That's because they sell a van. Vans are superior to pickups.

Their planes suck btw. Second worst private jets in the air (Cirrus Vision takes the cake for worst and I am speaking from a buddy's experience with them). There is a reason why nobody buys Hondajets and that the industry only tends to purchase Citations, Challengers, Phenoms and Gulfstreams, as a rule.

There are a ton of companies like this in Asia:
>Hitachi
>Thunder Tiger
>Sanyo
>Panasonic
>Hyundai
>Mitsubishi
>Fuji (which includes Subaru btw)
>Samsung
The list goes on, they simply do stuff that they believe will become a profitable venture or absorb a smaller business that seems profitable.

They dropped it because they couldn't compete with the superior Daihatsu's and Suzuki's.

Lol this.
Step into a warehouse and you'll see dozens of Toyota and Nissan forklifts.
Mitsubishi and Hyundai I guess make forklifts too but I don't see them as often as Toyotas.

they basically havent made their own pickup in north america since 1996. I dont count the Raider since that was a rebadged Dodge Dakota entirely built by Chrysler. The Raider was a failure anyway, lasted only from 06 to 09 and sold only ~22k units. They're a rare sight but ive seen probably 3 or 4 in the last 6 months here.
no idea how much success theyd have in the usa if they produced tritons in the us, but theyre clearly successful enough in every other market.

they do, somehow. I dont think many people like them though since theyre just a tuscon with a truck bed. Although just today news came out that Hyundai plans to axe the santa cruz and replace it with a larger pickup

Mitsubishi's main attraction is their 4WD system, which has high/low range, terrain select and the ability to drive in 4WD at all times, including on dry pavement.
