LeMons driver coach here.
Front-engine FWD understeers, AWD is fake, RWD oversteers.
Rear-engine FWD solves all three with proper weight transfer.
FIA banned it because it was too dominant.
>>
Rwd is more fun, fwd is more forgiving.
>>
>>28821964
If you're not a faggot with an ego, then rwd is fine.
>>
>>28821964
it literally does not matter, it is the same shit and you will not notice a difference unless you start doing weird stuff
>>
>>28821964
Rear engine. Can you afford Porsche as first car tho?
>>
>>28821964
You’re asking the wrong question.
The real distinction isn’t FWD vs RWD, it’s front steering vs rear steering.
Rear steering is the patrician’s choice.

this is what they drive in agartha

If you live in an area where it snows get FWD. Yes, it's more cramped to work on and in ideal conditions it's less efficient but It's just easier to maneuver in poor conditions because power always goes down the way the wheels are pointed.
>>
>>28821964
All depends on how much faith you have in your ability to not power oversteer directly into a curb leaving the dealership
>>
>>28821964
Mid-engine can actually be in the front too, as long as ita behind the front axle.

Also if you live where it snows a fwd car is safer, especially since youre gonna be a broke young retard who cant afford good tires.

If you can get a second set of winter tires then definitely do RWD.

My first car was a 230 hp RWD BMW and I'm fine, but that's probably because I bought it at 25, if I had it at 18, it could've ended differently.

>If you're not a faggot with an ego
>rwd
Ironic

Nissan should've made the Z rear engine. Imagine if it was truly a budget 911.

Drive train doesn't matter for your first runabout.
I had an excel on sport springs with a towbar and now I just want a boring soft riding car that has a working starting circuit and doen't burn excessive oil to get me to a job and to finish fixing my truck to get stuff for my mower and tractor. I've lost interest in sporty cars due to the hash ride of the excel.
>>
>>28821964
FWD if it snows, RWD if not.
>>
>>28821964
Why not both?
>>
>>28821964
Not enough information to make a proper suggestion, image has nothing to do with question, obvious bait thread. It doesn't matter anyway. For basic commuter appliances you won't ever notice the difference.
>>
>>28822598
Nu-Beetle should've been RWD too
>>
>>28822699
Meant rear-engine*
>>
>>28822535
Yeah. You're the kind of person I'm referring to.
>>
>>28822849
You are so retarded it's actually funny
>>
>>28822094
>lift-off oversteer
>>
>>28822202
If you live in an area where it snows, just move to somewhere it doesn't
Hope that helps!

>>28822654
godsDAMN those things are ugly as fuck lol
>>
>>28822634
the other way around
>>

Side mounted engine
>>
>>28821964
It doesn't matter. They all drive the same.

If you gained an ounce of self-awareness, you'd probably kill yourself.

Why do gooks put huge ricer wings on their cars as if they aren't sending >50% of the sub 200 horsepower to the front wheels
>>
you should get a minivan
>>
>>28823613
>Complains about one of the fewer than 5% of spoilers that actually works on a car that has upwards of 300 and does send 50 or more to the rear at all times.
Also down force is works at speed no matter what. 2 of my cars ago had 100hp tops and could go 130mph (127, close enough).

Get a muscle car, the superior car. Power of a sports car, ride of a luxobarge. You get both racing fun and commute comfort. The boomers were indeed right.
Unfortunately your options after '73 are few. The 10's chevy ss sedan is probably the last car which fits the criteria, or you could get a mark 8 lincoln if you're broke/frugal like me
>>
>>28822449
>FWD better in snow
Fuck no its not, you lose traction in a rwd your back slides a bit and you correct, you lose traction in a fwd and you have no steering either
t. just got into my first car accident because I borrowed someones van and there was snow
>>
>>28825792
You just turn it the direction you want to go and give it gas, the wheels dig in and you start pulling in the direction the wheels are pointed. Only time this fails is if there is no purchase ground for the wheels due to actual ice under the front tires, which means your road works dept needs to start throwing out salt earlier and more often.
>>
>>28825792
Retarded take
>>
>>28822093
FIA bans all the fun shit
>>
>>28823613
I dunno, gooks are obsessed with new cars regardless of wings. I think you're talking about nips.
>>
>>28825817
>>28825835
with a rwd car you don't lose front wheel grip because you're not accelerating (and often braking) with the same wheels you turn with
>retarded
no you, FWD is the worst
>>
>>28823609
Because Nissan is retarded. Long nose Z was how it all began.

It would instantly be unstoppable.
>>
>>28823609
Where will you put legs?
>>
>>28821964
Doesn't matter as long as it's manual
>>
>>28822093
bullshit.
under/oversteer is mostly buildt into the vehicle due to its design to its but mostly comes from inproper throttle use while steering its not an inherit feature of neither rwd or awd.
my daily is one of and perhaps the only car ever made thats made with the same frame/unibody and everything else in both transverse fwd and longitudional rwd and awd. i have had them all and can compare, no you dont suddenly go from understeer to oversteer just by changing drive wheels. its easy to understeer a rwd and most fwd spinouts happends because they can and will oversteer.

How does it work?
