Stupid Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
Anyone have any luck with printing 3d junk to turn into gun buybacks for some quick cash or gift cards?

never seen a buyback advertised around here
if you do do it, stick to 1 or 2, if you show up with a box of dozens of your rejected prints they will recognize that you are just trying to scam them and you wont get shit

Speaking of OP's topic. What, if any, legal hurdles would you go through if you just print and sell guns that are registered as legal firearms and go through all proper procedures. I know where I'm at it's illegal to make a 3d printed gun without getting it registered afterwards, but if it's registered can I just sell it legally through an FFL or something?

Did captive piston/internal piston bullets ever go anywhere for spooky use? These have always fascinated me, and seem like they have a niche for a totally compact, but quiet gun that reliably doesn't leave brass

How does loading a Benelli M4 works when it comes to running dry, loading the tube and hitting the bolt release? I've been going insane over it, it's been an hour since I've frantically been trying to find info about this but to no avail. I just want to know if it either, drops the bolt but doesn't chamber a round, or when you hit the bolt release, it sends a shell to the carrier and it chambers it.
All the videos and info are just, put a shell in the carrier, drop the bolt and load the tube or drop the bolt, load the tube, hit the cartridge drop lever and rack it.

I got a question to the seafaring folks: there are hundreds of shadow fleet oil tankers on the oceans right now, they got fake papers, no insurance, joke country flags, expendable crews from India and sanctioned oil worth $50M+ on board. why is nobody going full privateer, team up with a somewhat shady country with a coastline like Ghana or Belgium and caputre tankers? board the vessel in international waters, ditch the crew, auction off vessel and cargo? its not like Vanuatu or San Marino will ever come after you and since the cargo is sanctioned anyway there is little legal regress possible.

Has anyone here ever broken a suppressor? I inherited one from my dad and I'm a little afraid to use it for fear of causing any damage. I know companies can do warranty work on it, but if they have to replace the baffles completely will I need to do a new set of paperwork for it?
>>
How do you minimize hearing damage as much as possible? I already double up with ear plugs and over the ear protection, but I feel like it isn't enough. I only shoot my AR suppressed and I'm going to buy some threaded barrels for my pistols soon

How good is parts interchangeability on Uzis? Specifically barrels. If I wanted to SBR an Uzi with a 16 inch barrel, what considerations do I need to make? Will Israeli (or any country, really) barrels work with a Chinese one after cutting the barrel nut weld? Will I need to do much hand-fitting? I know head spacing could be a concern.

>Find 2 or ideally 3+ (cast a wider net) acceptable models for your purpose and fitting your budget
>Find distributors, online retailers
>For each retailer that has at least 1 acceptable model, email them to ask about bulk pricing for those models.
>The more you email, the better your odds someone will cut you a deal
You probably won't get huge savings, but even if it's only $5 or $6 per unit, over 11 carriers that that could be $66.00 in savings. Not sure what the situation is, but offering to just buy a full dozen might increase your odds of someone being willing to give you better pricing. You might even consider asking the mfg directly if they could sell you 12 at a good price. I doubt it, but it's worth a shot. Worst anyone can say is "no."

I'm a new gun owner and I was told i need to lube my AR15 after getting it
but there are so many CLPs out there and ive been falling down the rabbit hole about which one is best for long term use
any of you guys have some recommendations?
also how much CLP should i buy if i plan to go to the range twice a month give or take?
>>
>>64833153
Doesnt matter you will constantly add more. 1 or 2 sprays when you shoot will last years. If your using it for cleaning maybe 2 years.
Ive have 1 can thats the range use can thats been over a decade and not empty.

1) A letter of Marque requires an active, declared state of war and a specific scope of operations to be valid
2) A privateer must bring his prizes before an Admiralty court in a friendly power to be adjucated before selling them. Combined with the below, this is unlikely to happen
3) Following the first Crimean War every seafaring nation -- aside from the United States and China -- with any interest in policing sealanes made a treaty (the Paris Declaration) to cease issuing or recognizing letters of marque. Which means that by default an act of privateering becomes piracy in the eyes of every signatory, and there are multiple countries *extremely* invested in violently fucking-up anyone who breaks that entente. Russia's less of a concern than Turkey, the Scandies, all the coastal states of Central and South America that have a Navy, Spain, Italy, the French, and the English. So taking a prize in the Med, the Baltic, North Sea, and almost every Pacific port outside the US and maybe Macau or Hong Kong would be off-limits.
The United States may not technically be a signatory, but as with most "laws of war" treaties we've followed the terms of the Paris Declaration since the 1870s. The last four attempts to get Letters of Marque up and running in the US (most of them spearheaded by Ron Paul, because of course they were) have all failed. Including the most recent one in 2022.

Hey guys quick question , What would be a realistic selling price for a scar 16s NRCH in black that has been rattle canned, comes with a Moe girp and pistol grip, a G& trigger pack and Eotech 512. The gun itself had less than 2k rounds through it. Here a pic of said scar

The old advice for making sure a prostitute isn't a cop is by asking them to show you their tits, since cops aren't allowed to do that. Would the same apply to feds trying to infiltrate training groups if you require new members to show their dicks?

>probably half MSRP
I would expect less. Worked a gun shop. Despite how boomers pitch their rattle canned guns on GunBroker, a rattle can paint job contributes zero value and 9 out 10 times depreciates the gun, especially on guns that are collectible or becoming collectible. I would also just keep the EOTech. You won't get a whole lot for it. For most, there's a greater value in just putting the accessories on another gun.
>>
>>64828588
Absolutely. The Soviets issued the one in your pic or something very similar, and US tunnel rats used them in 'Nam, out of pretty normal snub revolvers.
>>64830650
It's initially trapped inside the cartridge and then slowly leaks out of the tiny gap between the piston and casing. I'm not sure about the American version but the Soviet ones apparently take days to fully vent.

Find some guy selling "sporting equipment" on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. Also, if some boomer's having a yard sale, ask if he has any guns he's thinking of selling, you'll get a single-shot 12 gauge for like 70 bucks and sometimes they even have real guns

That's probably "Ed's Red", a common DIY formula. There's various recipes for it, but a common one is equal parts Kerosene, Mineral Spirits, Acetone, and Automatic transmission fluid.
It's honestly pretty good. Auto transmission fluid is what gives it the red color. It's high quality oil and has a lot of corrosion inhibitors. The acetone is a very effective cleaner and will evaporate quickly. The mineral spirits and/or kerosene is just a light oil to bulk it out.
It's good stuff and is economical if you need a *lot* of CLP. One thing to be careful of is that acetone will harm some plastics, paints, and lacquer finishes so while that stuff is a very effective cleaner you do have to be careful not to spill it where you don't want it. You can improve the formula by swapping 3M #08984 "general purpose adhesive cleaner' for the acetone. That stuff is very effective and safe for most paints and plastics but it's also considerably more expensive than acetone.

It makes me conclude that you're a retard with a broken bullshit filter who parrots bullshit he hears without thinking it through. There's no such thing as a "standard size" for a diplomatic pouch, in fact most of them could easily contain automatic rifles. Most diplomatic containers are suitcase size or bigger.

AFAIK you'd only need to do paperwork if the serialized part was damaged beyond repair. So if you have a serialized outer tube, don't put a bullet through the side. If you have a serialized base, you'd have to fuck up bad to destroy it. All this can be mitigated by just buying an alignment rod and checking for proper alignment of your silencer on any gun you put it on. Huxwrx has a decent one that isn't too pricey. Just keep it in its packaging when not in use and keep it out of harm's way. On a peg rack or thumbtack on a wall, something like that. Also check what calibers, barrel lengths, and firing speed (ie. full auto rated) it's meant for. And checking that it isn't working loose every few rounds after first putting it on, then less and less (at least how it works on my 22). That prevents it coming loose and getting out of alignment causing a baffle strike. Really paranoid or hard use? Put a line from silencer base to barrel with a paint pen. White for easy reading, bright colors for extra visibility (pink, green, orange, blue), or black for harder to read but looks less shit. If it moves, the paint cracks or you can visibly see it misaligned. PS: that also works for any screw on a gun that likes to come loose, including scope rings and the movement/rotation of the scope tube itself. I also hope you got the paperwork and did whatever it is you have to do to inherit NFA stuff; I remember hearing about that years ago but it isn't exactly a common topic. IIRC that may have been fee-free even before the removal of the $200 fee. But also don't admit if you didn't; quietly figure out how to get your shit fixed if that's the case.
>>64831769
Only shoot silenced subsonic 22LR like I do because I can't afford a steady diet of 250+ rds a range trip in 5.56. Being into old 22s and hunting with 22 helps as well. =)

"Thread inserts"?
>>64835766
You can get thread adapters. I had to get a 1/2x20 to 1/2x28 adapter because I'm a dumbass with one of the few 1/2x20 threaded 10/22s in the US. If it isn't common, you might be more SOL but the reputable companies that make these adapters (read: NOT some amazon/ebay chinkshit) might make you one custom. Couldn't hurt to ask. Can't remember who I got mine from but they were easily a first page search result for "1/2x20 to 1/2x28 adapter". Also check alignment because thread adapter + guns known to have "good enough" thread alignment = recipe for "oh shit".
>>
>>64831629
Real answer is to find an 07/02 and ask them. Reading through suppressor discussions between 07/02s on weaponeer it sounds like there's no hard and fast guidance on what constitutes repair so they go by the guidance from their local field agent which is not consistent across the country.

i'm thinking of doing that
was wondering what a good explosive filler would be but as it turns out aside from some use of tnt most of the fillers for grenades in ww1/ww2 were black powder, blank powder, simple 2-3 ingredient flash powder, and tannerite
i'd be looking to use something a little more powerful than black powder, but about as sensitive as black powder where it wont be set off easily as flash powder but can still be set off with a spark, since i wanna use an electric fuse for reliability sake

What are the advantages and disadvantages of scale armor compared to chain mail? And above all, why wasn't it as widespread in Europe as chain mail, plate armor, and various types of brigandines?
It seems to me that scale armor has practical advantages over chain mail (easier to produce, better protection), even though I can also see disadvantages (probably more expensive due to the amount of metal used). Do you have any sources (even online, videos, or articles) on this topic?

Honestly dude, a flashlight's a flashlight. Just get the one you think looks coolest. I like the one with the pressure pad on the wire.
Basically what you're paying for is a guarantee that it won't break under normal use and a good warranty program if you do manage to break it. Streamlight's pretty good for that.

I’ve got a stupid question.
>complying
I know…
My grandpa just passed away recently. He wanted me to have his handgun. I live in California and have a CoE and my FSC. Grandpa though, lived in Arizona, and he isn’t grandpa blood since grandma got divorced before I was born, he’s just the guy who has lived with her the entire time I’ve been alive and has always been grandpa to the whole family.
I know if he was a California resident and grandfather by blood I could just fill out a form, send them a few $$$ and take possession. But how does this work since he lived in another state? Inestate transfers should work the same way, so even if they want to be dicks about whether or not we are technically family nothing changes on that front about the way I take possession, right?
