But you're posting a diamond in the rough OP. There is no other book akin to The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. This is formative in a way most other novels just are not. It's beyond comparison, similar to The Catcher In The Rye.

it was pitched to me as catcher in the rye 2 when I was a teen and I definitely had a similar emotional reaction to both. I can't remember much from it desu, but I do remember that the main character loved "asleep" by the smiths, which if I read that now for the first time I'd be rolling my eyes hard lol. Way too on the nose. As a little 13 year old emo boy who liked the smiths tho that shit was hitting. I remember how it felt then, and desu I should value that more than how my adult self cringes at that idea
