Best aesthetic

Not as aesthetic as A3, but more comfy
>hk33/53-type stocks
Works good, slightly wrong aesthetic but passable
>side folder
Gay on anything but K guns
>aftermarket
0 aesthetic, many are pretty crummy for the price usually

The only advantage of the mp5 is how well it works suppressed, particularly in full auto. So you see s lot of operators with the SD.
SBR became sort of necessary as body armour improved, but it's worth pointing out that at sea, not a lot of sailors wear personal body armour.

Anyone got optics recommendations for a MP5? I was thinking a Holosun AEMS. I've got the UTG rail if that matters.
>>
>>64816426
The MP5 was more fun for me overall. The K didn't really shine on the range. Also, you'd potentially be looking at way more cost in extra parts if you plan on using a suppressor and/or FRT. The only real benefit is practicality in vehicles and such.

>The K didn't really shine on the range.
why?
>Also, you'd potentially be looking at way more cost in extra parts if you plan on using a suppressor and/or FRT.
why?
I've always wanted an MP5 and the K option seems more attractive since small guns are neat and 9mm is a pistol cartridge and doesn't need much barrel length.
>>
>>64817422
NTA but since I own an SP5k and AP5, Louder when suppressed, not as soft shooting (it's still pretty soft though), more awkward to hold onto, easier to get roller dents if you don't know what you're doing
>>
>>64817360
roller dent is already solved, they sell different angled locking pieces. a 90 or 80 degree locking piece will prevent roller dent in a suppressed MP5. there was a NASA ERT MP5 that famously survived 571,000 rounds before the barrel wore out, but I think that that was unsuppressed.

oh I see, I was admittedly talking out of my ass and just thought you didn't know about the locking piece
>>64817466
really doesn't seem like much of an issue if you're not doing high intensity CQB with it or something. it'll never matter in a civilian context
>>
>>64817474
I have the 90 degree lp for my sp5k, specifically the one from RCM (I had purchased one from HK before going with RCM and the bolt gap was absolutely fucked), it doesn't matter. People still reported roller dent issues
>>
>>
>>
>>64817496
true, that would suck in war time unless you're lettin er rip in full auto. wouldn't really be much of a problem for a home defense gun though, you are in some serious monkey business if you're shooting 30 at someone as a civilian
>>
>>64817498
You have to buy different sized rollers. It's really gay, pretty sure the HKforums has a chart for what sized rollers you need for the bolt gap you're getting. Oh and the bolt gap will change after a while too. So you have to measure it occasionally
>>
>>
>>64817509
I didn't know about it changing over time. I guess it's not too bad since from what I can gather by looking it up it's about every 5,000 rounds. it takes a while to shoot 5,000 rounds
>>64817513
damn, I didn't know they had a bolt catch on the mp5/10, that really is fucking retarded that they didn't incorporate it on the newer mp5s then

This is probably my favorite MP5 setup without a suppressor. I ended up setting up my clone in the same fashion for awhile.
>>
>>
>>64817528
Some people will argue it's not accurate to the 9mm mp5 if they added it but the sp5 series is already fucked in terms of accuracy thanks to the lack of a second pin and the added internal block to prevent making it full auto
>>
>>
>>
>>64817561
oh true, I think that means that all MP5s would be kind of fucked then. I guess you could release new magazines that are compatible with it and backwards compatible with old MP5s, but then all existing mags in circulation would not work with the new guns and it'd be all fucked. kind of a shame.
>>
>>64817600
Maybe they can do it with polymer mags, idk. And honestly I've just been using the overwatch mod 2 polymer mags on my sp5k anyway since they're like 20 dollars each and won't rust unlike the HK ones I have. A tighter fit but you can sand it down
>>
>>
>>64817611
damn, I didn't know that the HK mags had rust issues, that's total ass. the steel mags for my m9a4 don't rust where the coating has rubbed off of them. I thought that HK was supposed to use TEVTONIC CANNON STEEL folded 1,000 times

I think this stands out as a testament to the MKE MP5s. They've been making the MP5 for decades, and most of issues they had were with the parts for making a full-auto gun semi-auto only or other US compliance mods.
I'm sure they made changes with the newer guns. I noticed that an AP5N on a rack at the local gun store had a cad-plated extractor spring as opposed to the black oxide springs in the early guns.

Hk had a special flashlight for the mp5 that bolted (properly) to the top and had a very crisp shadow dot in the center of the light beam where the point of impact would be.
I think the anon should go for this option, naturally.
>>
Are they worth buying in current year? As a gun that can be reliable used for self defense and what not. I already have a bunch of ARs and want something different, but still viable. Don't really care for a retro aesthetic so I'll probably get a PTR one with a modern handguard and top rail
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>64818727
Of course. Really fun to shoot and 9mm is cheap. They are dead reliable.
>>64818798
The only reason to own a handgun is to conceal carry, like a coward would. They are worse in every single way. Fuck handguns.

>just don't get me started on the optic mount mounting point
NTA, I've come to the conclusion I may just get a welded raik version. I hope I don't regret it, just don't want to deal with mounts. Not a lot of choice, and often not cheap. Meanwhile, other than breaking welds, that rail should be stiff and not shift POI much, at least not easily. I hope.

It makes no difference what men think of MP5, said the judge. MP5 endures. As well ask men what they think of 1911. MP5 was always here. Before man was, wMP5 waited for him. The ultimate gun awaiting its ultimate operator. That is the way it was and will be. That way and not some other way.
>>
>>
>>64831538
Should be fine with the stock 100 degree for 115 and 124 grain bullets in the FRT.
If you shoot 147 grain suppressed with a FRT, then I'd look at a 90 degree. Good luck finding one though, it's out of stock everywhere.

120° for 124gr and 115° for 115gr OR if shooting in freezing temps.

I'll double check when I'm not busy, but HTA did the conversion, and I THINK they use a 115. Will I get dents if I use a 120deg with 115gr ammo (or vice versa)? Yes, I know I'm being autistic about this, but I don't want to royally fuck up my autism gun.

Watched a movie called 6 Days. It's about the raid on the Iranian Embassy in London by the SAS.
I noticed many of the SAS dudes had either blue tape or red tape on their magazines.
Is this something that the movie producers did as a nod to Diehard 2, or was it actually for something legit?
