They're a cool band, but tbqh for the "Japanoise" stuff I'm a much bigger fan of The Gerogerigegege, Boredoms, Aube, and Melt-Banana. Les Rallizes Denudes are a good and interesting band, though.

Speaking of Japanoise, I still don't get the appeal of Merzbow at all desu

Avant teen stuff is more difficult. Like when you listen to Faust for the first time there's only a couple of points on that album that are catchy or immediately emotionally affecting. LRD is accessible. The only filter is the production and song length. The basslines are catchy as fuck, the vocals sound super cool, and if you have a soul you should be moved by the guitar solos in the second half of the first track.

Overrated as other anons have said but White Awakening version 2 is one of the greatest songs ever recorded, so I forgive them the outsized reputation.
