I'm building a playlist of songs that's primarily American Country, Folk, Bluegrass, Southern and Western (with a few other things mixed in) from the 1940s-70s. But I'm wanting it to also feature some tracks from outside the US, especially non-English speaking countries.
These can be American songs with familiar tunes translated into other languages, for example,

Or entirely foreign songs. I think many people with an ear for this type of music could also appreciate folk songs from other countries, particularly if they featured similar instrument arrangements. For example, the violin and string instruments used in Eastern European folk music seem like they would align with the interests of someone that enjoyed the fiddle-heavy tunes of American bluegrass. This is where things get the most subjective. Some examples I've found:

I appreciate any ideas you may have. I'm open to both songs and instrumentals.

I don't think there's any other place in the world with as similar a tradition of rural folk styles as Brazil.
You should definitely look into older Sertanejo (brazilian Country) and adjacent genres, there's a lot of stuff just like what you're looking for, but also different enough to be distinct from the american music.
Here's a classic to get you started:
