>haven’t watched much Gundam
>what have watched has been many years ago
>decide I want to get back into it and experience the greatness
>someone tells me to watch 0083 Stardust Memory
>outside of the animation it’s fucking dogshit
I just finished it. Nina really points a gun at Kou for Gato’s sake after everything? Are you fucking kidding me? This was a genuine example of good animation not saving a completely dogshit story, Kou was such a bitch for such a long time and the narrative twists were poorly timed and character moments were poorly written. There was such a potential, in every scene I could imagine something better happening in my head and this persisted through the entire thing after the first like 3 episodes. What were they thinking with this shit?

I will say too I’m in the middle of the last episode and I stopped paying attention to it to post this thread after Nina threatened to shoot Kou as Gato was trying to drop a colony on Earth because it was so fucking stupid.

Like 5 of them plus the African base were cool and the rest were just nothing, the Fed base guys were dumb as hell for the most part and the entire thing focused on them way too much. This whole thing just sucked so much ass story wise, the characters suck total ass and Nina’s betrayal to Kou was so fucking dumb. It was already a little off putting that all of a sudden she’d been in love with Gato a few years before but ok I can accept that but her stopping Kou from shooting Gato in exchange for potentially millions of lives was the most insane woman moment ever.

Same thing I said in the other thread I thought /a/ would give me more replies. I’m not here to talk shit about Gundam I think it’s cool as fuck I just held out the whole time of 0083 and it never lived up to what I expected.

Gato is a retarded pile of shit, his death literally means fucking nothing except he thought that he died like a fucking Japanese suicide Kamikaze pilot. Delaz's political belief also kinda just means nothing, the only good Zeon dude was that base general and the dude who pilots Xamel.

OP you will hear that the manga is good, well, guess what? don't take the bait, it's way worse.

This applies to every Gundam show I have ever watched

The colony was already going to hit Earth. All Nina did was keep Kou, her bf, from needlessly killing Gato, her ex bf. If she hadn’t been there, the only thing that changes is that Kou kills Gato, who died very shortly after regardless.

hitting earth wasn't the main problem, it was targeting whatever secret objective that the zeeks wanted to be directly impacted by the colony
it was still a stroke of poor writing since it was a pointless scene, hitting the north american granary had fuckall to do with the greater UC history anyway (Zeta was written ~5 years ago and didn't mention the AEUG rising up due to Titans starving the colonies to prioritize feeding Earth, or spacenoid resentment rising in general due to rationing)
