Post your final verdicts on Ultraman Omega.
>>
>>23722779
I will completely forget everything that happened in it by next month
>>
>>23722779
6/10 easy. It was hamstrung both by the reduced budget and the bland first half. The finale was decent and the twist was interesting, but it was a slog to get there.
>>
>>23722779
kino
>>
>>23722779
Another R/B
Nothing offensive ultimately. Some neat ideas that weren't executed well, but also nothing that shat the bed majorly
>>
>>23722779
First half: 6/10
Second half: 7.5-8/10 (Depends on the episode)
Probably the one recent Ultra series really in need of a movie. Though I suppose Arc could have used one too, but more focused on the whole civil war that didn't get explored much.
>>
At this point I can safely say Arc is the best of the BAO trilogy
>>
>>23723225
It isn't a trilogy. Using that logic Z forms a trilogy with Trigger and Decker because there was a crossover episode with Z and Trigger.
>>
>>23723225
I thought Arc had some really strong individual episodes, but Blazar was the overall stronger show. I will maintain that the episode in Arc with the NEET and his ham radio alien girlfriend is one of the single best episodes of an Ultra show in recent years though.
>>
>>23723225
I've yet to watch Blazar, but Arc rocketed into being one of my all-time favorites, so I can see that holding true.
Not quite my top-tier Ultra show (that actually goes to original Ultraman) but definitely one I recommend for people new to Toku and the franchise.
>>
>>23723292
>It isn't a trilogy.
Yet
>>
>>23723225
How? Arc is the shittiest show as of late and in got an axed ending.
>>
>>23723429
That's assuming Theo won't be another Blazer/Arc/Omega style show.
>>
>>23723292
Calm your tits anon. If Theo ended up being another 'muh honored isolation', the trilogy term will be dropped
>>
>>23723295
>that fakeout first episode that tricked people into thinking it was going to be something darker and more mature only for the rest of the show to be typical New Gen stale bread
>SKaRD is fucking useless and all the characters are as deep as a puddle
>Earth Garon is fucking useless
>the entire ending arc
Blazar was shit
>>
>>23723225
I kind of liked hat episode where they were being 'erased', felt very showa. Though ultraman didn't get much to do.
>>
Can somebody enlighten me? They never did green Ultraman primarily because of green screen, but Andro Melos and now Omega's new armor gets a pass. Why is that?
>>
>>23723720
>They never did green Ultraman primarily because of green screen
Which retard tells you that? That has never been an issue, green primary is Mirrorman and related characters' color (like Mirror Knight), not Ultras'.
>>
>>23723733
Makes sense, but maybe they should do green Ultras sometime in the future.
>>
I like Ultraman and it's always strange how many people post here that don't
>>
>>23723750
Much like /krg/, /m78/ don't like their franchise and only shitposts on it.
>>
>>23723750
I always post this because it always ends up being true. The Toku generals are like a spectrum.
/krg/ is full of anons nitpicking and bitching about the show
/m78/ is in-between
/ssg/ were bootlickers up until the recent news.
>>

Naah, you're retarded.
>>
>>23723348
You should check out Blazar. I also think it's better than Arc, and it's definitely one of the most unique new gen shows for ironically realistic it feels. I really enjoy how the team in Blazar treat kaiju response like a job and their teammates like co-workers they don't even think about when they're off duty. The way the main character sighs and rubs his forehead with a "not this shit again" expression every time the alarm goes off always makes me laugh
>>
I wonder, if tsuburaya closed up shop instead of being bought out by Bandai, would Ultraman ever continue? would any other company try and continue the franchise?
>>
>>23723902
When the entire scene is CG what color things are is irrelevant.
>>
>>23724233
>closed up shop
>would ultraman ever continue
you just answered your own question. no ultraman will not continue. it will just be a cheap license for toys. you'll never get any shows or movies. toho wont buy it, they cant even make consistent godzilla content. if toho wont do it, there's no studio on earth with miniature expertise that will do it
>>
>>23724278
Counter-point: Toho always wanted their own Ultra-equivalent but never made anything as successful. They might buy it up just so they don’t have to work with imitations anymore.
>>
>>23724253
But also it doesn't matter what color the suit is because green isn't the only key color. Blue screen was default for decades before green became popular.
>>
>>23724278
they can barely make godzilla, let alone a semi consistent ultra
>>
>>23724233
>would Ultraman ever continue?
Definitely. Ultraman is a billion dollar IP. We're going to have Ultraman for the rest of our lives.
>>
>>23723720
green can be used a little bit. i mean fucking mirror knight is green and he appears in a CGI fest of a movie. the real reason for the lack of a green ultra is simply because green is fucking ugly most of the time. having it on armour is fine but a whole body being green? eugh
>>
>>23724628
It's a billion yen IP. You're off by a few digits
I don't even know that there's any billion dollar IPs outside of like Pokemon or Star Wars
>>
>>23724689
>You're off by a few digits
I'm not sure how to argue the IP valuation so I'll just point to this list and drop the subject:

What's going on with Toho as of late? The only last thing I know is Shin Godzilla. I have yet to watch most of the monster movies, really want to but forgot the place to watch them.
>>
>>23724824
They helped with Shin Ultra and also made Godzilla Minus One. There's an anime coming out that's basically Heroic Age.
>>
>>23723636
They built it up as something completely different, I'm not sure what they hoped to accomplish by misleading audiences
Also doing a "primitive" Ultra and NOT having an "evolved" form?
>>
>>23724824
Oh man, check out Minus One if you haven't yet. Easily a top 3 Goji movie.

>>23724855
Really unsure about this. Was hoping for Singular Point Season 2. I love me some high concept science fiction.
>>
>>23724990
The only real direction I could see SP2 taking is the origins of how Godzilla became "IT", how he actually turned into a metaphysical God of destruction and entropy
>>
>>23724724
Huh, Sentai is higher than Ultraman, though primarily because of Power Rangers. And Ultraman grossed higher than Gundam.
>>
>>23724724
>>23724689
Honestly, how does Pokemon maintain its unmatched number 1 position for all these years?
>>
>>23725055
Worldwide acclaim.
>>
>>23724990
Japan hated Minus One. The only reason it's getting a sequel is because it was a huge success literally everywhere else.
>>
>>23725069
"Successful due to its high levels of success"
>>
>>23725119
Ah yes, they hated it so much that it received 12 nominations at the Japanese version of the Academy Awards and won eight of them, included Best Film.
>>
>>23725055
I miss kanata. He had a great first episode
>>
>>23725055
Probably by its sheer variety of formats, all of which launched early on.
Pokémon isn’t just video game. It’s video games, manga, anime, card games, toys and more.
Sure all franchises dabble in such fields. By Ultraman has mostly just been the shows and toys. Bee a while since we had a proper Ultra video game.
>>
>>23725401
He was honestly how you write a passionate MC. He has his doubts, and it wasn't just resolved after one arc. He go through it again.

I really want to see him again. His personality on stageshow kinda show him as a pretty cool senpai
>>
>>23724233
It'd be bought up for the license anyway, which is why we're here.

If it ended up in a situation where the studio completely fell apart and Bandai just had the license, they might try to go for anime series (as in, mainline Ultra as anime, not "specifically unique concepts as Ultra anime").
>>
>>23725668
he was your typical dumbass toku MC
>>
>>23725055
First major creature collector to see mainstream success.
Complaints about quality aside, the actual monster design and concepts are still way better than all of its competition within that niche. They tend to be more creative and better at giving individual mons substance, and the art style has a solid balance of cutesyness and coolness to make it really marketable.
They have a huge set of skews that are supported regularly. And it's very easy to be a casual fan of the franchise. Like you could see some normalfag with a keychain of a Pokemon and they couldn't tell you its name but just have gotten it because it's cute, whereas something like toku, even in Japan having a keychain might be considered risky if you're a hidden otaku.
>>
>>23724233
I could see Toei buying it
>>
>>23725668
>it wasn't just resolved after one arc
because they weren't ever resolved. He was easily the most frustrating MC in the franchise because they just did not allow him to express the extremely obvious motivation that the show set up for him. It was completely fucking retarded how he never talked about his parents being trapped on Mars at any point and kept saying he didn't know what he was fighting for
>>

>>23726069
And I think that's what make him fun. It feels like his journey is still ongoing even after the series ends

I do agree on that not knowing what to fight for, though. I don't know what Naoki Hayashi was smoking
>>
>>23725119
>>23725215
Minus One did worse than Shin Godzilla in Japan by itself, but aside from Shin, it's still higher than any other Godzilla movie after the 60s.

tsuburaya isnt the one making AI NFT slop you fucking retard. it's a licensee abusing their NFT license.
>tsupro has license for ultraman NFT
>cryptofag buys the license for those NFT rights
>cryptofag also partners with NFT platforms that also happen to be deep into AI
>cryptofag and partners makes shitty AI promo
In other words, Tsuburaya isn't using AI for the Ultraman shows you fucking retard. Their ACTUAL sin here being fucking retarded and having 0 supervision on what their licensees are doing. AI being dragged into this is a consequence of letting cryptofags use their license and them not giving enough of a shit to pay attention at what the lincesees are doing. Make no mistake, these cryptofags are hellbent on going full AI and THEY WILL scam people

>>

I heard that they fixed the issues with the material since Power Type and newer releases don't have cracking issues anymore, but rubbery parts are bound to perish eventually regardless
>>
https://weibo.com/7790031436/QptzN4EgW
Blokees making Power armor Ultras, separate from their regular Ultraman lines.
Isn't there only 8~9 suits in the manga/anime?
>>
>>23730432
There's Man, Zoffy, Seven, Ace, Jack, Taro, and Marie from the main series, but there are a bunch of armors based on other Ultras that are in side materials. I wouldn't doubt if they also did at least Tiga and Zero since both of those have official figures/models.
>>
>>23730512
There are also 2 Zoffy suits, 3 Man suits, Astra and Leo and up to 3 Seven's variants (2 different equipment kits and one with the outer armor removed).
>>
>>23730512
Sounds like they have enough 2 or 3 waves at least, especially if they cover the aliens and non-canon suits.

>>
>>23730226
Power Type didn't fix the issue with the material, they avoided using it entirely.
>>
>>23730720

It's decent and has hot alien babes. I seem to remember the finale was pretty exciting. It's a completely different take on Ultraman though, to the point where it mostly just shares the name. Better than some regular Ultra shows.
>>
>>23731436
Its pretty decent.
Ultraman still exists, but the series is more about how humanity deals with the legacy of Ultraman and the aliens.
>>
>>23730432
Yeah they are also making the aliens.

>>

It's also significantly better paced than the manga it's adapted from.
>>
I never able to get into this ultra mecha show thing. It just doesn't feel like ultraman at all. Just some ironman expy with ultra paint.
>>
>>23731903
Yeah I feel the same. It feels more like a Kamen Rider or Metal Heroes show.
I’ve noticed anime of Tokusatsu tends to be really different than the series they’re based on. The Godzilla anime has all been very unconventional (though I did like Singular Point).
>>
>>23731998
I'd say the one exception is Fuuto PI since it's a direct sequel written by W's original writer, but being an anime allows for more extravagant action and effects that you just can't do on a live action toku budget.
