Most artists do art for money. Waifu stuff isn't where the money is at, especially anything outside of the popular waifus. Porn pays. The artists who don't do it for money do it for themselves and draw their specific and often niche desires.

>"Don't you see that as a problem?"
"Huh?"
>"Like, isn't it a bit too much?"
>Your wife Dewdrop, or Dew, speaks up from her third most favorite place to sit: the crook of your arm.
>"Of course not! Why would you ever think of that?"
>"Well, for starters, you guys never have any time to do anything."
>"Psssssssh, we always have time."
>"Really?"
>Incognito leans back and counts his fingers.
>"Let's see, Ward and I asked if you guys were free three months ago. You said you were, and then something came up. No problem. So we tried to reschedule things, but you said you were busy for the next month. Ok, fine, we can work with that, 'so are you guys free after that?' 'Yeah, we are.' The month passes and during that week we ask again, for Thursday. 'Sorry, Green's recital was scheduled on that day the previous week.' Alright, so we ask again when you would be free, and you guys just say some huge list. Repeat ad nauseam. Heck, this outing was scheduled just a few hours ago."
"I guess we got lucky today."
>"Yep! Morning has a club meeting after school today so she couldn't pick up the kids, but our parents swung by for a surprise visit! They're taking care of the toddlers and are going to pick up some of the kids later."
>Ward, Incognito's wife, speaks up after just finishing a smoked salmon finger sandwich washed down by tea.
>"You two never seem to get alone time, do you."
>"Hmm, I guess we don't, but we don't mind!"
"What she said."
>"Ok, but wouldn't you say the 11 kids is a /little/ excessive?"
"Make that 12."
>Both of your friends' eyes bulge out.
>"12!?"
>Your wife instantly blushes, her wings flitting for a moment before she pushes up against you, nuzzling your side.
>"Honeeeey."
>You tighten your arm around her to a comfortable squeeze.
"Hey, all I'm doing is saying the truth. It's not like they're strangers."
>Anyone looking at your wife can't tell she's pregnant. Not yet, at least.
>Your wife raises her muzzle to whisper in your ear, giggling a little as she remembers.
>"I know, but it was only a week ago!"
>You answer in kind.
"Sorry, just had to correct them."
>"Ohhhh, you are so getting it later."
>Ward raises her teacup after breaking out of a short stupor.
>"Well, congratulations. Guess you two do get /some/ alone time."
>That gets Dew giggling.
>You all tink your glasses and down their contents as Incognito speaks with eyebrow raised.
>"I don't mean to offend, but have you two ever heard of..."
>He leans in conspiratorially, inviting the both of you to do so, and speaks quietly.
>"...protection?"
>You and Dew look at each other for a split moment before she forces out a laugh, her cheeks even more rosy than a minute ago.
>>
>>42969674
>"Hahaha! Ha ha! Ha! Ha..."
>You only grin awkwardly as you side eye your love.
>What is protection?
>Her eyes look back at you.
>'Protection?????'
>You subtly shrug. That's enough for her, though.
>"Well, duh! Who hasn't? Hahahaha!"
>Ward's eyes narrow.
>Incog looks at you two oddly.
>"Riiiiiiiiiight. Then why do you guys do it? Have that many kids, I mean."
"Because the bigger a family, the happier a family."
>"And because we love all of them!"
>Your wife wiggles a little in your arm before pushing her head back on your chest, a smile gracing her face.
>"Oh, their smiles! They're so adorable!"
>She squees.
>"It's just this feeling I get when I see them happy, and when they give back the love it's just so- so fulfilling! It's a warm fuzzy blanket that follows us everywhere we go: the house to the car to the beach, all of it. Mmm, and they need one too, extra-extra fluffy! We can't just let them grow up alone."
"Even when they cause a tornado or two to tear through the house."
>That earns you a playful bat and an eye roll as she plucks yet another BLT straight to her mouth.
>"Ish's a natchural thing- bickering happens."
>You only shake your head.
"You know, you should try something else asides from the BLTs. They're pretty good."
>Grabbing a flower sandwich, you fly it to her mouth and poke it, urging her to open up.
>She obliges and in one bite takes off half of the rectangle shaped food.
"Good, huh?"
>Already she's reaching for another BLT.
>"It's okay. I'd rather another one of these, though."
>"What's up with the BLTs? I never knew you were into bacon that much."
"It's a new thing, I suppose. She's been feeding the kids a bunch of healthy things lately, and I think sooooommeone is missing the taste of grease."
>"Hay! I'm nhot! I'm jush en-joying wot the reshtaurant ish offering!"
"They didn't make us order 14 BLTs."
>You pop the remaining half of the flower sandwich into your mouth for a fresh pop. It pairs well after roast beef.
>"Then they shouldn't have put it on the menu."
>"I feel the same for our kids too. Just not as... /extreme/ as you guys."
>Ward and Incog exchange a glance, but it passes as quickly as it appears.
>"I need to ask how."
>You look to Ward.
"How what?"
>"How do you afford this? We only have 3 and it's already a headache balancing the books."
>Incognito pinches his nose.
>"Tell me about it."
>"Wellllll, Anon here got a promotion when we were on our third. And then a big promotion before our seventh. And then a raise too, just a few years ago."
>Ward raises an eyebrow.
>"You said you were doing okay at your job, not this."
>>
>>42969678
"What can I say? I'm good at what I do."
>Dewy titters.
>"Especially at talking~"
>Ward grimaces for a split second at your wife's tone. She hates it, and Dew knows it.
>"Ok, but that doesn't explain how you expanded your house. I remember when you added four extra bedrooms and doubled the living room's size in one go."
>Incognito warily looks to Ward, continuing her thoughts.
>"That's without saying the other additions..."
>He raises a fist to his mouth.
>"*cough* *cough* the /theater/ *cough*"
>You can only grin and hold your Dew closer.
>Twenty seats with heaters and folding trays (and a special two seater for yours and yours truly), full surround sound, and an 8K 15 hoof projector.
>All expenses paid.
"I'm not surprised you don't know about it, the Department has this little program called the 'Multi-Assistive Reassurance Entitlement.' It's somewhere buried underneath all of the other programs, and nobody ever reads that stuff. Heck, we never knew about it until they sent us a pamphlet when Fresh and Unnamed were born."
>Ward looks at you with a deadpan, a half eaten Benedict grass sandwich on her plate.
>"They paid for all of it. All of that."
"Apparently they have a pretty big budget since they've been cruising off of an initial investment from 50 years ago. And since not many people have 5 kids, they can lavish us with a /lot/ of help and have a lot left over. That reminds me: they even give us a monthly stipend!"
>"No way."
>"Actually?"
>Your grin gets even wider when you remember your encounter with the representative.
"Can you believe they actually begged us to spend more?"
>Incognito's jaw drops.
>"More!?"
>"Hehe, yep! Anon here wanted to import a fully grown redwood to build a, and I quote, 'freaking epiclicious treehouse,' without ever thinking it through."
"Aw, come on, it was a great plan!"
>Dew shakes her head as she scoops some more fries onto both of your plates.
>"Sure, Mr. Realistic. They can totally bring in an entire giant tree into our backyard and plant it."
"We had the space."
>Incognito looks at you with a raised eyebrow.
>"Anon, you know how hard it is to transport a giant tree? And how would you even build a treehouse on that thing?"
>You crunch on a bundle of ketchup dipped fries.
"Green and Fresh could fly things up there and hammer in a platform, then drop some rope down. That way I could get up there and start expanding from the base. Plus, Morning and Nameless would have joined in."
>Ward scoffs at your completely solid and awesome plan.
>Dew rolls her eyes.
>>
>>42969679
>"More liked forced in."
>You grin.
"You know it."
>Incog looks at you as if you lost it (which you never have, by the way).
>"There could be utility lines back there! What if you hit a sewer line?"
>The situation plays through your head.
>Blown sewer, stinking backyard and house...
>You look down to your Dew's blue eyes, which look back up to you.
>Yeah, it could happen.
"Then I guess I'll have to deal with a very, /very/ angry blue ball of cuteness."
>Queue the elbow.
>You laugh, holding Dewy tighter as she giggles.
>"You got that right, buster!"
>Ward's eyebrow raises.
>"On that note, how do you take care of that house? I know we come to visit every now and then, but we never had time to talk about how you do everything."
>"Pfffft, yeah. Remember last week?"
>"Don't tell me about it."
"How long did it take for you to get that out of your mane? Mellow was crying during the two hours I was washing it out."
>"Three. What were they doing above the dinner table with the piñata bat?"
>You shrug.
"Apparently they raided the party supply closet and were trying to stack and smack red solo cups. Gale had the bright idea of tossing it. You know the rest."
>Dew shakes her head.
>"Those two are always causing a ruckus. They've got too much energy."
>"It /was/ pretty funny though."
>Incog receives two deadpan stares.
>"What?"
>You take a bite into a benedictine sandwich.
>He's not wrong though, it was pretty funny with how unamused the mares and fillies were.
>And you might've had to clean Dew's mane when she saw you laughing.
>And then Mellow's mane while Dew dealt with the rest of them.
>And the entire dining room.
>You could at least enlist the two troublemakers to help you (see: Legal Child Labor).
>Ward stops the eye daggers enough to speak again.
>"And just how do you deal with something magically coming up every second?"
>"We just do, I suppose. We're used to it at this rate, anyhow."
>Dew laughs.
>"It's not like it takes up all of our time! Those little things pile up!"
"They /really/ do."
>"Well, in any case, we do try to do everything ourselves because the kids are, well, kids after all. They need to get the most out of their childhood. Buuuuut, it does get a little hectic with all the meals, transportation, and shopping, not counting groceries. Especially during the holidaaaaays!"
>The absolute whirlwind of holiday shopping blasts its way through your mind.
>At least Dew and you write up a list *early* of what to buy for everyone, but the /actual/ shopping is something in of itself.
>You let out a groan.
"Don't remind me of Hearth's Warming."
>"Hehe, you should've seen Anon last year! With the out of control blizzard that month, he was practically crying when we had to cram all the shopping into a week!"
>>
>>42969681
"I was not!"
>"Seems believable to me."
>You stare daggers into a grinning Incog.
>This guy is aiming to be the antagonist today.
"Not you too."
>"Anyways! I have some of the kids help, though they mostly volunteer — for me, at least — especially Unnamed. He's going to be a chef one day, I'll tell you that! They also do most of their own laundry-"
"With the help of our four washers and dryers."
>"-so that's a lot off our plate. Oh, and of course they have to keep their own rooms tidy (with the exception of Morning, she's getting lazy!) So it's pretty much up to *me* to do lunch, cleaning, groceries, and shopping."
"Hey what, this is a team effort! I help with all of those."
>She baps you with a hoof.
>"And Anon helps a little, from time to time since he's busy with work."
>"Doesn't Anon work from home?"
>You give a sly smile to Ward.
"Yeah, I do. So I do help, more than just a little."
>Dew playfully sticks her tongue at you.
>"That's because you're salaried. Did you know Anon here only works at most five hours a day? Sometimes less? For only the weekdays?"
>Incognito's eyes widen.
>"Five hours?"
>Ward is indifferent as she eats another tea sandwich.
>"Dash Ahnyon. Lahzy."
>"Anon, 'I don't wanna do that' Anon. That Anon is this? Who are you? What did you do to our Anon?"
>You absently rub Dew a little as you answer.
"Still here, Incog. Guess having a few kids really did a number on me. Pretty worth it though."
>"Mmmm! Agreed!"
>"Psssh, a few is an understatement."
"Okay okay, a lot of kids, but I never really aimed for anything until Morning was born. That's what got me."
>Incog shrugs.
>"Guess I can say the same for me, too. Can't say the same for Ward, though."
"That's expected."
>"Mm hm."
>Ward doesn't care as she sips on more tea.
>"So, you've got the home front covered. How about out of it?"
>Incog pipes up.
>"Did you guys even see 'The Sky and the Earth?' Our kids loved it. Ward too."
>"Of course we saw it! It's not like it's one of the best movies out there! We /had/ to see it when they first released *that* trailer."
"It was pretty good."
>Dew lays back on your chest with daydream eyes.
>You, obviously, need to cuddle that more.
>"Oh, more than good, it was amazing! It was so beautiful..."
>Dew cried, obviously. Like most of the theater.
>That's Chéri Bright for you. Rarely produces anything, but when she does, she does it to the absolute nines.
>Also you *definitely* did not cry.
>You do smirk at the memory of /when/ you saw it, though. That is something you're proud of.

"Opening night tickets, too."
>"Get out."
>"HOW? HOW???"
"Pulled a few strings here and there-"
>You did the bounties your boss had and made a little extra dough.
"-talked to a few people-"
>Then paid an eye watering price for the 17 tickets (both yours and Dew's parents went). Not to mention all the concession food.
"-knew a guy-"
>So worth it.
"-and got the tickets."
>Ward immediately calls you out.
>"Sure, Anon. Keep your secrets. No one can get that many opening tickets, unless they paid a lot."
>Dew smiles at you.
>"She got you there, Anon. That's exactly what he did!
>She swoons.
>"Best part was, he kept it a secret! Ooooh, what a surprise!"
>Like you said, so worth it.
>"What, so do you all take over a row or something?"
"Nah, we were sitting like a rectangle. Both of our parents were there, so we could have half of us sit on one row and the other half in front. No way am I shelling out that much money and not getting the best seats."
>Though, for Chéri Bright's movies you can sit anywhere — including the very front seats — and be happy.
>"Both of your parents too? That's an expensive movie night, I can't even imagine how much you pay at a restaurant."
"Don't get me on that, too. We have to reserve seats a week in advance and deal with the kids who have a little bit too much fun in public."
>"They're so behaved at home, but the moment we go out it's like their wings really unfurl! And we can't even go to those cute corner restaurants on Windroller Avenue..."
>Those ones definitely do not have enough seats for all of you to fit in.
>As you go for a a hay sandwich, you check the time.
>The hairs on your body stand on their ends.
"Shoot! We're going to be late picking up the kids!"
>"Oh no!"
>You and Dew both get up, starting for the door.
>"It-was-nice-catching-up-with-you-guys-bye!"
>>
>>42969686
>...
>You and Ward watch as the two hurry out the door.
>Dew snuck the rest of the mini-BLT sandwiches into her purse while saying her goodbyes.
"Welp. It was nice while it lasted."
>"Yeah..."
>Knocking back the rest of your lemonade, you speak.
"All it took was three months of constant nagging and offering to pay for lunch to get those two out with us for..."
>You check the time on your phone and sigh.
"...40 minutes. And that's the first time in ten years. I kind of miss only the four of us going out together, it was fun. I was expecting we would have less time with kids, but I didn't expect this."
>"Mm hm..."
"Jeez. I'm surprised that house is that organized. Remember when we had Honor? The house was a complete mess and those nights were awfully long, heh."
>You softly slap your head.
"Shoot, we should've asked them if we could make time later! It would've been easier to do this in person without the kids."
>Your wife is still looking at where the two left, a faraway look on her face.
>You wrap your arm around her and pull her close, her body melting at your touch as she leans her head on your chest, letting out a dreamy sigh.
"Equestria to the cutest pony in the world. Anyone there?"
>She remains against you in silence for a moment before she speaks.
>"Say, dear..."
>Ward snuggles up closer to you, putting her forelegs around your torso, and looks up into your eyes with a small smile.
>Oh no.
>"Didn't you say you were up for promotion soon?"
"Uhm... yes."
>The small smile becomes /that/ smile and she hugs you a little tighter.
>"Soooo..."
>She pushes herself up close, her breath hot on your ear.
>"What about a fourth? I would love another filly... and maybe another if the Department is oh so willing..."

Neat one. I'm not quite sure if that's set in Equestria or on Earth though. Most of the time it sounds like the former but the mention of things like cars hint in the other direction.

This universe takes place in Equestria a hundred or so years after the Bureau of Love's (evolved into the Department of Love) last match, where the marriage between the original men and mares, known as the Matched, led to either boy sons or filly daughters who have omnivorous diets. Basically, everyone has canines. The technology level is around the early 2010s because Equestria didn't stagnate with the introduction of man; some of that tech bled through but at a very, very slow rate as they spent a long time figuring out how to introduce cars, phones, and what nots without any pollution.

Aaaaand that's all I have written for the background.

Figured this thread would enjoy a green like this, so I'll cross post it here.

>It’s winter in Equestria.
>And holy shit are you freezing.
>You unfortunately underestimated how cold the ponies make it here.
>The good news is that the farm has a fair bit fewer chores to do in the winter.
>The bad news is you’re spending most of your spare time huddled either in bed or on the couch with the biggest, heaviest blanket you could find.
>It’s taking having all your clothes on and a blanket wrapped around you just to keep warm.
>Goddamn you miss air conditioning.
>You already went to see Rarity about making you some winter clothes, but that’s going to take at least a week before she’s finished.
>Now you’re kicking yourself for not getting that done ahead of time.
>You really aren’t looking forward to braving that walk to and from town again.
>At least your little cocoon of warmth is surprisingly comfy.
>You’re completely wrapped up in the blanket, even your head is tucked within it.
>You guess it isn’t so bad, all things considered.
>Still, you’re eager to be able to do things outside the farmhouse again.
>Your meditations are interrupted by the front door suddenly opening.
>Luckily you’re far enough away that the wave of cold air that’s surely blasting in right now is unable to penetrate the heavy woolen layers that make up the walls of your lair.
>And the door thankfully closes again just as quickly as it had opened.
>A set of hooves comes clopping up to your sanctuary on the couch.
>”How ya holdin’ up sug?”
>You peak your eyes out from your fortress of wool.
“Snow Miser ain’t reaching my ass in here.
>Applejack chuckles, looking at your antics with a fond smile.
>”At least y’all are managing alright.”
>She sits herself down next to you.
>”I’m sorry sugarcube, I should’a taken you to Rarity for some nice ‘n warm clothes before winter started.”
>You stick your hand out from the blanket and pet her neck.
“It’s alright, I’m the one who should have thought of it anyway.”
>You sigh as you lean against her.
“Guess I was just used to the mild winters we always had back where I’m from, I didn’t really consider the fact I might need some winter clothes.”
>>
>>42988837
>”Still, wish I thought of it. I was so preoccupied with makin’ sure we had enough food stored up that it totally slipped my mind how you ain’t got a coat that grows out.”
>Finding out the ponies had to actually stock up for winter gave you some whiplash when you first heard it.
>Yea, lots of stuff still done the old fashion way around here.
>Thankfully, AJ had the foresight to plant a bunch of extra vegetables in the garden months ago.
>Plus she had plenty of money for some extra meat thanks to the increased cider sales this year.
>Thank God you have a pony family to stay with, you would have actually starved if you were on your own
“Don’t worry about it, it’s just a few more days of being huddled under blankets and I can start going outside like a normal person again.”
>”Is it cozy in there?”
>You nod your head, though she probably can’t see it.
“More than you’d probably expect, yea.
>She’s silent for a moment before leaning down to you.
>”I got an idea. Open up that blanket.”
>Fabric in hand, you extend your arm out in the most movie Count Dracula manner that you can.
>With your bastion of warmth and comfort now open, Applejack wasted no time in shuffling her way inside.
>She settles down in your lap, putting her hooves around you, pulling you close and setting her head on your shoulder.
>Each exhale of her breath washes over your ear, warming the chilled flesh.
>”There. Figure I can just keep you warm myself ‘til Rarity finishes up those new clothes for you.”
>You let your hands sink into her thick coat.
>God they get so pleasantly fluffy in the winter.
“I’m not opposed to that.”
>She hums happily.
>”I figured you wouldn’t.”
>>
>>42988839
>You sit intertwined, basking in each others warmth.
>It’s definitely warmer than sitting in here by yourself was.
>Being so close to Applejack always makes you feel warm inside already anyway.
>After a while, Applejack pokes the side of your face with her muzzle.
>”So – what kinda songs do your folks listen to this time of year?
>Popular winter songs?
>Well Hearthswarming is already passed, so a Christmas song wouldn’t be very topical.
>What other kind of songs do people listen to in winter?
>As you go through the mental list, you suddenly think up one which might be perfect for the situation.
“Well, there’s one that could be pretty fitting.”
>AJ’s ears swivel in curiosity.
>”Let’s hear it then.”
>You always get a little self conscious singing around AJ, even if she says you sing fine.
>Still, your desire to not disappoint her outweighs your nervousness.
>You take a deep breath and prepare your best crooner voice.

184.1

>Using the proxy whilst you are out of the simulation does not cause any real problems for you and your friends.
>You maintain your daily routines as usual, and whenever the opportunity presents itself, you spend some time with the others as yourself.
>The proxy is either idling or in the process of following a simple command during these times, depending on the current situation.
>And given that you can quickly assume and slip out of the role of your proxy within minutes, it is easy for you to plan your daily schedules ahead with a fair degree of flexibility.
>Even when the initial sensory confusion after every "swap" remains somewhat inconvenient, no matter what you do.
>Still, in comparison to what you gain, it is a small side effect to deal with.
>In the following weeks, you get a lot of opportunities to practice, as you generally switch your roles multiple times a day.
>So you learn relatively quickly how you can integrate these changes into all of your routines in such a manner that it almost becomes a seamless affair.
>Indeed, Firefly sometimes jokingly refers to the swap as you changing your clothes now.
>And whilst this image is not fully accurate from a technical perspective, she nevertheless has a certain point.
>After all, it really is about as simple as exchanging one set of clothing for another.
>You put on a visor, focus on your proxy, and the system establishes the connection for you in a matter of seconds.
>Likewise, you merely have to take said visor off to cut the link and, quite literally, come to your senses afterwards.
>Simple as that, and no further strings attached.
>Another month, and one further confirmed pregnancy in the household later, you have well and truly adapted to your new way of life.
>And so you clamber out of the cellar once more, shortly after a certain Unicorn stallion has left the house.
>You go to the living room where the others and your proxy are sitting in a circle.
>With a calm composure which borders on routine, you approach #deca.mare, wait for her to shift a little bit on her seat cushion, and sit down right next to her.
>And as Fine Point has predicted, the foal is indeed showing signs of growth.
>The first faint visible signs included.
>Up to this point, it is only a small affair for #deca.mare's daily schedule, as the condition does not physically refrain her yet.
>So it is no challenge for her to share the cushion with you.
>Then, once you have taken your seat, you perform your usual ritual and gently press your head against #deca.mare's side.
>#deca.mare chuckles.
>"And, Anon? What do you hear today?"
>You listen for another couple of seconds before you reply.
"Good tidings. As always."
>#deca.mare inhales.
>"That is reassuring to hear. And I assume... you prefer to keep listening for a while... again."
>>
>>42998363
>You nod slowly in your current pose, effectively rubbing your cheek and ear against her coat.
"Of course. As long as it doesn't cause any problems."
>#deca.mare chuckles once more.
>You have brought this point up several times already, and the answer is the same as always.
>"It does not. A foal is vulnerable, but still not that vulnerable."
>So your head stays where it is.
>You are effectively using #deca.mare's side as a cushion, yet you make sure not to apply any real pressure on her.
>Of course, your head alone would not be able to apply any notable pressure to begin with, as #deca.mare points out repeatedly, but you nevertheless feel the urge to make sure every single time.
>For once, it seems as if the roles are reversed when it comes to safety and precaution.
>But #deca.mare does not mind in the slightest.
>She simply gives you the same answer over and over.
>With a genuine and patient smile on her face.
>As the two of you sit together, Sky Squall and Firefly witness the scene with casual, albeit clear curiosity.
>Both of them know fairly well what is going through your minds, given that they have been in this very same situation several times in the past.
>Not to mention right now as well.
>However, watching how you live through the same experience is certainly a bit of a novelty.
>So you can understand why they are interested in observing you.
>And as far as you are concerned, you have no problem with that whatsoever.
>On the contrary, their attitude is even somewhat amusing in your eyes.
>After a while, between five or ten minutes or so, Firefly speaks up.
>"Say, have you already decided on a name?"
>#deca.mare and you exchange glances before you respond.
"Not yet. We agreed it shouldn't be just Harmony, but we haven't really thought about any names in particular."
>Firefly grins.
>"Well, you should do that soon. It doesn't feel like it now, but these months pass quickly. And before you know it, the day is almost there and you still haven't found the right name for your foal."
>You blink.
"Did that happen to you?"
>The Pegasus mare inhales faintly.
>"Almost."
>Then she laughs heartily.
>"It's silly in hindsight, but we had many long discussions about it back then. It was... a serious matter."
>Of course it was.
>After all, it is a decision which will affect one pony for a life time.
>You take a breath.
"We'll keep that in mind. Thanks."
>Another thought crosses your mind as you say that.
>You look at #deca.mare.
"You know, it might help if we knew what it is going to be."
>Or rather, if you knew what Harmony is going to be, as #deca.mare is bound to know already.
>For better or worse.
>She smiles.
>"You are right, Anon. It would help. But it would also... ruin the surprise. Do you really want to know so soon?"
>A part of you wants to say yes, but an equally large part of you disagrees at the same time.
>>
>>42998365
>You open your mouth for a reply, yet you do not utter a single word due to this indecision.
>And #deca.mare interprets your reaction as a sign to maintain the status quo as it is.
>You go on after a few seconds.
"Okay. In this case we'll have to come up with several potential names. One for every outcome."
>You blink.
"It wouldn't make much sense to, for instance, give an Earth pony a name that's related to flight, you know?"
>Well, it is technically not impossible, but it would be very unusual to say the least.
>Also, this is a point which was never a thing for Firefly and Sky Squall to consider, given that they are Pegasi of the first generation.
>They could always count on their foals having wings.
>For them, it was only ever a question of whether the foal will be a colt or a filly.
>And thanks to Equestrian naming conventions, the sex of the pony usually does not affect the choice of a name in most cases.
>#deca.mare nudges your side.
>"Then we will do that. It is always wise to have an option for every... eventuality."
>The way she stresses the last word is very pronounced.
>Almost oddly so, even.
>Does she want to tease you with her knowledge?
>Probably.
>At least a little bit.
>You take a deep breath and touch #deca.mare's barrel with a hand before you address the foal.
"So... you're still a bundle of surprises, Harmony. At least... to most of us."
>A pause.
"Wings or not and colt or filly aside, I wonder what you'll look like. The jury is still out on that too."
>Sky Squall chimes in shortly thereafter.
>"Speaking from personal experience, You can make some educated guesses."
>He points at #deca.mare and your proxy in turn.
>#deca.mare shakes her head.
>"Not in this case, Sky. The circumstances are a little bit different."
>The stallion tilts his head.
"How so?"
>You go on.
"Because we've slightly altered the genotype of the proxy. The gametes the body produces bear some of my genetic material."
>You pause.
"Well, sort of. The genes are still one hundred percent pony, but the foal can have some of my secondary characteristics too."
>Sky Squall blinks.
>"Secondary?"
>You nod.
"Yeah. Hair and eye colours in particular. Nothing anatomical."
>You grin.
"Don't worry. Harmony won't have ten hooves or something."
>Sky Squall hesitates before he responds.
>"That's a relief to hear. The image is... disturbing."
>A pause.
>"No offence."
>You laugh.
"None taken."
>You take a breath.
"But anyway. I think we'll manage to find two names in eight months. That shouldn't be too hard."
>#deca.mare nods slowly.
>"Agreed."
>A pause.
>"We have some time to talk later on the fields today. A perfect moment to start, if you ask me."
>It takes you a second to remember what #deca.mare means.
>Then it dawns on you.
>>
>>42998367
>The four of you have agreed to help the Grain family on their fields today.
>Not with weather support or other related Pegasus services, however.
>No, you are going to help them with their own usual plant work.
>And the conditions for it could not be better.
>After all, the onset of summer is upon you.
>The days are warm and bright, and nature is in full swing.
>Under these conditions, the work will almost feel like a vacation for sure.
"Oh, right."
>You turn your head to look out of the window and observe the late spring scene.
"That sounds good to me."
>You take a breath.
"Before we head out though, how about a stroll around the house? I mean before I wear my proxy crown."
>You pause.
"The day is too good to spend the entirety of it sitting in the house."
>In regard to your actual body, at least, given that you will sit a lot whilst you will use the proxy to work with the others.
>#deca.mare nods.
>"A lovely idea."
>She takes a breath.
>"Shall we then?"
>You nod and rise slowly.
"Sure."
>You turn to Firefly and Sky Squall.
"We'll be out for a while. Do you want to join us?"
>Sky Squall shakes his head and smiles.
>"No, that moment is yours. And yours alone."
>Firefly agrees with a nod.
"Okay. See you later."
>Sky Squall salutes with a forelimb as #deca.mare and you are about to leave the room.
>However, just a second before the two of you reach the corridor, #deca.mare suddenly stops.
>This in itself is not necessarily a surprise.
>But the puzzled expression on her face is a different matter.
>Something completely unexpected must have happened, and it caught her by surprise.
>#deca.mare mutters a single sound, addressing nobody in particular.
>"Oh."
>Well, regardless of the reason for her reaction, you feel like you should be in the know.
>So you act as if #deca.mare addressed you personally and speak up.
"#deca? What's going on?"
>She blinks and hesitates for a second.
>Then she responds.
>"I... just received a request."
>Alright, this is a start.
"A request? What kind of request?"
>You pause.
"And while we're at it, by whom?"
>#deca.mare takes a deep breath.
>"Discord."
>Another pause.
>"He wants to see you. You alone."
>Unexpected indeed.
>You do not know what to say.
>So Firefly does it for you.
>"But why?"
>#deca.mare goes on.
>"He did not say why. Only that he wants to talk to you, face to face. And that it is urgent."
>You look at her.
"You mean right now?"
>She nods.
>You do not immediately grasp what #deca.mare is alluding to between the lines.
>Until it hits you.
"Face to face... you mean in the simulation?"
>#deca.mare nods a second time.
"That's... odd."
>Another nod.
>Sky Squall snarls audibly.
>"A load of nonsense, that's what it is!"
>The stallion stands up and approaches the two of you.
>"He's pretending, Anon. And badly at that. If something he had to say would be oh so important, he could inform any of us right now."
>Sky Squall is right.
>>
>>42998371
>Discord could send a message to virtually all of you, and within the fraction of a second on top of that.
>Granted, you would be the only exception as long as you are not linked to #deca.mare and the system, but that is not really a hurdle for him.
>For he would be able to relay the information to your friends so that they could inform you in turn.
>As he has proven right now.
>So whatever it is that Discord is planning, it must be something else.
"Yeah, it's a pretext."
>You look at #deca.mare.
"And the timing can't be a coincidence either. Discord does that on purpose."
>You inhale.
"But something must be up. He wouldn't call me like that just to ruin our moment."
>A pause.
"It sure is a funny bonus to him though. That's pretty clear."
>Sky Squall grumbles.
>"I don't believe him. Not one bit."
>Well, considering Sky Squall's previous experiences with Discord, you can fully understand why.
>And if you are honest, a part of you has some doubts too.
>Nevertheless, you are, at least in a way, responsible for Discord, and you cannot simply ignore him.
"Discord is definitely brewing something, Sky. But I should go anyway."
>Sky Squall sighs.
>"I see why you think that way. But... I can't say that I like it. Be careful, Anon. I don't want to end up in ropes again."
>You nod.
"Right. I could have done without that too."
>The stallion takes a breath.
>"We should tag along, all of us this time. Regardless of what that coiled snake says."
>But you shake your head.
"No. Let him have his private little conversation if he desires it that much."
>You inhale.
"Trust me, I'll agree to nothing. And of course I'll tell you everything afterwards."
>Firefly chimes in.
>"Discord must know that too."
>You nod.
"Almost certainly."
>The Pegasus mare tilts her head.
>"But what is the point of having that private discussion with you to begin with? That doesn't make any sense."
>You grin.
"Right. It doesn't. And that's exactly why he does it."
>Firefly rolls her eyes.
>"He's a real pain in the flanks."
>You nod.
"Right, he can be. But I wouldn't let him hear that if I were you."
>Then you smile wryly.
"Discord would see that as an encouragement to double down."
>She does not answer outright, but she agrees eventually.
>"I suppose he would. As Sky said, be careful, Anon."
>You nod.
"I will."
>You turn to Sky Squall and bump one of his forehooves with your fist.
>The stallion speaks up.
>"Good luck, rookie. Watch your back."
>You respond with a reassuring smile.
"Thanks. See you later, Sky."
>You turn to #deca.mare.
"Let's go."
>She nods once.
>"Yes, Anon."
>With that said, #deca.mare and you leave the room and enter the cellar.
>Where you prepare yourself as usual and climb into the machine as soon as you are ready.
>>
>>42998374
>Once you are in position, #deca.mare takes over.
>She walks up to the pod and observes the machine as she initialises the process.
>The cryo unit emits several mechanical sounds before the sequence begins.
>And #deca.mare uses the time to give you a long kiss.
>Then she takes a step back, and the transparent lid starts to move slowly.
>You address her once more, shortly before the unit seals itself.
"Don't give a green light to anything that Discord proposes this time. Whatever it is."
>#deca.mare does not have the time to answer verbally, as the lid closes before she can say a word.
>So she looks you in the eyes through the canopy and nods instead.
>And now knowing that this last point is taken care of as well, you close your eyes and try to relax whilst the machine does its thing.

It's nice to see bonding time and Anon fretting a bit over his now pregnant wife. Always a fan of fluff like that. He should just be cautious of coming up with too many names, though, otherwise she might try to use them all.
And it'll be interesting to see what sort of shenanigans will be in mind for the next entry.

Glad that you liked it.
>He should just be cautious of coming up with too many names, though
Well, something tells me that he probably won't have too many ideas. Because a character's creativity always depends on the writer. And coming up with suitable names is an ongoing challenge for me.
>otherwise she might try to use them all.
But that would admittedly be pretty funny in some situations.

The mare knows where the anon is because she knows where the anon isnt.
Also running is futile

Who would deny their wife foalmaking that many times?

Maybe an Anon who doesn't feel ready for foals yet. Doesn't make the idea of denial any better though.
