Zero excuses, poorfags. It is a Chinese knockoff of an 870. Can take most 870 parts as well. Only thing it can't take are 870 barrels since they changed it for reasons.

I got the Apex kit, Floyd flared base and mag extension, some plastic buffer thing, extended mag release, and some kind of replacement thing in the striker channel that prevents water from getting caught in the striker channel. I love this thing.

I keep the main mag loaded with Winchester Ranger PDX. Other mag in the nightstand has the Hornady.

It's chambered in ordinary .38. It's cool because you can fire both barrels at once, handy if you wanna mcnutt yourself because you live in a tent.
Only use it ever saw apart from a possible suicide apparatus was firing at a tweaker trying to surprise me when i was fishing, but he ran away so i don't know if i even hit him or not.

It's a Glenmorangie branded glass. I really like Nectar d'Or.
I generally dont do flovered whiskey or bourbon, but that was some tasty stuff. Not artificially sweet, not really sweet at all. The apple was extremely mild and on the back end.
If you really want to poorfag, Evan Williams BiB is quite good at its price point. Early Times BiB is absolutely smooth AF and solid at $26 p/L if you can find it.

I'm poor as shit, have a few utility knives for work (wildland firefighter) I've bought from forums for basically pennies. Being poor doesn't mean to have shit gear, I make $18/hr with a masters degree as a supervisor, it just means you have to be more thrifty and save for nice purchases.

I make $51.96 per hour with a bullshit 2 year degree that my employer paid me to get, but they hired me with a high school degree. My actual workload is less than 8 hours per week usually, with the rest of my time being spent reading books on my phone and bullshitting with other people in the building. My brother makes $400k a year with a MBA and apparently spends most of his time day drinking and playing golf. He doesn't read a lot of books, but he drinks expensive whiskey much more frequently than I do and what's more, he does it on the clock.
Before you laugh at a guy for what he does for a living, remember that someone else is laughing at you for what you do for a living, and also remember that what you're doing for a living is fine, if that's what you want to do. It's all relative.

Yeah welcome to forestry. The regional lead makes $21/hr. All the seasonal firefighters on my team make $16/hr.
Remember that the next time you see a major fire in the West (except California they make bank) that the majority of the full time personnel are making between $17 and $23 per hour depending on COLA for their respective region.

My humble arsenal. Old pic but the only thing changed is the grip on the AR, it's now got a more vertical B5 that matches the stock.
I'm embarrassed at how long it's been since I went shooting and I really need to get that AR back out because I had some issues with it the only time it's been to the range, not going fully into battery occasionally, I think maybe just because I hadn't cleaned the factory oils out thoroughly but I really need to make sure. (It does feel much smoother and chambers cartridges much more easily after a deep clean.)

fucking hell, I thought ~$30/hr starting with an AAS was bad. I'm in an area where houses average $700k, rent on a midlevel apartment is $1,500 and a burger is $20 so pay has to be a little higher than other places, but that still probably scales a lot better than $21 does anywhere in America.

Oh yeah way ahead of you on that, I'm pretty decent at certain cooking too. (Better than 90% of people our age anyway.) I just mentioned the $20 burgers to show the CoL in the area.

its not a good idea to buy marlin now since ruger bought an killed the competition. marlin 22s have plastic parts that degrade and disintgrate with time. which wasnt a big deal when the parts were still being made. even if you found an unused like new 2000s era marlin 60 its going to have issues and need replacement parts. parts that are now retardedly expensive. you used to be able to get every factory spring and buffer for under 20 now you are looking at 20 per spring made by some random. the current mag prices on the magfeds are fuckin insane.

Is a Masters still worth it? I keep being told to go into law school because of my Poli. Sci degree (I got social studies and history autism instead of math and science) and my memory but it doesn’t seem worth the squeeze. I’d prefer going into a Masters in Public Administration but I have zero full time job experience and really need to establish myself in the workforce and get some actual income going since I’m in my mid-20s.

For me, it's the vestigial tube. Most box mag shotguns still have the tube mag hanging around for the purpose of parts compatibility, while it no longer functions as a mag, which just looks wrong.
There are a few box mag pumps without tubes, they look a lot better.
If there were a dual feed shotgun that could use the tube after the box mag runs out, that would be neat, but still ugly, and too complicated.
>>
>>64825877
>there's no reason why they can't be a thing
The reason is that it's annoying to have to load a mag right before use at a range and impractical to leave them unloaded for home defense, because banana mags eventually compress the plastic shells and fuck with feeding if left loaded for any period. I could just be uninformed, but I've yet to see a box mag for a shotgun that doesn't have this issue.
>>

>because banana mags eventually compress the plastic shells and fuck with feeding if left loaded for any period. I could just be uninformed, but I've yet to see a box mag for a shotgun that doesn't have this issue.
This is urban legend. While it's a reported issue with birdshot, it is not a problem at all with buckshot or slug-loaded magazines. I've left some of mine loaded for more than a year with no issues.

I worked in the field because covid killed my college job (bartender at a brewery) so I worked in the plant for about a year. By that point, I had a degree and plant experience,so I landed a white collar job for one of the larger plant service companies. Got laid off, got an even better job the same day.
I like that the field pays very well, and its results oriented in my experience. If things are going well, they never expect me to spend every moment in the office, I only go in for about 4 hours a day, and a lot of us go drinking on the company dime. Our new office is going to have a bar, gym, and hospitality suite, a lot of stuff that would get you strung up by HR in other fields are fine in oil and gas.

purposefully ran it without cleaning it or oiling it after cleaning it at 1k rounds and it made it about 500 rounds before it was failing to fully seat a round and it was just because so much gunk built up on the feed ramp and slide rails it wasn't smooth and i was also using the cheapest ammo i could find
they arent as reliable as a high end 1911 but as long as you arent going 500 rounds with the cheapest ammo you can find without even wiping it off, itll be good

Gtfo faggot. Not everyone needs expensive tools. Most people just need exactly what OP has. A basic affordable tool kit with an arrangement of basic tools for small repairs around the house. Not everyone needs to drop thousand of dollars in Milwaukee tool sets.

Yeah, I really need to go shoot it again, just had shockingly little free time in the last few months. It seems like less of a cycling issue than an actual chamber one, The rounds would get stuck like 1/8" short of fully seated and I'd have to mortar it to get them out. I think maybe it was maybe a combo of shitty ammo and some dried factory gunk in the chamber, it happened with multiple brands so it wasn't JUST the ammo but it was always noticeably sluggish to chamber before cleaning and now it feels smooth.
Annoyingly I don't have a receipt either, usually I get them emailed by Sportsmans so I wasn't careful with the printed one but the gun counter guy forgot to put my rewards number in. Hopefully S&W will still help me out if the gun does still have trouble, otherwise I think I'm just gonna have to buy another upper.

Its a lot more chill. My wife works in a specialty medical field and they are constantly in fear of legal repercussions, meanwhile I barely do anything and make 30k more.
One of the reasons I went MBA is because I asked a bunch of successful people I knew through the cigar club and my rugby club if I should do it, and they all had high opinions of the MBA and either had one themselves or had something adjacent like a masters in management. It has a lot of recognition and everyone knows what it is, and doesn't pigeon hole you to any one particular field.

i wouldnt mount the sling on that light, its probably going to rip itself off the rail
i would just cut off its existing loop, tie it off after running it through the existing sling on the FSB and then just tuck it underneath the light and zip tie it down and then electical tape it up so the knot is more secure
i have that same exact light i think and the rail mount isnt secure enough to handle 12 gauge recoil, if you secure it better you can use the sling to secure around your arm and put pressure on it when shooting to make it more secure
>>
>>
>>64827394
should be good then
only other thing i would do is lightly dremel/file down the other end of that light mount because that tiny lip it has isnt big enough to secure a zip tie on and zip tie the other end down so its more secure
ive seen a lot worse setups than that, yours is very funtional, its just the amazon basics light needing a bit more modding being the only real problem

>>64827236
I will, but I'm 99% sure it was an issue with the chamber itself, I don't see how the gas system could cause an unfired round to get jammed solid 80% into the chamber. Either there was something in there or S&W fucked up the tolerances.

>Not everyone needs to drop thousand of dollars in Milwaukee tool sets.
No one is saying to go out and buy milfuckee tools you retard. If you are a man that grew out of playing video games in his teenage years then you should know you acquire tools over time as the need to repair and take on projects over the years expands. The basic bitch tool set screams "I just bought a house and I don't know what I'm doing".
>>
>>
>>64827908
>milfuckee tools
As someone who has use them professionally (and is too poor (spends too much on cars and guns) to own them personally) Milwaukee is far and away the best cordless power tool manufacturers on the US market today.
Also, I'm seconding this

IDK how old you are or how old that guy with the basic tool kit is, but I'm an old fag with a half of a lifetime of collecting shit behind me. I remember when I bought my first jack and jack stands it wiped me out financially and the Craftsman 200 piece socket and wrench set was the best Christmas gift I ever got. We are all doing the best we can and that guy is doing better than a lot of folks. I mean, fuck, simply owning a weapon and some hand tools puts him way ahead of most "people" on /a/.
This is weapons related because I use the word weapon.

Check if the barrel extension is clocked and that the feed ramps actually line up. If the bolt is hitting the lugs before closing that's bad. It shouldn't do that. If it got smoother cause it wore the parts and now it's not hitting that's still not good.

I don't think that's what's happening either, like I said in a previous post the cartridges were actually jamming in the chamber, enough that I had to mortar them out. Getting smoother happened immediately after a really thorough clean and lube, which I should've done before the first range day. I really think it may just have been that there was some kind of dried out factory gunk in there (shipping oil or whatever) that was having a tolerance stacking issue with the cheap ammo I was using.

It's a WESCO MK IV. It's literally the worst gun I've ever shot. It's a .45ACP Sten with a Thompson buttstock, and the mags are M3 mags that have been cut out with a dremel tool. There's a big hunk of rubber inside the receiver that acts as a buffer. It needs about 50 pounds of force to pull back the charging handle, and every time it jams (once every 3 rounds) you have to hold this heavy ass bolt back with one hand and dig the round out with your fingers. One time it stovepiped and cut the brass in half. I love it.

Just normal inflation and general housing adjustments. For example some of the guys in Jackson (you know, WEF playground town, WY) make $25/hr but they're all crammed in stupidly expensive rentals. Anybody not from places like Jackson, Missoula, Bozeman, Spokane, Kalispell, etc is at best making $21/hr. One of our trucks is from the 70s and we've had multiple budget plans rejected to purchase anything that doesn't spend 70% of the time being repaired.
Some seasonals get housing but it's just living in a ranger station or wherever will take them. Permanent staff are on their own generally and don't get to sit around their respective fire district station 24/7 unlike your average city/town firefighter
>>
>>
>>
>>64833029
To make matters worse there's a good chance if things don't turn around with our record low snowpack in the Rockies and Cascades that we are in for the worst fire season in decades. Additionally, a lot of people trained to assist in responding to fires but who aren't direct fire personnel (red card holders) were fired en masse by DOGE and never rehired. All those forest jammies who literally cleaned up campgrounds, did trail maintenance, or worked as full time or temporary scientists and technicians were largely part of our normal fire response planning.
Now they're gone, new budget means none were rehired. After the government shutdown many more didn't bother coming back due to the instability. Very exciting!

as far as this thread is concerned it's a mindset not an economic condition. if you actually shoot your guns the difference between a cheap shit one and a decent one will always end up eclipsed by the cost of the ammo you put through it. if you're actually broke and still want to shoot you're pretty much limited to .22.

on buds a taurus g3 is $233 and a glonk 19 is $540. that's a difference of $307. ammoseek is showing 9mm at $6 a box. so by buying a cheap shit gun instead of an expensive shit one (har har) you save 50 boxes of ammo. that might sound like a lot, but how many years are you going to own the gun? for an even more extreme example a shadow 2 is 157 boxes of ammo more expensive, but if you shoot a box a week that's only 3 years, and that kind of gun you might own your entire life and will to your child. or to put it another way the difference between a taurus and a shadow 2 is less than 2 weeks pay at a mcjob.
>>

This is my carry gun, and I fucking love it. Mine was $200, but it came with a lock box, a magazine loader, and a few boxes of ammo. It gets the job done, it's reliable, it's sufficiently ergonomic for me, but still small enough to be comfortably concealable, and I can shoot it well.

not entirely sure but i think you just talked yourself out of your initial point of "taurus and train" in the same damn post. just buy a gun you know you can rely on; if that means saving a little, fine. when you're broke it's far more important to "buy once, cry once" instead of buying some saturday night special because the pawnshop had it marked down and hoping it works. also, personally, the approx. 4 cpr difference between 9mm and 22lr is negligible when considering both the entertainment of shooting 9mm and its performance characteristics, especially if you only had to choose one.
>ammoseek
looking at the unfiltered ammoseek list of sketchy vendors with remanned ammo and questionable shipping prices is not representative of what one should expect when looking for decently cheap factory produced plinking food. it's more like looking at temu.

If you’re buying a cheap or crappy tool kit, odds are the jobs you actually need them for are very light work and not super wearing on the tools. Apartment poors like myself can just call maintenance to fix the big stuff. But if I need to hand some pictures, change my oil/filters, put together some cheapshit furniture, or make very minor house repairs, it’s nice to have some tools to do it. Obviously the tools are crap and would falter on an actual job site pounding rocks, but that’s not the intended user.

Different anon but I cook it all then bag it and freeze it. Easier this way if you've got a big pot to cook it all in since you only need to cook it once, but you do have to break it up after it freezes since it will obviously all freeze into one solid slab of ground beef. Freezing doesn't really affect the quality as far as I can tell.
