Really hope I didn't fuck anything during the builds.
I consider this a beta test, which is why I won't display it on the website yet. I fixed some bugs recently, and I would have pushed the release back some days to make sure nothing else was broken and test more thoroughly, but I didn't want to blueball you more, so here it is. It should be stable enough to not completely break during playthroughs, or at least I hope so. I recently switched to Linux, so that was the main version I tested.
I wouldn't consider this a full Ren'Py replacement in this current state, but I will reserve the next week to fix all bugs reported so it can be. Will probably take a rest in the next hours though. I hope that at least anons will see the potential of changing engine.
I believe the general has a nice mix of VN and non-VN (Silly, Cards, Logs) content right now, but I know this release will push the next few days more in a VN direction, with bug reports and such, and I know some anons don't care about it at all and are only here for the Silly aspects of things. If it really becomes too much, I will consider making a new thread only for the VN.
With that in mind, I will first list all the novelties compared to the Ren'Py version, then what I still need to add after that.
>1) CUSTOM DATA
The folder data contains all the vectors, icons, schedules, and such for the game. They have the same format as before, so if you have custom locations in Ren'Py or custom characters you didn't share with the general (Naughty Anon), you can just copy-paste them inside data/characters/custom or data/locations/custom and it will work.

Different changes. First, there is prefill for OpenRouter or Gemini, for instance. So with those, you just need to enter your API key and you're good.
Second, you don't need to add the /chat/completions part anymore; entering the URL like you do in Silly by stopping at /v1 or before that is enough.
Third, you don't need to type the model manually. By clicking on 'Refresh', it will fetch the list automatically.
Keep debug mode disabled.
>3) COMMUNITY CHARACTERS
You can download custom characters directly from the game. They will be downloaded inside the data folder, and you can add sprites or delete them like you did in the Ren'Py version.

>5) PROMPTS EDITOR
You can directly modify the different prompts here. It's really detailed, and you can modify the prompt for scene generation, Q&A, the RPG MODE (will talk about it below), etc. The default prompts are basic, so don't hesitate to modify and play with this. Ask for more proactivity, to respect the character or location switching rules more, add your NSFW lines, for 1 and 20 to really matter and produce wild results for RPG MODE, etc. You can reset everything to default if you fuck up.

I once played as a sailor trying to get to China from the 1700's who got sucked into a Typhoon and ended up in Equestria. My character was racist, obsessed with trading tea and spices, and had very traditional views of punishment (thinks Applejack and Rarity should whip Applebloom and Sweetie Belle).

I found a bug that's *really* annoying but I think is pretty easy to fix
when ur in dialogue and you try to adjust the UI, scrolling moves the dialogue through the window and somehow or another makes the window unclosable.
its like you can't even click the UI settings window after doing this.

Place Equestria in the Jericho Reach near the Hadex Anomaly. Warzone on three fronts, and Hadex messes with reality at the best of times.

Every single AI model I've used writes Luna drastically differently. I didn't like GLM for story, I felt it couldn't ever come up with stuff on its own, but it by far had my favorite Luna. GLM Luna would shout and be autistic and playful. GPT Luna is kinda a bitch who gets mad at hijinks while Gemini Luna is pretty chill

I will look into it, but between the prompts varying depending on scene or Q&A, the dynamic call for characters or locations, the change of date in the calendar, RPG mode and such, I would need to have a mode where everything but the history is set at the bottom and enough depth to keep everything variable out of it.

I was just asking, Silly has me locked down, so if it's just me and everyone else is on the proxy, then please don't feel obliged to add it. But if you ever have trouble setting up caching I'll be glad to help.
And as for all the prompts, remember that even if it's only two cache hit prompts in 5min, that's already saved money. But desu even a quick fix that forces history older than depth4 (or whatever would be cachepoint) to the top should save people top dollar. And as far as I'm concerned that's good even when proxies are used so providers see less costs leading to investigation, so the sources live longer.

There is nothing prebuilt inside the VN. You need to come with your own source, be it OpenRouter, Deepseek or some third party. Exactly like SillyTavern.

Claude doesn't support logit bias; it does nothing. Which was always a shame.
You could try to use regex on it and replace it with something else, but it's not always adapted.
If you have prefill, larp as him and make it say that he will not use that.
Else I dunno, maybe put XML like <ForbiddenWords> with a line telling it not to use that at the top of your preset and put a line at the bottom of it, after history, telling it to always respect <ForbiddenWords> and to never forget it.

It's really up to taste, but I think GPT & Grok have generally been abandoned around here for "dry" or "flat" writing.
Nowadays, most folks seem to use either the latest Claude Sonnet, or Gemini Pro. If you can get your hands on/afford Opus, even better. Or if you're a cheap bastard, there's the chink models: Deepseek, Kimi, & GLM. Usually not as smart but considered "good enough" for those on a budget.
Depending on what you mean by "safe" I might suggest Gemini or Kimi. Both tend to be at least a little better about avoiding {{user}} bias.

I haven't done any experiments, but just going by feel the recall is insane. Longform is all I do, my last 5 stories all went over 1k messages, 2 of them over 2k. I used to summarize when I felt the IQ go down too much from the context being too big. As I mostly play director for group scenarios it's easy to see, because it starts having trouble keeping characters separated, be it behavior or what they know/did. Lots of continuity errors.
With sonnet 4.5 and earlier that meant summarizing at 30k token at the absolute latest, with performance already degrading fast at 20k.
Opus 4.5 was a bit better, letting me got to 30-40k. It was also a lot nicer on summarizing the whole 100k+ token story.
Opus 4.6 has me summarize at 80-100k token, and that is mostly because it just starts costing too much money. It's also starting to make more continuity mistakes, but I'd say it's better at 100k token, than sonnet 4.5 was at 30k.
And that 100k token story I'm currently doing is a messenger app format, with multiple threads active at the same time, so arguable even worse than a normal prose format story. It's also pretty good at coding me the frontend I'm using for this messenger app story.

This is my favorite preset I've ever found. Latest update includes a feature called "auto-lore". Extension and instructions in preset work together to automatically populate a lore book full of info so you don't have to keep stopping and pausing and copying and pasting into yours. I feel like it has improved cohesion in the story so that when we get to the ~100k tokens of context range it's a little less confused, but it still does get pretty confused. Experimenting with cranking the context to max until it gets a filled out lorebook and then shrinking it down to 20k for cohesion.

A few suggetions. Readding the autosave feature that saved after every input, a way to rescale the text itself, tweaking the text speed, and a way to edit and add in your own maps or world maps. Being able to tweak the maps especially would be appreciated.
I'm not sure if it's just me but when I boot up the VN, the audio is super loud for a split second and then it remembers to turn back down.
Also something that personally annoyed me, when you go to the chat history, it doesn't show the full passage, and when I clicked on it, it brought me to the moment the pony said it, but then it wiped my input that I was typing up. Okay, I have done some further testing and I can now conclude that the only locations the custom start menu seems to recognize are Ponyville locations.
I started testing with a simple prompt
"I suddenly appear at/in (location) Princess Celestia runs over to say hi."
With this prompt I could get every Ponyville location I tested (I didn't test them all) to load. I even tried some of the ones off the beaten path, like the bowling alley, the tea shop, or the lake.
I could not get a single Canterlot location to load in custom start. I tried The castle guest room, the throne room, both of the princess' chambers, Donut Joe's shop, and the shopping alley, but could not get any of the locations to load. They all start in a black void.
I decided to open the locations.json files to see if there was anything wonky. I might not be a coder, but I'm a world class noticer. I notice things like a motherfucker.
I noticed that many of the Canterlot locations do not have an id field. I figured this might be the issue until I opened some of the Ponyville locations and noticed that places like the like did not have an id field either. To make things more confusing, the castle guest room DOES have an id field, but it also does not load.
With my pattern recognition monke brain defeated, I can only conclude that the Canterlot folder is haunted. If anyone else can get even a single Canterlot location to load in the opening scene in a quick start, do let me know. Remember, it has to be the opening scene. I'll submit to the site that Canterlot locations do not appear to load in a custom start opening.
I would normally not be this autistic about this but for the fact that I have a slight longshot suspicion that the opening scene not occurring in a real place seems to make them forget most if not all of it in subsequent scenes.

Checked this, and I could reproduce it right now. Apparently, this happens only if you save during the Twilight or Spike dialogue before that or during the Luna dream scene itself, then load.
I will check to correct that. It's only during Story mode too. Sandbox Dream realm scenes are safe.

Late response but desu I love having it all in this thread. It's fun as fuck seeing both logs. I use both Silly and EAI and desu I just see them both as AI tools that can be used to simulate going to Equestria. If another piece of software was made to do the same thing, it'd belong here as well.

The History button is still a bit fucky because it's supposed to be used to return directly to an AI dialogue that was said in the same scene/Q&A session.

Menu -> Prompt Editor, then you can change the prompts in Q&A Conversation and Scene System to ask for long outputs or a specific number of lines if you want. You can also export the prompts from Ren'Py and read them to see if there is something that could have introduced that between the two.
Q&A is for the back and forth, and Scene is for the original scene once you enter a location.

I will say, I was sad about Trixie's Good Side not being in anymore until I realized I just got the other song in the music mix system. More music variety is something I've wanted for a while here, makes it feel way more alive. The fact you put in Crepuscularity for the Golden Oak Library made me so happy.
The Trixie's Good Side instrumental was one of the first "holy shit" moments I had with the game, because that older music was like more or less the defacto sound of Equestria and these characters back in the olden days of the fandom. Felt like I was actually in the world I dreamed of all those years ago for the first time and I got a little emotional. Old fandom music is just pure fucking good vibes in this game and bless you for putting in more of it. You could add even more and I'd be happy, but, also, maybe if music is really big, you could have a lightweight version with just the basic tracks from the original version and then a separate music file download to add on that's all pre-sorted to be for each area.

I always try to go fandom instrumental first, then only other games or source music when I don't find anything that really fits. And yeah, stumbling on an old one you hadn't listened to in a while always incites really powerful nostalgia feelings for me.
For this release, I wanted to diversify a bit, because even if some tracks are really, really good, listening to them too much can always be a problem.
It's easy for the players to add their own music, and it will be added automatically to the game without going into the code, but IMO there is also something in having default choices you didn't yourself come up with.
Ideally, there would be a music downloader too so anons can share what they have. Will look into that.

I'm being a bit lazy with the beta releases, but ideally they should be separated between the data folder that isn't touched that much for the core one and the executable files, with only the executable files being changed for each update.
I just don't want to deal with the posts asking why characters or locations don't appear because someone only downloaded the second part for now.

If you downloaded a music pack it'd all be pre-sorted into the folders and you'd just drag and drop it on top of your install is what I was thinking. Oh yeah, playing on both Deepseek 3.2 and GLM-5, if I was running in manual mode for a while and then swapped to dynamic, it'd like never ever bring in new characters. If I bullied it with OoC prompting to try introducing a pony it would sometimes rarely do that, but at that point you could just be playing manual mode. I'll have to experiment with that more. I was using an old Ren'Py save where I was just strolling around Ponyville with Pinkie for a bit, was playing on dynamic and I hadn't seen any area transitions or anything yet. Gonna have to spend more time with it and see what it does.

Prompts for it are also accessible and easily modifiable in the Prompt Editor menu, so you can try to modify them to your taste.
I know I like to add in the Q&A one to be really proactive and dynamic with location and character switching, and I also put a recap of the rules here. I have that + added lines to say to take critical misses and successes for the RPG mode dice rolls seriously and go wild with them.

as for summaries, from personal experience the best chats ive had were the ones where the AI took a bit to settle in so to speak. fully go through its usual start of chat -isms and cycle through the defs. not sure if makes sense.
point is, when i use summaries it feels like going back to that start of chat robotic mode and just slapping in the defs two lines about char and user having history together or whatever.

I've had some success with this, memory issues do persist but this makes it easier to remind the model what it should know.
Using this I've cranked my context up to literally the maximum and been having a pretty good story.
I also have it OOC summarize itself pretty frequently, that helps it stay on track.
If you don't use your lorebook it has no "long term" memory and only "short term" so it forgets everything the moment it leaves its window. You have to fill its "brain" out for it to know things.

Opus 4.6 just works up to 80-100k. I really don'T know what anthropic did but it is crazy.
And if you summarize paste that into the beginning of context and keep the last 5k or so token worth of chat untouched. That really helps it keep the voice it has at that moment. When you've done a few k token worth you can then hide those seed-messages. Or give it a friendly nudge in [OOC:..] about you preferring X writing style from earlier in the story.

For custom locations I'd like to be able to add a json 'description' property that always sends the long description to the AI context while you're currently at that location. It would be fun to see how the AI plays with the scene in a location fully defined for it.

For custom locations have a json array property such as 'related' that allows you to specify other location ids. E.g. in sugarcube_corner json you would list pinkie_pie_bedroom and pinkie_pie_bathroom as related. This could serve two purposes. You could have them listed in the UI when setting up a location visit, allowing you to directly visit Pinkie's bedroom in a more immersive way than just finding it in the full list of locations. More importantly these related locations can be sent in context to help AI understand what's nearby for dynamic switching. I was also thinking a second 'short_desc' property could send more detail on just related locations in context to help give the AI more of an idea of why it might spontaneously want to move there (or maybe sandbox_dialogue property would fill this purpose).
For saving, add a 'quick save' button directly under the history button. It could save the game instantly in a separate rotating pool of save slots that get overwritten after it wraps back around to slot Q1. You could also apply the same logic to autosave so you have multiple autosave slots.

Pretty much. The only exploits that last use sources from big corpos and/or aren't used for proxies. There was a source that lasted well over a year before Gytha used it with the proxy. Now it's gone. I've considered hosting something myself but I'd have to place daily limits and make the requirements of entry very high, because even my billion dollar corpo source gets their 20 million ITPM ratelimited from what I presume is "legitimate" use. Opus 3 was dumber than the current models we have, but it was one of the best models to try to adapt to your writing style with some context, and it was also one of those Claude models that was completely mindbroken by prefill and could go out of assistantslop or basic prose easily because of that.

Just force caching. Give some daily $ limit, and calculate the costs per token according to if it was cached or not. Or force x% of input token to be cached, and if that's violated you ratelimit them. Goodwill is nice, some nudging to not be lazy is better. Opus 4.6 is so fucking smart anyways that you can get away with putting any dynamic instructions at the bottom so there's no real excuse for not caching.

Sonnet or Gemini Pro, if you know how to economise your tokens. If you just want to run it without worrying about it, Deepseek and GLM are decent value picks. I'd personally lean towards Gemini. Yeah. It's a bit of a railroad with some AI Q&A and scenes/visits that work as a tutorial if you never played it and set a basic story too.
If you want to go into Sandbox mode more quickly, you can either do the Quick Start or Custom Start and tell the AI your own story.

Here. I'll just christen it "Chaggy" now.
Compared to the old one, it's got some new fun instructions and some changes to wording.
The biggest difference you'll see is the fact that all the instructions are sorted better and actually placed AFTER chat history. This is simply to allow me to change the active instructions at any time without breaking cache.
I use like 80% Claude, 20% Gemini so can't tell you how well it works with other models.

If you're still struggling get https://github.com/SillyTavern/Extension-PromptInspector so you can look at what is being sent.
And if you're still stuck after that just ask here again, preferably with preset and char attached.
Also sonnet requires at least 1024 cacheable token before it caches, opus requires at least 4096. So test with sonnet, and make sure there's enough text.

this sort of thing happens with the rest of the mane 6, pinkie with a cupcake, rarity with making clothes, rainbow with making you exercise and thoroughly disappointing her
if you'd prefer you can just do the quick start instead, it's more free-hand than the 'story mode' start

When you sleep at night, you will have another option called "Have a dream."
In this, you can, like in Custom Start, select the characters you want to dream of and tell what your dream is about.
You also have the option to keep the dream in context or not.
For instance, if you believe it's a serious dream involving Luna, then you can keep it in your story.
If you just want to have fun and fuck as much as you want inside your dream, or are afraid that the model will fuck up and start to mix dream with '''reality''', you can deselect this and it won't be remembered by the story after the dream ends.

I'm no filly diddler but what really helped me was strip all "disabled content policy" and similar wording. For me as soon as claude saw any of that it went into panic anti jailbreak mode and refused. When I stripped that out and just treated what I was asking it to do as normal it didn't object as long as there were a few thousand token of context.
Also I was about to ask why filly/loli is such a big thing around here, but then again, why do I like blonde hair? I couldn't tell you but boy do I like blonde hair.

You can add instructions in each prompt itself, like the Q&A or the Scene one, but it's also highly dependent on the model you use.
Another thing you can do is on the Title screen, Character Browser, and here you can edit the description of the characters and try to put instructions and such too.

Ironically enough I just read Pinkie's loud playing as her intentionally goofing off, and I tend to connect with her enough on being happy that it sort of brings out the calm and comfy emotionally intelligent world-loving side of her. In my recent EAI in the new version it's worked fine, but even then uhhh...
Honestly truth be told I still made a custom prompt just so she could be her little sunshiny big hearted self instead of being really high volume and only ever talking about parties and cupcakes constantly. Here, fuck it, dug it out for you. Might need a bit of tweaking still but give it a go.

It's not the price my main concern (although the caching requirement is smart and makes sense to implement) but the amount of requests. Assuming just 100 users limited to 100 requests a day that's 10000 requests from whatever account I use, the corpo WILL notice that and then it's over. For comparison in one week of using Claude Code I didn't even reach 1000 requests, and I still got four different personal projects done.

Trying to get them to run, but for some reason they are horribly slow on my system, while people with the same specs (4090, 64 GB RAM) are saying it's great. I tried kobold, it was wonky, now I'm trying llama.cpp but that's not going well either. I am terribly new to llama though so I'm still learning a lot

I posted an autisticly detailed suggestion on the scrumboy for the VN. The basic idea is that it would be cool to be able to save your custom visit setups and re-use them later or share them with other Anons. It's motivation to spend more time crafting scene setups and quick starts if you knew you could jump right back in future to try them with different models and ai advancements.

No. Anthropic said they would remove Opus from LMArena, so this part is normal. This has nothing to do with this.
Claude still works on API or using OpenRouter.
Besides, Opus6 as a whole is deactivated, GPT 5.1 too, so it seems like the provider is having problems.
