Is anyone ever going to tell this retard that he murdered the guy who saved his life after his family died AND drowned his waifu when she was only unconscious?

No just like how no one is going to tell him that Mu is Neo Roanoke and just like how no one confronts Yzak about being a war criminal and how no one talks about the coordinator infertility crisis or the SEED factor or anything that could be important and interesting to the story.

>drowned his waifu when she was only unconscious
She was definitely dead by then

>>23727059
Literally all of that happened, did you not listen to the drama CDs
>>

Why would stuff that should be important plot points be relegated to supplemental audio dramas for any other reason than the main anime was too incompetent to write it into the main plot?
>>
>>23727127
That’s like complaining that CCA isn’t fleshed out when Tomino wrote three novels about it. Morosawa wrote the drama CDs, if you want that stuff it’s all out there. The showrunners thought Yzak’s pardon and Mu and Shinn befriending each other wasn’t so important as to take up limited screen time in an already troubled production.
>>
>>23727101
According to who? A random braindead soldier checking for a normal pulse when coordinator doctors couldn't make sense of her body? The writers broke Kira's post-Freedom no kill policy for a random druggie when they wouldn't even do it for Rau? that don't jive
>>

Unlike SEED or Destiny CCA is complete and good on its own. In the first place you dont need to read the novels which arent supplemental material but different stories entirely.
>The showrunners thought Yzak’s pardon and Mu and Shinn befriending each other wasn’t so important as to take up limited screen time in an already troubled production.
The fact that they didnt think it was important speaks to their backwards priorities and shallow approach to character writing. Characters in SEED just dont hold grudges over important things like you would expect real people to have or like the characters in Tomino Gundam do.

>The writers broke Kira's post-Freedom no kill policy for a random druggie
What you need to understand is that Kira's "pacifism" is an example of SEEDs style over substance approach. Its not there to say something meaningful about the character or the themes, its there to make him look cool by showing that hes so good he can shoot down grunts without killing them, and when they need to have Kira to kill someone for the sake of drama in destiny they dont meaningfully address why he made an exception there because they dont care about its thematic implications in the first place. The "themes" are all set dressing in service of spectacle, meant to make the action more exciting by giving you the illusion of being profound.

You…you think he wasn’t trying to kill Ray? Anon are you ultra stupid?
>>
>>23727238
He may have been trying but they didn't let him actually get the kill. Rau still had 2-3 heartbeats left in him when Genesis took him out. Patty Z with the killsteal
>>
>>23727182
According to how her body had very little time left before she sortied (Stargazer) and she visibly dies onscreen (Destiny)
>she just passed out bro!!
Also Kira doesn’t have a no kill policy

So you think the beam saber to the cockpit just did… nothing?
>>
>>23727261
I think people forget that in the finale of SEED, Kira sinks several warships. Not just disables, outright destroys and makes them explode with beam spam. I'm also pretty sure he blows up a few mobile suits too but most of the time he goes for disabling shots.

Provide said CD dramas with accompanying english translations then please.
>>
>>23727265
It wouldn't be the first time catastrophic to a cockpit did little.

Are we sure it was him blowing up warships still at the end? Doesn't sound right, and they DID conveniently make Athrun just as capable at targeting 500 things at once for a handful of scenes (as long as he had the Meteor doing the work for him anyway). And that mofo is always up for killing people
>>
>>23727405
Kira does also do a Meteor full burst immediately after entering Messiah iirc
>>
>>23727432
Yeah Kira would typically do his best to disable even against ships, but with Messiah he just straight up annilhated the place and there was several dead bodies shown as he was infiltrating the place. But then Messiah was so big it's not like he could disable it any other way. Which is just like Destroy thinking about it, he spent most of the episode trying to disable it but when it proved too tough and shielded for that he went for the kill.

I'm pretty sure Shinn making peace with Cagalli also happened offscreen according to Fukuda, but nobody would know that because the two never interact with each other in Freedom.

In case that one is a little ambiguous, this one isn't, lol

>he murdered the guy who saved his life
Would anyone in ZAFT have known who was onboard those ships? It's not like they sent staff lists to the email before battle.
>>
Shinn wouldn't have cared mid-Destiny, after Destiny he probably would have
The guy cried the blues over Stella and then killed both of her fellow Extendeds
>>
>>23727875
People had said that was one of the ships deploying nukes, so Kira might have decided it was worth the sacrifice.
>>
>>23727581
Funnily enough Kira and Yzak never interact in Destiny or Freedom ever. In fact they don't interact in SEED outside of battle either. They never talk to each other in any of the 3 productions.
>>
>>23727873
>>23727875
Dealing with genocidal idiots armed with nukes really made even Kira decide their asses were not worthy, not to mention Raw soon deployed after that and the Providence destroys the Meteor piece by piece.

Also, I did not know this manga, The Edge, existed. Just read it a few days ago and it is kinda funny how it retells the whole GSD in just 5 volumes. Sure it skips/omits various tidbits but nothing really important.

What really caught my attention is how it properly portrays Athrun as the MC (unlike the series which obviously did not know who that was after the colony drop) but holy fuck, his chronic indecisiveness and self doubts seem really overblown for a Gundam protagonist.

Shinn is portrayed as even more unlikeable (if that is even possible) cunt and Kira is just sorta there but in contrast, sticks to his guns and beliefs while Athrun's wishy washi attitude endedup being unintentionally comical but that is just me.
>>
>>23728535
That's pretty much how Destiny shows them as well. Kira doesn't really know if what he's doing is right, but he's resolute that he needs to do something. Athrun is trying to believe he's on the right path, but he's harboring major doubts and his justifications don't make a lot of sense (sorta like Shinn by the end).
The added dialogue definitely emphasizes it. It's a good companion piece for the show.
>>
Why does Fukuda hate Shinn so much?
>>
>>23728961
I don't think Fukuda hates Shinn, he just wanted to make more stuff about Kira and Lacus.
>>
>>
>>23727313
More like they just didn't animate it to look like a charred corpse. Wouldn't be the first time Gundam did that, Camille's mom was famously turned into blood splatter.
>>
>>23726340
>the guy who saved his life after his family died
That guy is fine, he showed up in Seed Freedom.
>>
>>23733705
Cute.
>>
>>23728990
I feel you could say that about every character in the Cosmic Era. Guy seems to mostly focus on making his characters look cool and whether that's good or bad or if it's executed well or not is all a matter of opinion.
>>
>>23727101
Drama CDs aren't canon even the good 00 ones.
>>
>>23736990
Yes they are, they were written by Morosawa herself
>>
>radio silence on freedom zero for like a year now
wonder how that's going. it's probably just an hour ova.
