How do you record a masterpiece of an album like this and then do nothing of note after?

very common amongst 60s bands
>Love
>The Zombies
>The Small Faces
>Jefferson Airplane
>The United States of America
>13th Floor Elevators
>The Crazy World of Arthur Brown
>The Red Crayola
all of these made one album worth listening to and either fucked off of the planet or kept trying to achieve that high again to no end

The Zombies did record another album after Odessey and Oracle, but the record company decided not to release it.

Casual listeners get oneitis of the most popular album they like and never dig deep into artists discographies and other projects

Da Capo is solid, Reel to Real is ok, Vindicator is based and I'm pretty sure there's other good stuff
>>The Zombies
one hit wonder
>>The Small Faces
one of the best 60 bands, great songs throughout their career be it from the early r&b phase or the later years
>>Jefferson Airplane
meme band
>>The United States of America
true, but their other stuff is still enjoyable
>>13th Floor Elevators
2 classic albums and it comes down to personal preferences, for me it's Easter Everywhere
>>The Crazy World of Arthur Brown
meme band with 1 meme song
>>The Red Crayola
they made one of the all time great 60s albums so who cares

>an even shittier beach boys
they sucked and they were semi famous on the strength of 1 (one) song only, they rightly disappeared until they became Time Life 60s compilation fodder in the 90s

This. Half the time people say this shit they just have an attachment to one album but the band has other good ones. I think sometimes people just listen to the highest rated album on RYM and then don't even bother checking out the rest of the discography because it isn't bolded.
