The chief asks why the twink doesn't value his own life and the twink that no one in his family ever valued him, so why should he. The chief can't help but feel sympathy, being an orphan himself, and vows to take him under his wing under the pretense of making him worth something once he's sold. The twink steadily opens up surrounded by the brutish men, being witty and insightful, leading to the group developing a fondness for him. When they find a seller, the chief is reluctant to sell the twink, and asks the twink to ask not to be sold, but the twink tells him to do what he wants.
