The biggest stupid myth about him, that is still getting repeated ITT, is people think Kurt didn't give a fuck about his music and it was all just haphazardly thrown together which is wrong. The reason they fired so many drummers early on is because he wanted to practice every single day and most people weren't up for it. At one point Krist was going to quit Nirvana and wanted to join the Screaming Trees because 'Everyone has to be Kurt's way' and Lanegan ended up talking him out of it saying he should stick with Nirvana.

He also knew a bit more about guitar than people seem to think, he at least knew what different chords were called and where to play them on the fretboard according to that diary.
