How hard is it to remove and switch out the buffer tube on an AR? I have some weird "pinned" fixed stock because cuckstate that looks like an M4 stock but I'm pretty sure it's a specific set up where none of the LoP adjusting components even exist. I think I need to remove the castle nut (which isn't staked) to remove it. I'd rather have like the moe fixed carbine stock, (though I'm not sure if the LoP is long enough) so I'm not putting my face on the buffer tube or the part of the stock that juts out because my A2 is more comfortable to shoot.
Actually one of the big things a red dot has over an acog is if I set up my acog so I can use it prone and then shoot off hand with thick clothing like alice webgear with the alice straps I can't get my head into the right spot with the acog, but it doesn't matter with a red dot. It's weird, it's like too far forward with thick clothes standing, just right from prone and when I shot high power with it before getting my A2 I'd fuck up my eyepro because I'd scope myself shooting from the sitting. I think my head is further back kneeling because I shoot my .22 kneeling and it's a traditional stock so you can't like nose to charging handle on it and my head is basically straight up when I shoot it standing.
I fucking hate how awb antis made
>ergonomic stock so you can have the correct LoP
an
>evil awb feature

This is literally all you had to do at the beginning.
Get yourself a castle nut wrench and work the shit at the base of the rifle that looks like, you guessed it, a castle, like you said in your OP. It is literally that simple.

Was that so hard?
does your buffer tube have more than one blind hole on the bottom of it? It's likely you don't need to remove the buffer tube itself. Just disassemble the stock, with a dremel if it's easier, and slide a new adjustable one on

there aren't any holes in the buffer tube, no gunz and I don't want a new adjustable stock, I want a fixed one so I don't bump my face on the metal or stock lip. The latch at the bottom is fake. I can unscrew it and take it off, it's 100% cosmetic

You still haven't prove you have gunz, no gunz war tourists

They make fixed stocks that fit on a carbine tube. PRS lite is one I can think of off the top of my head. Luth-AR has one too I think. Might not be much more than doing a whole tube, buffer and spring swap with the new stock.
We're not the ones asking easily googleable questions making ops with stock images

you literally started the thread by calling me a no gunz indian, you tranny. Why wouldn't I be mad?

Your crying for something that, like >>64826536 said, could have been easily fixed by a google search.
You started off looking dumb with an extremely basic AR maintenance question, but that's easily forgiven unless you act like a projecting brownoid calling everyone trannies when they call you out. Put your fucking big boy pants on, buy your little castle nut wrench, and stop trying to act tough on the internet.

I'm convinced you don't know what tranny even means other than it being your favorite new buzzword. I'm almost half convinced you're spamming it as a leftist false flag to get people annoyed by it so they stop using it, but that's giving you way too much credit.
We're done here. Buy your wrench. Careful not to choke on it.

reddit having much better advice and technical knowledge than /k/ is not a controversial claim in 2026, in fact its just a matter of public record. Sorry old man, the world left this place behind years ago, its no longer part of the gun zeitgeist. all the young people into guns are on discords and telegrams while all you can do is mald about not knowing the answer to what you claim are basic questions. sad really.

Are you retarded OP? That stock is adjustable. You press up on the little lever on the side and you can slide it up and down the buffer tupe.

i can't tell if the castle nut has been staked but probably not, worst case you've got to break loose some threadlocker.
>push retaining plunger down and remove buffer and buffer spring
>loosen castle nut
>carefully slide plate back and remove the spring that holds the takeown pin detent
don't lose that spring
>unthread buffertube by holding down the plunger and not letting it fly off into the aether
don't lose that either
>get new tube and stock and reverse the process.
it isn't that hard just be aware of the springs that you could lose. watch midway usa's videos on AR assembly and you'll get it.
