I don't like the Kamen Riders that uses devices to transform. I get it, they are toys to be sold. But I think Kamen Riders that just transform using their will are much cooler- the belts and other gears can show up as they transforms.

It's just the new status quo now, it's why I kinda stopped watching modern kamen rider shows after 2015, I realized it was dumb as hell. You got serious moments in these shows, then they whip out their goofy colorful belt, they insert their little toys into it, the belt starts singing and playing little cute jingles, it's so fucking dumb. Sadly people like us are considered out of touch contrarian boomer retards, and I'm fine with that label, but it doesn't change the fact that it's indeed silly.

Does it count as a device if it's an actual body part (albeit modified)?

That's basically just Agito and Hibiki.
Hell, there are probably more Riders whose power source is explicitly tied to their willpower after they started using trinkets than before it. Zeztz is one and it's currently airing.

There is such a thing as going too far.
I could tolerate Kamen Rider Decade. It was fast, subtle, and quick.
But I gave up around Kamen Rider Gaim when he summons a giant fruit from the sky and the sky blasts his theme song.

Who designed this crap? You can see the seams and glue on the obvious plastic helmet.

I haven't watched Ryuki in a really long time, but a quick look at the henshins on YouTube makes me think I prefer Blade because there's just a little more involved and the cards are a repeated motif in the show. I also just like Blade more as a series, honestly.

You were proven wrong before you even posted here, retard. Those aren't seams, and this is nothing compared to the helmets with extremely blatant eyeholes of yore, you could literally see the suit actor's eyes through Ichigou's black tears at times, but of course you know nothing about how people see through these helmets because you're a fucking pathetic poser who comes here to claim oldgoodnewbad without having any actual knowledge about Tokusatsu.

True, but the whole fruit chopping thing is, in my opinion, just too weird and silly. I realize these are shows for children, but Gaim is too bright and colorful for my taste. It's one of those shows where everything is clearly made out of cheap toy-grade plastic.

Toku in general is weird and silly. Blade is literally based on playing cards.
>It's one of those shows where everything is clearly made out of cheap toy-grade plastic.
Everything in every Toku is cheap plastic, sometimes painted in metallic colors, but that doesn't make it actual metal.

The ones that are obvious plastic injection mold without paint on the surface are bad because they are first and foremost toys. You see the toy on TV, you buy it, you have no right to complain if they look cheap and tacky because that's how they actually look like on TV.
The ones that are painted to look like metal are good.

Then there's the Genesis Driver, which is patterned after a glass of soda and even has drinking straws poking in and out of it.

Yeah, pic related obviously hasn't been painted, it has no shine at all, not even on the chrome gold crest. Old good new bad, am I right?
>You see the toy on TV, you buy it, you have no right to complain if they look cheap and tacky because that's how they actually look like on TV
You can't buy the props shown on TV, the props aren't even the same size as the toys outside of a few instances.
>The ones that are painted to look like metal are good
Yeah, cheap matte black foam looks very metallic and shiny.

Older fags shouldn't dictate kids' oriented franchises. You have to consider what kids today prefer instead of relying on what you used to back in your day as the general standard. There are adult-oriented series like Amazons and Black Sun. You can share your opinions about those adult-oriented series, but don't try to impose your views on today’s main series.

So you think we're only allowed to have opinions about older stuff? Are you retarded? Sharing opinions isn't an imposition on anything. They can and will make these shows how they want to, regardless of how we feel about them. But we're still allowed to talk about our preferences.

I think Blade's was the first one that was the 'clip buckle to waist and the rest of the belt expands' design too if I'm not remembering wrong. Faiz had to equip his whole belt at once and carry it around in a briefcase, Ryuki had to hold up their deck to a mirror to materialize the belt and everyone prior either summoned it with willpower or just had the belt suddenly on them when it was time to transform.
Blade's design would be the standard from then on most of the time with Faiz's occasionally being used instead.

I too miss the times when Kamen Riders were altered humans either turned into OP cyborgs (like most of them) or OP biologically enhanced ones (like Amazon and Shin).
>>23706464
Agreed about the belts. The longer Kamen Rider continues as a franchise the more bulkier and ridiculous they become.
Wished for simpler, elegant designs.
