How do I join a militia? Recently i've started to pull away from my job and focus more on survival skills as im wary of the future of the US. Im based in Florida and while I own firearms im aware I have a lack of survival knowledge and no group to rely on. Ive wanted to join something to give me these skills but I feel like people gatekeep it so hard. How do you do it

literally just join the national guard. go infantry. if you really hate it you can be a loser and go awol and they probably won't even do anything to you because it's just the national guard and they don't want to lose the funding they get from keeping you on the roster (you are a loser if you do this though). but you might find you actually like it, and might get to meet some cool dudes in your area with interests in guns and survival and that kind of shit too.

A lot of people will call you a glownigger, but its a genuine question that deserves a genuine answer.
Most militias aren't online, the ones that do have public accounts probably aren't the ones you want to hang with. Sure there may be some great guys in there, but the org itself is going to suffer from poor opsec and poor vetting most likely. Local militias are more likely to be guys that know each other from church, the range, work, bowling league, whatever. Joining them will be more difficult than asking how on twitter since you need to actually integrate yourself into their circle.
You want my advice, doing it yourself it the only way to make sure that you aren't joining a honeypot or being infiltrated. Find some guys at the range or whatever, become friends, shoot together occasionally, teach each other skills that the others don't have, and boom you've got everything good you would have gotten from a militia without dealing with the big personalities and crazies of a 21st century American militia.

you cant. the feds banned private militias in the late 1800s and Woodrow Wilson created the national guard's dual enlistment system to side step the constitution and make it so you are in the army. only some states have non national guard state militias and of them most only have a very small force for parades and ceremonies

there is non federal, state-based militias
they are armed and somewhat trained
however, this is pretty much as low as it gets
like basically the equivalent of Planetary Defense Force in 40k (aka the guys who couldnt pass the Imperial Guard exam)
