Tesla only sold vehicles because there is no dealer markup or dealerships. Once China Temu's EV cars to the world, that's when it becomes a problem to them.
In a market perspective it's real competition for someone without competitors.

Good morning saars!
Dealership markups from mainstream brands tying to go EV are a real problem to why they can't sell EV cars.
The other factor is affordability over luxury. Actual Tesla competitors have yet to topple Tesla because of that.
The Reasons
1. No Markups, because there are no dealerships.
2. Affordability, because there is no mark up for lesser options.
3. Accessibility, because it's delivered and not picked up.
Tesla had done that first in the western world to be an icon.
And the Chinese can easily copy that business model globally much like they copy everything.

the whole dealership thing is such a head scratcher. the dealerships make most of their money selling used cars and from warranty service, oil changes. and so forth, they eat shit on new cars usually because they have to finance them until they are sold. they could still do the stuff that makes them money, and let the manufacturers handle new car sales.

I visited China recently, and rode in a Nio ET5 station wagon while there. Quickly understood why there's been tariffs on them since 2024. I wouldn't be surprised if Ford just badge-engineers the SU7 just like pic related was.
