how many bugatti threads do we need ?
not a single (1) person who has ever laid eyes on this website can afford one

Not exactly. This is a design from 20 years ago but the technology didn't exist to create it yet
This is the version Bugatti would have originally built if they could have. Its also a complete one off paid for by a single customer.
>>
>>28823377
I don't like it. It doesn't have OG Veyron's look of smug superiority. It just looks mildly pissed.
>>
>>28824033
If you watch the interview with the lead designer, its more faithful to the original design proofs than the production veyron was

Bugatti are the protagonist of the car industry.

Judging by the original concept car, I think that's just him saying pretty words to make the customer happy. Look at the hood line- it's almost bowl-like. Production Veyron gets a bit of that, as he called it, fuselage, and new Veyron has full fuselage nose courtesy of the Chiron base it's built on. I do like that change.
But headlights are still not quite there. Both old ones have the down-sloping headlights, while new one has the almost flat, even a bit up-swept ones. Similar look, clear inspiration, completely different feel.

This desu
This board is full of bitter poorfags but I can appreciate the styling, engineering and attention to detail that goes into cars like these or koenigseggs. Cars with an unlimited development budget are just cool. I would definitely buy one if I was rich and just to stare at it and play with the wiper stalks when im not daily driving it

I say that because during the interview, the lead designer showed drawings from the concept stage back in the early/mid 2000s. They showed these complex light fixtures and body shapes, or at least that was his claim.

Apparently it was always intended for the grill to serve more as a fuselage snout, but it was too difficult to make it work with carbon fiber at the time. Carbon fiber body panels were still being developed back then and while they were often used for monocoque chassis, it was still fairly novel for body panels. Cars like the enzo/f50 had a carbon composite body panels made with kevlar as opposed to straight up carbon, which I think supports the claim. If the designer is to be believed, the material had not reached a point where they could create these complex body shapes with the level of finish they were looking for.
My supporting evidence from Bugatti would be that every subsequent bugatti model abandoned the flat nose in favor of the fueselage shape. I think it works, and I think the FKP is the best looking car theyve ever made.

why can't bugatti design a pretty car, everything eb110 and on is an eyesore

Tbh I would be more than happy if Ford re-releases the '05 GT with a 5.2 Predator inside.

>>
>>28824241
>>28824239
I said not exactly and ill explain why.
When the original koenigsegg and veryon were built, they were limited only by the technology available at the time. They were brushing up on and pushing the limits both in engineering and craftmanship. They were intended to be no expense-spared boutique cars; the type of cars you buy have when you can spend as much on a car as you could possibly ever want. You can call it a remake if you want, but its far beyond the extent any other automaker will go through to create a heritage car. They're building the cars as they would have been built back then if the technology was available whereas the countach is just digging the name out of the dirt to sell something they were already selling. Nowhere near the amount of thought was put into it.

I view it as a cash grab nameplate resurrection slop no different than the new prelude or a dodge dart, and automakers have been doing that for a hundred years.

This unironically but only when you say it, apparently

If you could read, you might notice I did not say mine supersedes yours either. That's the whole point. They're opinions, fact. If you like the headlights, more slop for you. They look like shit to me and you won't be able to make me enjoy them.

koenigsegg is cool because the whole company seems like a parody of hypercars. a super-autistic swede who looks like dr. eggman put his fortune into wrapping carbon around a ford V8 and now people will pay a gorillion dollars for a still-looks-like-a-CCX-but-with-less-taillights new koenigsegg with a ghost painted on the back window and some godforsaken one-off super hybrid turbo II drivetrain making 81659046 horsepower that they'll never use, and mr. bald, whose body is so focused on aerodynamics that it killed his own hair follicles, goes 'hmm. let's put an electro-hydropneumatic 3-cylinder in the front of our next car, and also name it after a roald dahl book for the lols'
bugatti's past history is way more interesting than the company now, mostly the racing side, but that bugatti died almost a century ago and the zombie wearing its name since the 80s has just been lamborghini for yuppies in spirit, and then literally once both were bought by VW. there isn't even a funny perpetual scam artist at the forefront like Pagani, they just kind of exist and once in a while shit out a new veyron variant for everyone to go 'eh' at

I'd say Pagani would jump on the bandwagon and make a new Zonda tomorrow, but they never stopped in the first place.
The fact they'd have to link up with HWA for an NA V12 now does my dick hard though.
>>
>>28829005
God that was a hard read. Sober up. Eggman hasn't put a 3 cyl in the Gemera yet because every customer he spoke to would rather a 5.0 V8 hybris with 2xxxhp

Probably because the last Bugatti was built in WW2.
>>
>>28824239
Again, this is just another VAG product, it has nothing in common with the original Countach.
>>
>>28829058
Yeah id appreciate cars having distinct looks again instead of them all being shaped like blobby boxes with horrendously edgy grills and head/taillights.
>>
>>28832853
All cars look the same across each generation with very few exceptions. That's how technology works.
