Trump’s latest tariffs U-turn is sparking a global market rally — and reviving talk of the ‘TACO trade’
U.S. President Donald Trump’s latest retreat from a trade war has catalyzed an international asset rally — and revived investors’ talk of “TACO” — “Trump Always Chickens Out.”
Speaking to CNBC’s Joe Kernen at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Wednesday evening, Trump said he’d walked back tariffs on European allies because he now had “the concept of a deal” over Greenland, after weeks of demanding to annex it for the U.S.
He had threatened to impose 10% tariffs on eight European countries that opposed his push to “buy” the Arctic island. They would have risen to 25% from June 1

you seem pretty damn stopped. Go ahead, declare war; you literally hand Greenland 150 American POWs by default. And the American bases in the rest of NATO? Also now prisoners of war, they can't stand up to the entire military of those nations they were supposed to be allied with on their own. So much as touch either country and thousands of US troops, military equipment, and bases are captured overnight.

>We'll just start a war with venezuela and cuba and iran and syria and mexico and the entirety of nato at the same time
Trump's chance of making it through the year without dying of a stroke get lower by the day and you think you can go to war with half the planet one at a time before he croaks? Lmao. You couldn't even manage a proper regime change in Venezuela.

Actually he did quite well
Everyone said that Israel and Iran going to war would be WW3. It ended up being 12 days of missile strikes.
Everyone said regime change in Venezuela would be a quagmire, a new vietnam. There are 0 boots on the ground, 0 American casualties.

Lmao what regime change? Literally the only thing that changed was the president himself. The entire Maduro regime that illegally put him into power is still there.

It's a show of force. Trump is telling world leaders that he can kidnap them in the middle of the night.
For what purpose I don't know.

Seriously? Optics. So they look big and strong and cool. The same reason you propagandize anything.
I don't think it's all propaganda, but if you don't see why they'd propagandize this then...fuck, man, what do you think propaganda is even for?
