Why do so many of these internet virtuosos pretend that they don’t severely edit their recordings to sound inhumanly perfect? Many of them can still play the parts they demonstrate, just not to such an impossibly consistent level because they aren’t robots. And then they say things like “I can PROVE my recording wasn’t sped up”, as though speeding up a recording is the only editing technique possible. If people like the music then it shouldn’t matter, just be open about how the live version could never sound as flawless as the edited version.

because the music they make is more like a marketing jingle for their guitar ig/tiktok profile than an actual song
as such, leaving mistakes or a rough edge would leave a semblance of emotion which is good for a song, not for a jingle
