Suppose the thought were to occur to you that it is possible, or at least conceivable, that you are just dreaming at this moment, that you are still asleep in bed, dreaming about shitposting on /lit/.
How would you prove to yourself that this is not true, that you are indeed awake?

Mere thought and self-awareness proves that I am awake. Sleeping removes self-awareness for the most part, which is why you get fooled

Because dreams are utterly unlike the waking experience.
Dream moar.

Back when I was into lucid dreaming I had a few tests I'd perform throughout the day to see if I'm in a dream. I'd do it a lot while awake just to get into the habit so that I'd remember to do it in my sleep.
The tests included poking a surface that should be solid and seeing if my finger went through, reading a body of text and then rereading it to see if it changed, and doing the same with a clock.
Reality isn't literally a dream. It only represents a dream of the world of the pure forms.

Pinch your nose. If you're still able to breathe through it, you're dreaming.

While lucid dreaming, I have brushed a sandstone wall with my fingertips, and squeezed the twigs of a privet hedge. Both sensations felt completely real.
Lucid or not, your dreams have rules which you are not allowed to break.

Impossible. Read JJ Valberg's Dream, Death, and the Self for an exhaustive examination of this question.

I can read your post. Reading in dreams is extremely difficult and the content usually changes if you try rereading it. Also I am typing this post, which is a finesse task that is basically impossible to perform while dreaming
Dreams aren't like movies inside your head. They're more like videogames, if anything. Extremely janky videogames with very awful controls

Last night I dreamt of my dead cat. Fuck my life, I could touch him and it felt so real.
