Heard good things about both but the best suggestion I can give is to rent both at a range and give it a try. If that's not an option, at least find a store that has both so you can handle them and see which fits your hand better.

I have carried a shield plus for 3 years and I am switching to a BG 2.0 soon. I carried the 1.0 Shield for years and when I bought the plus I have never been able to shoot as good as I did with the 1.0
I am also 5'5'' 150 lbs and smedium hands, FWIW.

Bodyguard 2.0 carry comp version. 12+1 capacity on the extended mag, and 10+1 with the flush fit. Best pocket pistol i have ever shot period, for how light it is, that comp does a great job at reducing the snap of .380.

I rather enjoy my Shield Plus PC, I'm not sure if the porting is doing anything but it certainly shoots nicely

I've had the shield plus for years and carried it regularly. I can't hit shit with it.
I recently upgraded my deep conceal from the original bodyguard to the 2.0.
The 2.0 is mt favourite of the 3 by far. Excellent ergonomics and shootability, unrivaled capacity/size ratio.

It's a completely unrelated platform. The original Bodyguard is an "improved" clone of a Kel-Tec P3-AT. The 2.0 is a scaled-down M&P and it is absolutely fantastic. It is far better to shoot than the original Bodyguard.

I too couldnt hit shit with the shield plus. I thought it was just me but i shot a shield ez and it shot low and to the left but otherwise was a laser, and now have a lcp max thats a dead on laser. Idk what it was with the shield plus

3.6" M&P 2.0

If 380 performance is good enough to provide you peace of mind get the BG2.0, it is very small for how well it shoots. Small enough to pocket carry if you want to.
If it just doesn't cut it in your mind then obviously you get the Shield or some other micro 9.

There are deranged people who scream on the Internet they are going to snap and commit a mass shooting. The FBI will not act until it is too late, then we hear "he was on our radar" as has happened countless times. It is shameful we are not protected.

that clip looks really high. do you have any trouble getting hold of the grip to draw it?

Shield Plus so that you wont need to invest in another caliber.
I pretty much standardized my carry rotation to be mostly 9mm with my J Frame Revolver being the only non 9mm. And maybe the .380 PPK but thats still to be decided

Shield X

I have two shields, safety and non safety and two Bodyguards. I have to go from free state to non free state often.
The bodyguard is the best .380 I've ever shot. LCP was my favorite for years.
The shield, with the free state 4lb trigger is one of the best compacts and I carry it frequently. I'm even a glock fan boy.

bodyguard 2.0 is about the same size as the Kahr CT380 in picrel. shield x seems pointless to me.
>>
>>64820207
I'd appreciate the shield X a lot more if these stupid nigger monkeys kept the grip the same length as the shield plus instead of forcing you to use the 13 round magazine. The flush fit 10 round magazine is just the right length to carry very comfortably while still being able to get all my fingers on the grip.

>micro
Shield X isn't a 'micro', it's a Shield : subcompact
supposed to ? compete with the P365-whatever (the one that is larger than the original P365)
All the manufacturers have adopted the size-it-up, size-it-down for their designs
Most successful yet has been Smith & Wesson with their microshrunk M&P, the Bodyguard 2.0

Kek I pretty much keep a roster of "cuck state" guns to consider if I ever get a Class C RV and I go on the interstate and want to keep a gun or two on me

The p365 XL, which is working a micro back up into a compact which you may as well just get a compact and have more shootability. The thinness makes less of a difference when youre putting a 4 inch barrel and 15+ round mag in it

It's not a micro, dumbdick. It's basically a slightly slimmer compact.
>>
>>
Personal opinion is just carry a full size, maybe a compact if you have small hands. I fell for the deep carry micro guns when I first started CCing. It wasn't comfortable to deep carry, the small guns weren't comfortable to shoot. I moved to carrying a CZ 75b and realized that no one notices printing. I've settled on carrying a comped g19 at 4 o'clock and 2 magpul 27 rounders at 8 o'clock. I shoot well with it and it's comfortable. I still have a p64 with a pocket holster for when I'm absolutely going to be in shorts and a tank top or something, bht I ended up selling my shield.

>>64818915
I have a Plus and really like it, but I've been tempted by a Bodyguard just because of how ridiculously tiny it is, it'd open up carry in certain outfits or situations where even the Shield is awkward.
>>64820207
Also very interested in one of these, as a handlet I love the skinny grip of the Shield series and I'd be very tempted to replace my G19 with a Shield X. The only thing stopping me is how fucking expensive mags are and that I already have a ton of Glock mags.
>>
>>64824113
Honestly landed on the same opinion, got it out of the way when single stack 9mm subcompacts were in vogue back in the early 2010s. If I'm bothering with a belt gun it's a G19 with a comp and dot or a G21 with a dot. Any situation where I can't carry one of those means that its pocket gun time. Subcompact duty caliber handguns are just a mistake, you're really getting comfort of carry more than anything out of them and massively cutting into your personal performance.

>working a micro back up into a compact
Right, at some level all of this 'ratchet up/down' incremental sizetweaking of compact pistols gets ridiculous.
Get the pistol that feels and shoots most comfortably
>thinness makes less of a difference
also this

>The thinness makes less of a difference when youre putting a 4 inch barrel and 15+ round mag in it
If you're talking about concealability, sure. In terms of ergonomics, though, it can be huge if your hands are on the smaller side, I wear a size M glove and this new crop of subcompacts are the first double stack handguns I've ever felt actually fit me properly. There's also some argument to be made for sharing mags and ergonomics between your deep conceal micro gun and your "standard compact" OWB/range gun.
>>
>>64824113
Opposite experience. I started out carrying a G19 but I had to dress in baggy t-shirts or un tucked button down shirts to conceal it and I wound up leaving it at home a lot because it was inconvenient. Eventually I got a PF9, then a G26, then a CSX-E. I could pocket the PF9 and IWB the G26 or CSX-E. With the smaller guns I carry all the time and don't have to dress like a neckbeard wearing an XL shirt instead of a L which flatters my physique more. Guns like the shield being necessary for small hands is a retarded take, my wife is 5'3" and can shoot my G19 no problems, her carry is a S&W Equalizer which is the ideal gun for a woman.

Pic related has better quality control than the Bodyguard, apparently. Just get the Ruger.

>Guns like the shield being necessary for small hands is a retarded take, my wife is 5'3" and can shoot my G19 no problems,
I said, maybe compact for small hands, a g19 is compact. I'm a size 44L suit, 16 34/35 shirt, no one has to dress like a neckbeard to CC a full size pistol iwb. If you and your wife feel like you have to CC sub compacts, that's up to you. Most people will shoot better with a full size and be able to adequately conceal it.

haven't shot the shield but I've shot other micro9s and they are not pleasant
My BG2.0 feels like shooting a full size 9mm, its ridiculously easy to shoot for its size
only problem I had with it is that if my finger was too high on the trigger the trigger safety would get caught before it depress fully, I trimmed the little notch just barely and its flawless now

>quality control
is this about some of the sights being off from factory? I haven't heard of any problems with function
the sights are press fit dove tails, just adjust them

If 380 will work for you then the bodyguard 2.0 is the best pocket carry on the market at this time. lcp max is quite a bit cheaper, almost half the cost but the ergos, sights, and low bore axis make the bg worth it imo.

>.380 is obsolete either way
Wtf do you mean obsolete? It's only slightly less powerful than 9mm? And by that I mean it has only an inch or so less penetration power than 9mm but still passes the 12inch FBI penetration standard

Vista Outdoor gave up on 30SC in 2024 before they even did their big split into The Kinetic Group before selling out to the Czechs. CSG has no plans for 30CS at all, they're done with it. They're giving Federal whole new lines of ammo, but nothing for 30SC. Instead, they've stopped making 30SC Federal Premium HST, Federal Punch, Remington HTP, and Speer Gold Dot. Hornady, the only 3rd party manufacturer of 30SC ammunition ever, has long since stopped producing their Critical Defense. Sorry you fell for the meme but it's over, there's more 25ACP being produced in 2026 than 30SC.

remains a viable self defense chambering, augmented by the newly arrived excellent Bodyguard 2.0 that is likely the smallest handgun ever designed which can be considered as a 'gunfight' pistol : has the ammunition capacity, firepower and shootability, wield-ability far surpassing any other pistol so compact lightweight or concealable
