Linux ricing can be so much fun! And I definitely get the struggles with XSession. Lately I switched to Wayland (got CachyOS cause I didn't wanna deal with all of the basic stuff of setting up Arch from scratch) with Hyprland and it's been going quite well.
Different monitors and keyboard layout management for example are soo much easier and seem to just work now :D

im still on X cuz im using a thinkpad T480 and it has this crappy little nvidia gpu called an mx150 that everyone says is terrible and i should just forget about but i just think it's cute ok >< so i wanna use it, not for playing games or anything but i figure it might still be useful for my silly little opengl programs and i just read all this stuff that nvidia hybrid graphics works better with X
oh man i haven't even used a multi monitor setup in years, just takes up too much desk space Dx but sometimes i miss the convenience
i tried running arch once, partitioned my drive in what i thought was a pretty bog standard way and tried to mount the file system and it dumped core and after that i gave up on arch lole
