Made some good progress on the LR300blk today.
Swapped in fresh gas rings, probably close to 2000 rounds suppressed on the original ones, and maybe a solid bit in high pressure overgassed configs, so perhaps the rings were toast?
Fresh deep clean on gun, and instead of trying to get the Sandman K to run, just used the Omega 300 exclusively.
Ran 100rnds of Magtech 123gr supersonic flawless in W.A.R. gas restrict mode, and 100 rounds flawless 200gr subsonic Magtech in full W.A.R. gas mode, all in position 13 on Superlative Arms adjustable gas block, 0.116" gas port diameter 9" barrel. Superlative Arms adjustable gas block is full open in position 18, full closed in position 1/0

Tried to run a few rounds of HSL 150gr reman supers and immediately had failures to feed. Opened Superlative gas block up to position 18 full open and it ran well for a mag. Packed up and called it a day.

Who would have thought a low back pressure can (Sandman K) plus changing to different random (albeit cheap, ~40cpr shipped) supersonic reman ammo would cause so many issues.

Something something operational envelope of a bufferless system with adjustable gas a tons of gas leakage inefficiency points...

16" BCM Middy, H3 Buffer, Turbo T3. This is 3 rounds of M193. The pic makes it look worse than it is... brass is landing around 2 o'clock ~10' away. Would dropping in a Springco Blue help? For what it's worth brass is around 3:30 with the suppressor off.

Yeah, it works great actually. With PMC Bronze it actually ejects right between 2:30 and 3, but with 5.56 it throws the brass a little further forward. Maybe I've fallen victim to too much groupthink on Tube and r*ddit. I was of the understanding that if she's not ejecting 3 o'clock or better the riffle was beating itself to death.

Does the FSP get in the way of an acog?

I googled it and everyone says you can't see it, or at most you see a slight shadow but I'm not convinced

It doesn't "get in the way", but there is slight dark spot/shadow/blur from the FSP on both ACOG and LPVO.
I never notice it at the range or when shooting, only when I'm home fiddling with my setup.

It depends. If you're trying to set and truly forget and want reliable (life or death) function in both suppressed and unsuppressed, with ANY ammo, I would do the following. Take your primary training ammo, whatever it may be, steel cased 55gr or like STV Scorpio M193 or whatever, take the can off, starting in full open (position 18) dial clockwise click at a time restricting gas, firing one round at a time with an empty mag in a gun, looking for failure to lock back on the empty mag. Once you get to a setting that has reliable failures to lock back, open the gas (counter clockwise) by one setting, and you should get semi or reliable lock back, with training ammo, on an empty mag unsuppressed. IMO that is a fine set and forget location, because marginal unreliability with training ammo without a can is like considered decent gassing overall. You should get good reliable function with a can and training ammo, and you should get totally reliably function even if a hair overgassed with hot defensive ammo and the can. Might you get a malfunction here and there without the can with weak training ammo? Yeah sure, but that shouldn't be the configuration in a serious case.

Better yet though IMO is just to change that shitty CTR to a superior aesthetically and functionally B5 SOPMOD Enhanced and in one of the storage tubes throw the Superlative Arms adjuster allen key, and figure out what position settings you need for reliable function with good recoil impulse in the different configurations with different ammo you might need (hell write it on a piece of paper, laminate it, and stick it in the tube if you like, something like "No can, weak ammo: 18, no can hot ammo: 16, can weak ammo: 15, can hot ammo: 13" or w.e" and just adjust as necessary.
IME the Superlative Arms adjuster works decently well. I would adjust it every time you clean the gun though.

Starting in the overgassed position biases your establishing of the "correct" position in the overgassed config. This is method biases the gun towards reliability. Shortly before he died, my late father in law saw something on TV that made him want to panic buy a couple AR-15s. He had a big gun collection but mostly fudd stuff. He wanted to get them as parts and assemble them on 80%s with me but we never got the chance. The parts have been sitting in my garage for years. I enjoy shooting my M16A1 surplus parts kit build a lot and lately I have been thinking I'd like a more modernish 20" too so I finally got off my ass and finished these. He bought really nice Colt M16 replacement barrels. Didn't bother to make 80%s since I already had spare lowers but here they are. Now I have 3 M16s. Thanks for reading my blogpost.

How heavy are your rifles? Either my scale is off or something weird is going on. Unloaded and with no suppressor my 10.3" is 7.9lb. I use an LT660 on one setup and it's piggybacked on an elcan on another.
The LT660 is very easy to passive aim with and since it sits lower than a Unity riser it providers lower HOB and also let's you get more of your face on the stock.
My first optic was an EXPS3 and I really wish I just listened to everyone who told me to get a T2 because it's what I found to be the best after a lot of trial and error.
T2 in a larue LT660 with an eotech G33 magnifier in the standard FTS mount is the goated setup.
