Only way to make Skoda cheaper than regular Volkswagen nowadays, is to buy most basic, feature-less configuration that doesn't even has its VW's equivalent. Seat is budget VW while Skoda became experimental, budget Audi.

My sister had a 5spd 5cyl of those 15 years ago. It was a functional car and wasn't a piece of shit, but not exciting to drive and the dashboard is so big I felt as though I was driving a boat. You probably get used to it after a while. Not my thing but I'm glad you like it and seem to take care of it.

Full bumper deletion looks weird. You should put low-profile black bumpers (fuck chrome), to round out the silhouette.

Is that from 10 years ago? It's missing Cupra. Yeah, I don't understand why they made it a standalone brand instead of making SEAT the "angy pseudo-sporty brand" (probably copied PSA with their DS spin-off), but it's part of VAG.

I have a bunch of 742 bumpers, but they're all ugly.
I like the look without them, plus I repurposed the bumper mounts up front for led indicators

I redline almost every time I drive but I'm not dickish enough to redline others' cars. I really don't think power at the top end would make me like that thing anyway. I've driven a turbo manual fiat 500 for several k miles, it's a MUCH better car than the beetle and you'll randomly look down and notice you're going 130mph, but I don't really like the way either feels.
