* 3x V-22 Ospreys mobilized from surroundings
* 1x CH-47 Chinook approaching from Long Beach
* All craft running with transponders on
* P-8 Poseidon is not broadcasting a registration #

They're definitely after a sea vessel, but the rapid mobilization/expanding pattern looks a lot more like a search operation.
Also, the P-8 wouldn't run with a transponder on if this were a planned operation/slow rollout like a tanker intercept.

Current status: Crew change. New Black Hawks and 1x C130 currently moving into AO, existing crafts now heading for home.
Chinook: Still hovering.
Osprey: Found something, now hovering.
Main P-8: Returned to airfield.
Final P-8: Running a long recon pattern far south.

Search and rescue to find four different targets, in four different places? Pulling in assets from all over the region at breakneck speeds?
The P-8s turning on transponders is strange enough as is, never mind that the operation has now strayed over Mexico's sea border several times.
