Specifically this the Mexican munisalva pistol which is just a blank gun that fires a air gun pellet

ATF says it's a firearm. Same as those Mexican blank-powered pellet guns a long time ago. Problem is convincing people to buy something like this when the exact same paperwork/money gets you a real firearm firing actual cartridges.

US Law is backwards in some ways. Air gun pellet pushed by blank cartridge = "Firearm".
These are not. Note Pocket Model Grips.
S.O.P. is Triplex Load pushing LEE short conicals.

Took a lot of thought but finally arrived at a powder load pushes these LEE 160s at 1000fps
from 3" barrels. On paper should be same power as stock .45 auto out of 5" barrel.
- Which originally matched .45 LC which originally matched Civil War 1860 w/ 8" barrel.

I also forgot to post this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munisalva

I've been looking for something like that for my 1851 Navy Colt.

And that load is?

What's the formula you came up with?

I'm going to list it but realize it walks closely on the ragged edge. You are going to need a .480" cookie cutter to make paper wads. It isn't that hard = hardware store plumbing, buy a set of hole punchers at Harbor Freight.
Next thing is Fire Retardant Paper. Walmart sells those bags you set candles in called "Luminaries". No you can't just use Card Stock, Aluminum Foil, Felt Wads or any of that shit. Each load requires one .480 Cigarette paper Disc, and (for starters) two Fire Retardant Paper .480" discs.

Doesn't fire fixed ammo. Not legally a firearm.
>>
>>64837676Get some Guns of the West All natural Bullet Lube. It's rock hard at room temp. Use can lid, chip some out, float can lid in pan of 150-160F water. Mix "Micron Moly Powder" in until chalky. Then melt in a little more GOTWANBL until it flows. Set some LEE 160s ass-down in the lube and heat it slugs-n-all to 150-160F. Yer gonna need your cooky cutter to retrieve them. That black non-petroleum grease is the key to firing six without leading, pressure buildup, and explosion.

What the hell am I looking at
>>
>>64837676 Brand new Remington #10 caps, I use Locktite on them AND those cutoff little pieces tubing. Then 4grains (everything is weighted) 4F Swiss. Then Cigarette Paper Wad.
Then 25gr 3F Triple Se7en. Then two Fire Retardant Paper Wads. Then 2.5 grains (old 1980s) Winchester 231 Ball Powder. Then the grease-ful 160gr LEE .452" dia slug.

What I cam up with is 1) The dab of smokeless is flat against the base of the LEE slug (kept cool) and the fire retardant paper keeps the heat off the smokeless until the slug is jumping the chamber mouth >> forcing cone.
>>
>>64837954
About Every gun ever made the pressure maxxes out before the slug even starts to move.
This one, too = I measured - but the smokeless does a better faster job of "chasing" that short slug down that short barrel.
I specifically caution you not to use that load in a barrel longer than 3", or skip the grease, or skip the special wads. Took me two years 9 months and high speed camera and piezo pressure shit to creep up on 980fps.
>>
>>64837996
What piezo shit do you use? Pressuretrace went out of business during covid and oehler is an arm and a leg

ATF says blanks count because they say so and can Waco your place if you disagree. That's how those Mexican pellet guns that used .22 blanks got reclassified as firearms and stopped getting imported.
>>

Why would an object being classified as a firearm stop being imported? Every Glock says AUSTRIA on it, right?

My Glock was made in Georgia, what?
