02/02/26(Mon)12:16:12 No.25062215 Prisoner of Azkaban is the best book right?
Time loop, complex characters, no magical boys/girls.
No fuckin dobby either.

02/02/26(Mon)16:53:20 No.25062645 I still have no idea how the time turned is supposed to work. Hermione still has to “return” to the present when using it to double up on classes, so all she’s really doing is aging faster than anyone else.

No that would be order of phoenix
I'd honestly put prisoner in the bottom three just because of all the damn quidditch

Chamber is the best.
It has the greatest feeling of dark mystery that a story about magic should have.
I do think the story gets better later with more characters like Sirius being introduced but I wish the tone of Chamber had been followed more closely.

It is goblet of fire to me because I preferred the ordinary wizard world passages to the voldemort related shenanigans

Seconding order of the Phoenix. Haven't read it in almost twenty years but I remember it being firmly my favorite, followed by Goblet of Fire

Phoenix is too long and the ending like a fifth of the book.

Back when I was a kid we had attention spans. It was a different time. Most kids I know actually marathoned it and were buried in it all day for days the way kids are today with their phones

I knew kids like that too but even powering through it back in 2007 it still took me a few weeks.

I've been re-reading them recently, I just finished Goblet of Fire and I think it beats Azkaban easily.
Order of the Phoenix was my fav as a kid so hopefully it still stands up.

Did you read a lot of more difficult books? I think my favorite book at that age was Discourses on Livy. Harry Potter was like reading a comic in comparison

02/02/26(Mon)19:27:42 No.25062974 Prisoner of Azkaban is the best movie, Goblet of Fire is the best book, there should have been two parts to Goblet of Fire, but Hollywood was afraid
