To think I have reached the point of having 30 handguns soon
the TX-22 and USP 40 will be my 29th, and 30th handgun on hand, respectively

Here's an interesting platypus of a gun I saw at my LGS. Apparently there's a Turk copy of a Springfield XD, only it has no grip safety and it takes CZ-75 magazines.
It's called a KOR FX9, costs $330, comes with Mec-Gar magazines and the YT reviews are overwhelmingly positive. Anyone else seen one of these things? I might pick it up as a companion to my CZ because it's cheap, but of course

Because he felt guilty for fapping too much, had a "religious revival", fancies himself an actual Christian now and therefore sees any country that's not majority Christian along with their entire population as our irredeemable sworn enemy.
That's not to say Turks are saints or anything. They're opportunists. But the foaming at the mouth sworn eternal hatred against them is ridiculous.

>Do not give money to Turkey
That's a much broader statement, indicating that it's a faux pas to buy anything that financially benefits any enterprise or person in Turkey even if the product is good or good value.
On that note.
>All their shit sux lol
Well that's about half true. They have shown an ability to make competent or even very good firearms if they put in the effort.
I think part of the problem is people who got burned by Turkshit assuming that all of it is the same and another part coping because they spent a lot more money on their gun and now they just need to believe that theirs is indeed 4x better. It isn't. Cheap guns can be extremely good nowadays. It's a very competitive market and that's a good thing. Premium mediocre gunmakers need to be scared into giving a fuck or else they'll charge a premium for slop that's even worse than Turkshit without going out of business as they should.

Posted in the wrong fucking thread yesterday. Embarrassing.
I'm getting a couple mag springs, and the 24lb recoil spring/rod set from Wolf for my M&P 45.
Since I'm placing the order, is there any point to any recoil springs heavier than the stock 16lb spring just to reduce recoil for regular range ammo?
Recoil isn't bad, but a 17 or 18 or 19 spring is just $9. Is this retarded?
Will any of them reduce recoil at all without screwing the reliability of standard pressure 45? Lightest ammo would be 135gr Underwood Xtreme Defender.
>>
>>65077732
It's generally okay to use heavy springs unless you are running competition grade ammo. Defense ammo is typically pressured enough to where you can go with a very heavy spring. With that said, the difference is only slightly more than placebo. A weak spring is much more noticeable than a strong one in terms of recoil.

>Its gonna look dumb as fuck, the prism is way bigger than pistol dots.
Looking dumb is fine, I'm more concerned with function. Is it too heavy for the regular spring weight vs. your standard Holosun or Vortex?
>Get a green dot or cope.
I'm also concerned about durability, astigmatism compliance isn't the only factor.
>>65078160
I have noticed that green dots are a fair bit better than red for me. Red isn't ALWAYS bad, but it's pretty consistently poor. The etched reticle is a major draw for me.
>>
>>
>>65078244
The pistol dots you'd be bothering to use are as durable if not more durable than a lot of budget rifle optics. A vortex or even holosun pistol dot will be smaller and outside of QC problems it shouldn't die on you. If you absolutely can't be bothered with a direct mount pistol optic I'd consider a frame optic mount so at the very least the weight won't give you reliability issues.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>65077732
Are you sure you should be moving up in weight, and not down? Is the slide actually bottoming out during the cycle, indicating your springs are too light? Most people go DOWN in RSA weight to reduce recoil, because a lot of duty-focused guns are oversprung from the factory to increase the envelope of ammo they can cycle reliably.

I don't have one because of that reason. The MSRP ~6-7 years ago was originally $1,800 with vendors undercutting one another before it came out, I saw it as low as $1,500 on gun.deals (OOS, wasn't released yet). Now MSRP is $3,000 which is frigging absurd, but vendors have it around $2,000
Given inflation between then and now I guess it's not so bad

Finally took the Security Six to the range and gah dahm that .357 has a lot of kick I wasn't expecting it to be that bad. Started off with training rounds, then wadcutters, normal .38 and finally .357 but I still wasn't prepared for it. When I got up to 15 yards my shoots were going way off to the right and that's when I noticed the rear sights was off center. Think I liked shooting wadcutters the most despite it being really smokey.

If you get a set of factory rubber grips they'll help a lot. I've had a Security Six just like that for years and that was the first upgrade. I can shoot 38+P all day with the wood grips but only about a cylinder of 357 before I'm done. With the rubber grips it's not a problem.
Shame they don't look as nice though.

Just picked up my charter arms walker. 1st impressions are that is is very nice. Good timing, no end shake, damn thing even came with snap caps so you can test the trigger. Trigger is significantly better than my Sp101or my j frames were out of the box. It is surprisingly smooth and light. It's no performance center, but it doesn't feel like a 22lr revolver. I'll have to shoot it next time I'm at the range, but initial impression is that it is awesome, especially for the price.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>65079135
Not really. There's the PPK in 380 or in 32, the PPK/S, the US made examples as well as German ones from various importers, some .22lr versions, stainless vs blue for all of the above, wartime bringbacks, and then there's the PP. If you want to get granular it's actually a pretty big family just within Walther production.

Recoil would destroy it pretty quickly, those things are not meant for two-directional Gs as high as a pistol slide (I want to say it's about 4x more than the prism could take). Also also the weight would have a deleterious effect on reliability that is unlikely to be overcome by playing musical springs
The GLX PA prisms have "infinite" eye relief so that wouldn't be a problem, but keeping that little tube lined up perfectly with your eye at arm's length with a 2.5" offset from bore would be unpleasant even if the above weren't roadblocks. Not worth the hassle over a big ass dot turned to low brightness. Or new glasses

I was asking last thread about custom grips being made
I decided to do each part separately, with wooden grips with a hole plus metal/enamel pins
My next question is would someone working on making a place to set in the pin be able to get the shape cutout precise enough to hold it in nice and close?
I am mainly worried about the sharp angles and also the area in between the angled ends of the ribbon
I will of course have the area between the ribbon and center filled in, but that still leaves some extreme sharp corners
The pin would have to be pretty small, as hi-power grips are pretty narrow
Apparently the official medallions for them are only 1/2 inch across
I would have a company make the center part that small, and the ribbon would be a little extra above and below
It is easy to get a perfectly round indentation, but how would the person making the grips be able to have both the curved and hard-edged sections of the design?

Laser engraving could do it, probably wouldn't be that expensive. They can do custom designs at trophy shops and such, it wouldn't be a stretch to ask one to run a program 20 times or whatever and burn deep like they do with laser checkering (picture related). You could use a forstner bit to make the central circle but why bother when laser engraving can do the whole intricate shape. Alternatively you could simply have the emblem made round with a black surround to encircle the ribbons on the pin, and then use just the simple forstner bit.
I don't imagine getting custom enameled cast brass emblems would be cheap but I have no idea

They were the thing to have to get a great trigger in a hammer fired gun a few years ago. Now with the proliferation of 2011s and how cheap 2011s are getting, they're harder to justify in 2026. If you wanted a souped up hammer fired for carry then they're still a good choice since they're reliable, DA/SA with decocker only, and drop safe unlike 2011s/modified Shadow 2s.
You could always just buy a used 92 and just stick in the LTT trigger stuff and get 70-80% of the way there.

The technology was not developed by FN. it was by this company for AR/VR use. They just licensed the technology, it would be very interesting if other companies did the same. They probably got a third party to make the housing as well, I would expect it to be US assembled like the Eotech to check off the “made in America” box for military/law enforcement contracts.

Yeah right, something is funky here. Obviously then it's not a laser diode which already makes it sus
I'm intrigued but

It’s actually holographic me thinks. If they can get a HUD to work this close up to your face it’s an actual holographic display.

Actually now I think about it my DIO FC1 is holographic with an LED but it uses a prism to achieve the effect. It has no parallax or distortion, is perfectly clear like an Eotech. It also uses a coin cell and lasts longer than 500 hours, but not a year. I guess if they use a different technology than the prism to reduce size and weight, and couple it with a pistol red dot emitter
I'm cumming around but how has no one thought of this for the three decades EOTech and pistol dots have coexisted? There has to be a reason. Holosun can put a man on the moon (make a thermal pistol optic) but they can't do this? Cum on

since their site uses the word "lithography" (the shit they use for semiconductor manufacturing) and in the micro and nano scale, this shit is never going to be cheap
the 750 dollar MSRP from FN actually sounds decent for an actual holographic display

>My EPS and Romeo-X also have the tint, its endemic.
tint is by design, it pops the red more for your eyes so it's higher contrast for the same brightness. The EPS doesn't have much tint.
Tint is completely fine, it's parallax that's the real issue and will make your dot "off" and not actually on POI.
If you shoot target focus you will never notice the tint

The tint is the lesser of its evils and can be ignored, the MASSIVE distortion and 1.1x magnification are the bigger problems. Those make it hard for me to focus through a Trijewcon with both eyes open
>>
>>
>>65081228
Not for me, only thing that works for me is tuning the brightness to be just right. Astigmatism is like autism in that everyone seems to have a custom specific issue that few others have. My "footballs" in my eyes are extra pointy and one is off at a 10 degree angle.

It's cope for a shitty dot. They can't make a good one with good battery life so they do this to make it last longer. If they could make it without the tint and not burn through batteries every month then they would. Fuck tint, don't make excuses for them.
>>
>>65081252
>Astigmatism is like autism in that everyone seems to have a custom specific issue
It literally is like that, which is why your optometrist is supposed to examine your astigmatism and adjust your prescription accordingly. Not all of them do that so you get people with glasses who still can't use a red dot.

Yes. Less recoil is less recoil, it's the closest thing you can do to buy skill. As a self defense weapon you want every advantage you can get, porting is almost "free" as it doesn't increase weight or change reliability that much. The gun will get much dirtier quicker though.
No. Comping/Porting do have downsides, jacket separation (depends on porting job), but to me the most major one is how uncomfortable it makes shooting one in a cramped interior (like a shooting stall). They're louder and direct more muzzle blast to the sides ~ closer to your face. It's noticeable.
Maybe. I have ported guns but I don't carry them. I shot a shield plus comp and it didn't wow me. They're interesting to shoot but don't eliminate recoil like a properly built compensated gun (Staccato XC for example).
>>
>>65081640
>Yes. Less recoil is less recoil, it's the closest thing you can do to buy skill. As a self defense weapon you want every advantage you can get
Imagine giving a shit about recoil. I recoilmax. Every shot hurts my hand. One bullet would obliterate any opponent that i would reasonably find in any scenario, whether urban or rural.

They have an agreement with the companies to handle RMAs. You’re supposed to hand it directly to an employee as it’s a dangerous item but I’ve just dropped them in drop boxes before (the one in the store) since some Africans were in line and they take 30 minutes minimum for some fucking reason.

Just took the Charter Arms Walker to the range and shot a shitload of Federal Automatch and a box of Federal Punch through it. Overall, I quite like it. The trigger is really nice, ejection was perfect, only FtF were with the loose bulk automatch ammo. They all fired fine with a restrike. There was one problem though. It shoots 6 freaking inches low with both the Automatch AND the Punch. Accuracy was pretty damn good though. I got 1.5 inch groups at 15 yards if I went slow with it. I'll ask Charter if they recommend filing the front sight down or if they want me to send it in to them to adjust it. Windage was perfect, but it was just REALLY low. Once I get the elevation fixed, I'll have to take it out again.

Before grinding down the front sight, try replicating the issue with different ammo types. I doubt there will be a difference, but it's good policy to make sure it's not the ammo.

It depends on where you live. Some places have way more viable shooting areas than others. Always make sure your town ordinances don't prohibit shooting in the woods. As for trespassing, as long as there's no sign, you're not trespassing. And if you're deep enough in the woods where no one is around, it doesn't matter if there's a trespass sign or not honestly. If a gun is fired in the woods, and no one is around to hear it, did it really go off? If a joint is smoked in the woods, but no one is around to smell it, did it really get burned?

I'm pissed off. I'm older and always liked old Sig. Never had many handguns having being from California but when I left I was happy to finally get the unaltered AR's I always wanted. Trying to keep things simple I thought I was going to be happy with a P365XL and some variation of P320. I have the P365XL to which I have had no problems after probably 900 rounds or so. Never got the 320 and I'm glad I didn't. The whole 320 fiasco has soured me to anything Sig. I still might grab a 226 MK 25 if I find one for a good price but honestly. Fuck Sig. Here is the question. I'm looking for alternatives. Not opposed to Glock but that's the least interesting one to me. Still, if it works, is quality and will run then I'm good with it. G48 + G19/17 or do I go Walther, CZ, HK, Beretta? Anything else? Looking for a micro plus a G19/G17 size pistol for range/home defense.
>>
>>
>>65082450
Not really a question so much as a rant
>mad at Sig
They handled the scandal very poorly, I'll admit. But in the objective eye, a shitty company can make good products. It's not so much about the make, as it is about the model
>>
>>
>>
>>65082469
Fair enough. Long day. Anyway, let me try to rephrase. I'm unhappy with the current leadership and actions taken by Sig USA. I don't have faith in the 320 although I'm happy with my 365XL yet I'm left with the question of can I truly trust it? I am interested in moving over to another set up, but considering the amount of options offered by other companies I'm asking what could be a viable alternative to the 365xl and either a compact or full size pistol that could fit my expectation for a reliable pistol. Glock is the safe choice but I'm looking for alternatives considering my own limitations by lack of experience. If Glock then it will be Glock. If something else... I'll try to get my hands on it and give it a go.
>>
>>
>>65082487
You're thinking too much about brand and not enough about model. No one that i know is complaining about the safety of the 365, because it has a different type of trigger mechanism than the unsafe 226. So yes, you can trust it. But just to be sure, you could always drop test it on purpose. Hell, film it and post results here.

Out of curiosity if that came from hornadys book was it supposed to be using hornadys 200 gn xtps? Because those are like .55-.56 in length, the 200 gn sierras are longer and since you put in the over all length for the Hornady load it’ll think your seating those sierra bullets deeper which limits the case capacity….
>>
>>65082530
I'm not so concerned with the 365 considering it's been my ccw pistol for over a year and I haven't had a single problem with it. I'm just wondering if there's a solid go to option for a G19/G17 pistol that's good to go. The fact that I even use G19/G17 already leads me to Glock in the same way if I want to trade/sell my 365XL I might consider a 43x or 48. Basically distill it down to do I go Glock or go PDP or P10? Fuck it.... just confirm my bias or give me a straight answer. Watch I'll end up with a PX4 carry and a G17.5 or say fuck y'all and go HK. Heaven help me, too many fucking options. I just want 2 pistols that run.

357 isn't even expensive. It's more than 9mm, but that don't make it expensive. Besides, if that's really a problem for you, then learn to reload. If Twink can do it, why can't you?
>>
>>65081937
I think 9mm is a based choice. I even have a 9mm upper for my AR-15. It's fun as fuck on the range.
.22lr is kind of a love-hate relationship. I wish they were tiny center fire cartridges instead of this rimfire bullshit.
