I think that's an ltz. It's still an abomination. It's as tall as my 20 year old ferd on 35s yet has minivan ground clearance.

If you think that's bad look at the AT4 (the actual "off road" trim) Tahoes and Suburbans. The control arms are like 3'' off the ground lol.

Read CAFE and other regs. It's so auto manufacturers can avoid having to comply with unmeetable environmental regs by pretending trucks/truck frame SUVs are cargo/utility vehicles rather than people movers. If they make the body panels big enough, then thr truck counts as a cargo hauler since the regs include the total area of the body panels in their calculations. Has nothing to do with what people want, just what is the cheapest way for manufacturers to avoid environmental regs.

the names of the package mean nothing. it's all a LARP. they might as well rename it to the gaynigger package.

probably got tired of listening to boomers bitch about their fat, sagging asses tearing up the corner of the seats as they heaved and ho'd themselves in and out.

Nothing about the actual ride height, or entry/exit height changed in the new SUVs vs the old ones. They mainly just killed the solid rear axle in order to have more rear cargo space and more legroom for the third row, at the expense of those stupid control arms hanging down. Competition such as the Ford Expedition killed off the solid axle 20+ years ago.
