lil' bro, SL6 today. So I did a search and found the Alcor as an SL6 equivalent. Oh sure, the Mini-14... yuck. Here's the Mr Rodgers version of gun reviews, USOG on the Alcor: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-k0fOLrsis
Just so comfy a reviewer. Unless you want provacative and controversial, unsupported opinions. He qualifies everything he says with "mine, for me" exceptions. I just trust he shoots more than /arg/onauts who scream
>turk shit! rreee!
At everything the have never handled. In USOG, I trust. I'll wait for the price to come down from $1400. The option is, they will hit the market with the better figured walnut first to impress. Financially, I'll wait.

Someone who knows more than me, feel free to call me retarded, but here is what I understand:
It's a SCAR clone that is apparently better than the SCAR because FN is retarded. It's also very reasonably priced when you consider it's a SCAR clone. That said, for the price, you could buy a PTR and a SA58. I guess it depends if you want a gun designed this century or two guns designed last century.

Anyone got experience with Aussie L1A1 (Lithgow FAL) ?
There is very little information about the Australian L1A1 production and their quality and differences from standard L1A1. They come with wood furniture in stock configuration which is nice.
I've got a chance to buy one for like 1000USD in my cuntry but am not decided. Original FN Fal or british L1A1 are double the price which I am not really willing to spend.

Aussie L1A1 have different lightening cuts on upper and lower receivers from the british rifles, other than that it's the same stuff. To my knowledge, parts interchange with british rifles. Have never heard anything wrong about them considering the build quality. They were made in a proper gun factory thoroughly experienced in making rifles.
My only worry would be availability of magazines, fellow czechanon.

I'm not saying there's no shill bidding on GB but this was a penny start and you can see in the bid history where one guy would put a reasonable bid and then others would try to beat the current by a few dollars and instantly get beat by the autobid from the guy with the reasonable bid. Over and over and over. That's a quick road to 60+ bids.

My desire to have almost the same gun twice is smaller than my desire to have a .357 lever gun, suppressor for my Beretta 71, a 9 mm carry pistol, AUG, scoped bolt action .22, maybe a G3... Also could use another gun safe, a tooth implant, shooting glasses and motorbike licence...
Would still snatch a 50.00 or Para metric FAL for a good price, though.

>a SCAR clone that is apparently better than the SCAR because FN is retarded.
It's a repackaged clone of the Stoner 63/M96, the dude who owns the company is literally life-long obsessed with the design.
He sold these for years to a niche of other Stoner/'Nam-era enthusiasts before coming out with the XCR, which is basically just a modernized version of the design.
It's not a bad gun at at all, but it's also not any better than its competitors.
That coupled with the fact that his company is not large enough to reliably service large contracts + being a batshit Mormon who used to go on insane rants about his rifle being ordained by God has basically ensured he will be a niche manufacturer for life.
>>
>>
>>64801175
>I need one of these.
M96 or the XCR? Skip the XCR, it has not historic relevance and is underwhelming.
The M96 guns he used to make were not totally faithful, but then again they were/are your only realistic chance of getting a 63 to larp in tiger stripe.

Is a Century Arms imported G3 a good buy for $780? If it might be what should I look out for? The guts look serviceable but crusty. Barrel looks dirty but rifling ok.
>>
According to /brg/ is the criteria for a battle rifle is simply that it uses a full-sized cartridge, is semi-automatic, and it is or can be a rifle platform (you might have to buy a stock/brace) correct? I'm asking because certain configurations of the guns I largely see considered as battle rifles sort of feel more at home in the precision rifle general. It makes no difference to me, but would a gun chambered in 6.5 Creed still count as a battle rifle? What if it's a PRT that has a ten inch barrel?
>>
>>64810410
Traditionally its just a self loading military rifle. I think you're overthinking it a bit.
On a side note does anyone have that video of that boomer arguing with someone from /brg/ about how his savage axis or maybe it was a ruger american being a true battle rifle? I've been looking for it, but I can't seem to find it on yt anymore.
>>
>>64810052
Is it for real an import or a century build? To my knowledge century never imported actual G3 rifles in the past just parts kits they built. Anyway, the C308 is their mostly CETME built rifle and the current CA3 is portugeuse parts. Either can be luck of the draw but I think the CA3 has had better build quality for the most part and $780 is fine for one.

>12 mags
>sadlak mount with the rings pictured
>brand new vortex viper 1-4
I been trying to sell it for a fucking month cause I want to build a Sig 542 kit.
>>
>>
>>
I bought the CETME kit that was on Center Fire a few weeks back. I haven't done a kit before. Does it really just need the flat or am I going to need to source other parts? I go get my guns at an extremely sketchy (and based) gunstore near me in the middle of the worst industrial park you've ever seen. I asked the owner if the knew anyone that did flats and he told me the guys next door (I am pretty sure they're a chop shop, not even fucking kidding), do them for AKs all the time. He said if I get the flat, that I could just leave the kit and flat with him, and he'd take care of it for me.
Is there anything I need to know, legally speaking, about this? It feels... off to just hand an unfinished firearm to a guy (even if he carries an FFL and owns a gunstore) who will just give it to another guy to turn into a working gun, sight unseen. Do the flats even come serialized? Do I need to get this thing serialized? What's the rules?

Definately a post-pocky clips, suburbanite flex on his Land Rover and Tesla owning neighbors. There is a 4x4 '78 Toyota Chinook around the corner that would be 100% better on both gas and parts in availability and accessibility. Even with the canvas side pop-up. At least the TA55 weighs under 30oz. The TA648 weighs more than a 2.5-20 NX8 in a mount.

Yeah, I was thinking mags, old stock imported to just sit and rot no one wanted, older scopes, might be the only thing I'd find if I looked hard. Anything remotely new is going to have the "I know what I got" premium.

Good call. I have wound up spending time going thru compartment boxes of gun hardware looking for screws, swivels and stuff you just can't find even thru Numrich. It can help to make a cheat sheet of needs. Current need: 2, #6 Fillister head screws, 3/16th long sure, I could just buy 'um. That's not the point.

A long journey finally comes to an end. A STANAG scope (a jap one at that from the same Colt scope company) for my fucking dutch dust cover.

Bit of a weird question, but I can’t really internet search the answer. My uncle died and he left me all his guns and various bits, so I’m now in possession of two LMT MWS uppers, a LM8 and a MLOK, and two BCGs, one from V Seven and one enhanced LMT. I would like to build them out. Who makes lowers that can actually be bought and are “good” for something besides a marksman rifle?
>>
>>
>>64822208
The only lowers I know that fit an LMT are [drumroll]
LMT. They're cut the same way KAC does receivers and to my knowledge no one else mills them that shape, dimensionally they're a bridge between DPMS and Armalite. Double check that V Seven headspaces and closes in either of those uppers first too. 308 ARs are a different, very annoying animal unlike AR-15s; of no standardization, with as much proprietary shit as possible.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>64822245
Maybe, if you can find just a lower for sale. I recall certain A models having a couple oddities that wont work right with an LMT like the receiver pins being a different size, but I think thats just preban. I just know KAC is the only other sure fit, and a company in nevada makes 80% lowers that fit. SMT or SMF machining I think.

Gun show was a desert. Only one guy even carried 7.62, and it was reloaded M80 he was shilling for a dollar a pop. Zero interesting rifles. No parts. Everyone with scopes was I Know What I Got. The one guy who had G3 mags (no FAL) tried to sell me some for $40 each, and I just turned around. That said. Today wasn't a total loss, I picked up my rifles.

Yeah, there was also a completely tatted up cholo selling an M21 for $3k, and I had to try hard not to laugh at that one. The guy who I got my FNAR off of apparently found a second mag, so he tossed that in for me.

Drilled out the other side of a gas plug and sealed that hole in the gas block of my 12" FAL, cause DSA hasn't restocked those damn plugs with the screw in bushings in a millenia. Frankly, I find this worked way better with my can.

i liked mine. probably the only good 'weird' acog. i got mine for a killer price but fucked it up trying to re-glue the front to the scope body (it can unscrew) and got glue flakes all over the inside lens.

'lucky irishman' handguard. honestly the guy who makes them is a bit of a prick and by now someone is probably making a better alternative. i had to actually bend the front of the handguard so the suppressor could fit in.

Thanks, that was the top result in my search, _after posting! Seems to be well thought of for slimness, mloc space, and weight reduction. A potential new job offer next week indicates a new rifle and new e-dirt bike. Check the G300 Pro Review $~2300: https://www.happyrunsports.com/products/happyrun-electric-dirt-bike-g3 00-pro

If my two main priorities are cost savings and long term reliability, what BR strikes the best balance thereof? My instinct was AR10, but it's more difficult to find a chrome-lined upper than I would have expected.

I got his RFB handguard and it was an utter disaster. He forgot to send half the parts and then only sent a few screws. That, the hand fitting required, and then it falling apart as soon as I tried to put it under any serious use really soured me on him. I put the OEM back on and wrote it off as a somewhat pricey lesson learned.

I appreciate the idea, but I live in a state where the nearest range that is over 250 yards is about 3, maybe 4 hours with traffic from me. I don't (and can't) really see myself ever using something above 5 or 6 magnification. It's why I was thinking the ACOG in the first place.

What bolt actions in .308 are decent starting rifles? My brother and I are looking to get out deer hunting next season and I'm not sure where to begin. How important is caliber? Barrel length? etc. I have guns but his would be my first .30 cal rifle.

Thanks. It was a bit finicky when I first built it. I slapped a JP Silent Buffer in there, and it runs like a dream now. those buffers are the best upgrade in any AR style rifle in my opinion.
